Been using the H & S on the back for about a week.....seems like its really going to work so far....drying everything up, especially a couple big cystic ones. They have gone done very quickly, and usually those kind can linger a lot longer.....i do it twice a day for between 5-10 minutes each time, depending on how dry my skin feels (if its dry i will do less). Be careful to keep it off of your neck, because it can burn there. i go on my shoulders and back.
It also used to itch a decent amount too and now after using the shampoo it doesnt at all. Im quite pleased so far.

i used it on my neck n back n stuff and left it on overnight and i regret that i did because it made my neck burn it was itchy and it wasnt a good feeling so its dry right now. i stopped using h&s and now im using proactiv im scared that it wont get better =( hopefully it does
i used it for 3 days. 2 of witch i left on overnight, plus washing with in the morning. the first 2 days made me all red and the pimples all dried all up, but then my shoulders and chest turned into reptile skin. there was no oil and the skin was cracking and it hurt to move. i havent used it in about a week and my shoulders are just recovering.

In the words of Denzel from American Gangster: MY MAN!
LOL!!!!!!
Do people still use Head & Shoulders do people use it as a cleanser or as a BP plzz reply back?
From what I've heard, H&S can help with fungal folliculitis, a skin condition often mistaken for acne. Search folliculitis on this site and see what you come up with. Good luck.
Did anyone with sensitive skin try this? Would anyone recommend this for senstive skin? Are people still seeing good results from using this? I want to try it out but I'm a little skeptical because most of the people who had good excuse from this said their skin was oily, my skin isn't oily its dry.
Nahh I wouldn't recommend it to you because I also have sensetive skin but when I washed my face with head and shoulders it burned my skin real bad if you want a really good cleanser you should buy Cetaphil a 16oz bottle costs about $11 but If you want something cheaper I reccomend you buy Johnson's Baby Head-to-Toe Baby Wash original a 15oz bottle for only about $5 thats almost $6 cheaper for only 1oz less
Head and shoulders is known to dry out peoples scalps, are you sure its not drying out your skin or damaging it and you just dont realize it? I mean I'm glad it works but shampoo and especially dandruff shampoos can be very drying and damaging make sure to use a moisturizer!
Hello all. First post here. I've been dealing with acne for about eight months now. It started out on my right cheek and then my forehead. Over time it got worse but never really moved from these two places on my face. Left and lower sides of my face are unaffected.
I've tried a few different things so far such as:
- Various types of soaps
- Clearsil Ultra gel
- Hydrocortisone 2.5%
- Excessive washing
- No washing
- Just water washing
All of these did little, nothing or made it worse. The best of the above was the Hydrocortisone but notthing dramatic.
I've always used Head and Shoulders for my dandruff. If I switch shampoos or don't wash my head for a while I flake and get pimples on my scalp. The other days I realized that the condition of my skin where my acne is resembles my scalp when I don't use H&S. I figured it's worth a try.
So far I've washed my face twice twice with H&S and there's no doubt in my mind it's working. The redness of the pimples has reduced and a few have already disappeared. I'll post in a few more days to update on my progress.
Hopefully this is for real because my acne has begun to hurt my self confidence. Sometimes it's so red and nasty that I feel that I look diseased. Like a leper. Ok, it's not that bad.
Later...
my acne condition was mild; one to two zits a week and oily skin. morning and night i would have to apply acne cream but now i no longer do that.i started washing my face with head and shoulder for 3 weeks now and the results are incredible. my skin is incredible soft and smooth, i wouldn't expect from a shampoo but its actually the best cleanser i've used. it does not dry out your skin or irritate it. My acne is gone, sometimes i get white head but it goes away in 3 days or less.
the best part is that i no longer use any acne product and it feels great!. my regimin now is wash my face with head and shoulder and nothing else.
if you do try, make sure you get the Head and Shoulder Classic Clean without the conditioner in it. good luck and best wishes. i'm here to answer any questions.
I was wondering why I couldn't use the head and shoulders with the conditioner?
I just looked up the ingredients in H&S and saw that it contains both Sodium Laureth Sulfate and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate....then I googled those ingredients and this is what I found!!!!"Shampoos with SLS could retard healing and keep children's eyes from developing properly. Children under six years old are especially vulnerable to improper eye development. (Summary of Report of Research to Prevent Blindness, Inc. conference."
"Sodium Lauryl Sulfate can cause cataracts in adults and delays the healing of wounds in the surface of the cornea."
"Sodium Lauryl Sulfate has a low molecular weight and so is easily absorbed by the body. It builds up in the heart, liver and brain and can cause major problems in these areas."
"Sodium Lauryl Sulfate causes skin to flake and to separate and causes roughness on the skin."
"Sodium Lauryl Sulfate causes dysfunction of the biological systems of the skin."
"Sodium Lauryl Sulfate is such a caustic cleanser that it actually corrodes the hair follicle and impairs the ability to grow hair."
"Sodium Lauryl Sulfate is routinely used in clinical studies deliberately to irritate the skin so that the effects of other substances can be tested." (Study cited by the Wall St Journal, 1st November 1998)
SLS IS IN TOOTHPASTE AND ALMOST EVERY PRODUCT - YOU'RE OKAY 🙂
