this is my 4th week, and my acne has gotten a bit worse. i'm not sure if i should continue, but there's not much else i can do because i've tried every other stupid acne thing out there (except accutane, i'm never going there). i've broken out with a huge pimple near my nose, one like half-way on my lip, a cyst on my chin, a cyst on my forehead, and about 8 other pimples. i really hate this.

Lexii I completely AGREE!! I don't think this regime works for everyone. I think I'm going to give it up because it's making a mess outta my face...even more than it was. I think I might head on to Purity by Philosophy (starting to think less is better in terms of acids on my face!)

I just started this and have a quick question, should I continue drinking ACV if I'm on this regime? I've been drinking ACV for about 5 months but it's effectiveness seems to have slowly worn off. So, yay or nay on ACV with this?

It is not necessary to stop. Sometimes hitting acne from all directions is what makes the difference in getting you clear. Consider doing the regimen with and if you don't see much change, stop the ACV if you want.

Need a quick answer here if possible guys, trying to pick this up today. I'm looking for a new moisturizer and a lot of people like the CnC Dual Action Moisturizer 2% SA. With this regimen, is this two much SA to have or would you recommend this for a moisturizer? If not, any have any moisturizers that are good?

Edit: After searching a bit, people seem to recommend:

Eucerin Renewal Moisturizer

CeraVe

Neutrogena Oil Free Moisture for Combination Skin

Olay Complete Moister Lotion SPF 15 (Sensitive Version)

What about some of these?

I am using Cerave right now and like it alot - not to thick but really helps with dry skin - you may get it when you first start doing this - especially if you are dealing with cold weather like I am.

So I've been reading more into this thread and it seems like a lot of people break out with certain lotions and just refrain from using one. Is this really recommended? I know it's kind of whatever works for you...my skin never really gets super dry or flaky and it only gets dry and irritated around my nose where there isn't any acne. Do you think I should still get a moisturizer? And anyone else have recommendations on some moisturizers? I would just like more than one opinion dwhaa, but thank you.

I bought the products today, so before i completely sabotage my face even more, i would like to know: Has this regimen cleared anyone with cystic acne? or just the mild stuff, like whiteheads?

I would try the regimen first before using SA and BP. There is a reason all the acne kits either use SA or BP but not both. :naughty:

please guys, do not try this regimen.

i have tried it before, and it does not hold a candle to a standard SA/BP cream combo.

this regimen is basically like a watered-down version of just using SA and BP creams, is it not?

i have tried this regimen, and it got me like half clear.

i am now on SA and BP (2% and 2.5%) creams and im clear after the third day.

if you want to try a SA/BP combo, then use the creams. the combo is quite taxing on your skin, though. my skin is very dry right now, and if it doesnt get better by winter break i may have to use BP once a day or something. but its a very powerful combination nonetheless.

and the combo IS fine to use. dan's regimen SUCKS if you have clogged pores. ive tried BP only before, and it makes my skin look like SHIT. i had hundreds of little "specks" on my face which were little clogged pores. that is why OTC products are ALWAYS nothing more than SA and BP. they actually WORK if you use them together, but it DOES mess up your skin in the beginning.

so yea please dont use this regimen...just use creams instead.

That's interesting. I used to use the neutrogena blackhead scrub but it wasn't working for me, and that was when my acne started. I was around 11. Now i'm 14 and i'm using Clearasil Ultra products, the cleanser has 2% SA and the cream has 10% BP, but my acne hasn't gone completely away.

I guess this only works for some people. Others still have to moisturize and be careful not to touch their face alot and tons of other things go with their acne.

I had the same experience, Midnight. It did work some, but not near enough. I moved onto Dan's regimen, seeing as it was the BP that was the magic that did work with this.

okay its about day 5..

does anyone else feel more oily on this regimen? :\

like , starting yesterday, my face started to feel..

more oily?

also, some of my "dead" pimples are going active again,

but my skin feels AMAZINGLY smooth, and this regimen seems to make my pimples not have any pus.

should i continue?

currently, i have around..5 active pimples and around 5 dead ones

and quite a few red marks

A few months ago (about 3-5 months - maybe i started at beginning of march or the end of march). i decided to use these two products (the clean & clear continuous control acne cleanser and clean & clear blackhead eraser).

by the 2nd to the 3rd month (beginning of may or the end of april) my skin was clear.

this is my 3rd blackhead eraser scrub and my 2nd continuous control acne cleanser.

important: wear a facelotion w/ some spf!

i like using C&C morning glow moisturizer. i use the moisturizer once in the morning and again before bed.

its important to moisturize.

if you have oily face like me. use a gel-like moisturizer (ive heard from somewhere). i am not use if C&C morning glow is a gel-like moisturizer or a creme or whatever, but it works for me.

i totally forgot about this forum after getting my skin cleared, so i thought i should tell everyone that it works.

Are people still using this method? And if so, how long have you been using it and is it still working? I have combination skin that has a tendency toward being very dry and then overcompensating by becoming slick and oily by the time I wake up if I don't use moisturizer before bed. I'm afraid that this will dry it out too much.

I also read on about the Oil Cleansing Method on another thread, which seems to be the polar opposite of this regime since that one says you shouldn't strip your skin of its natural oils. From what people say, it's hit or miss, with a lot of people breaking out again after a few weeks of dewy, glowy skin. I wonder if you can use that regime and this or if it just cancels each other out or makes the other worse.

I will start by explaining my acne and then I will get into how this regime worked for me.

I had around twenty or so non visable bumps on my forehead that would "activate" randomly about two at a time. The bumps were only really visible when I would get heated or when I was right from a hot shower.

I would get whiteheads on my nose that would be in the most akward places like the tip mainly. Almost always they would get inflamed no matter what I did.

I would get a random zit here and there on my cheeks but nothing too severe.

I would describe my acne mild/moderate.

I started using the two products in the first post and initially I didn't notice much of a difference. The first week was a bit brutal because I grew about five good sized pimples on my nose. I left them alone so the medicine could work and they quickly formed heads but just wouldn't go away. I ended up popping them after a week because I couldn't stand it any longer. They did not reform. The bumps on my forehead started coming to a head one by one but unlike the ones on my nose leaving them alone made them go away.

I am about a month into the regime and I have had very few breakouts. The few spots I have gotten have gone away pretty fast. I think the combination of these two products has been a success for my face and I will keep using them.

I wash my face when I wake up with the s.a. wash and at night before bed I use both washes. I do not use any moisturizer because the combination has not dried out my skin.

I want to mention this last week I have been sick and usually the flu makes me break out like mad but I have still stayed clear. I am very impressed with these two products and never thought a over the counter medicine made by clean and clear would work so well.

I have been using the combination of products for about 4 months and I have been 90% acne free. This last month I have switched to just using the BP and that number has jumped to 95%.

I don't think this will make anyone completely acne free but it is a lot less expensive than most treatments and I can attest that it works for me.

On a side note the bp does stay on the skin with this cleanser. I know because I have bleached a few hats with my forehead sweat.

I recently started using this treatment and so far it's been working. I haven't seen any noticeable results yet but it has stopped my skin from breaking out. However, I did notice that my neck area has gotten red. I don't know if this normal or maybe I'm allergic to the BP. Any help would be highly appreciated.

I would recommend you use some form of moisturizer if it is making your skin red.

Do not leave the cleanser with bp on for too long because it will be more rough on the skin. You might also need to start slower and only use it every other day until your skin adjusts.
