Hey Botchla, I was wondering along with this regimen, what kind of shave gel/ after shave lotion (if any) do you use or recommend? I have some mild acne but what's really bothering me is my skin tone and the marks associated with old acne, and you mentioned how this regimen took care of those as well. I live in Michigan so weather now is pretty cold so if you had to recommend a mosturizer/after shave lotion which would it be? Thanks again botchla.
I don't think Botchla is still active her, but he has said earlier that he doesn't use any moisturiser along with this regimen....
Had to order the products from ebay, and they are under way. Looking forward to start using them and will report back here after a month or so...
Would anyone think using Dan's 2.5% BP instead of the 10% stuff with this regimen would work?
Right now im on the DKR, so i do cleanser + BP + moisturizer AM and PM
This would essentially just be replacing the cleanser with the SA wash.
The reason im asking is because the DKR has helped my skin alot, but not cleared it 100%. Adding SA to my current regimen seems tempting..
so ive been using this for a while and it has made my acne like 100 times better... but like i said before i still have red marks... which should fade in a couple of months. for some reason, recently, my face has been flaking really badly so im going to stop using the bp for a couple of days to see if it gets better. overall... very good regimen but maybe u might want to use the bp every other day if you have sensitive skin.

If i were you I wouldn't stop using BP because this can cause some of your acne to return.
I'm using Jojoba Oil at night when I feel like my skin needs some moisturising. Will recommend you to use a moisturizer if your skin is getting flaky!
Okay, I have been using doing this regimen for a month. I must say that this really does work. My skin is much better than what it used to be and I can't wait to see what my face will look like after one more month on the regimen.
Also, to note, I only wash with the products once a day (I usually shower twice a day on weekdays, but I don't think that makes a difference).
Try it!
well this is my second day and my old pimples look like they're drying up so that's a good thing :0
I did have to new pimples that popped up this afternoon which I knew was gonna happen cause that seems to happen to pretty much everyone when they start so I'm gonna keep with it and I'll let everyone know how it's going.
o.k I'm on day 6 and this regimen is amazing !!!!!
I only have one pimple and a 2 or 3 red marks drying up.
I used to have 6 to 7 pimples at a time on my face at all times on Dans regimen
I just use the 2 clean and clear products but the 5% BP and a 5% panoxyl spot tratment at night
I'm so close to being clear yeah!!!!

I'm happy for you, but my experience is that you never should judge a treatment to early. 6 days is not enough.
I've tried many regimens with good results the first couple of days, but then it just doesn't last. It seems like the skin gets used to the products or something and doesn't respond in the same way anymore.
I've used the products for two weeks and the results are promising, but to early to tell...
Anyways, hope that your good results last!
i've been doing this regiment, and it really has worked for me!!!
i only have red marks and some scarring left (and the occasional pimple).
i'm thinking about using jojoba oil for my redness and scarring.
does anyone know how i can work the oil in safely with this regiment?

If you want to use jojoba oil then use it after SA and BP at night.
I like jojoba oil a lot and it works great as a moisturizer. However I don't think it will help very much with redness or scarring.
Ive been off accutane for nearly a year now and I have been using Retina at night since then. I am considering switching to this regimen. I have very mild acne with a few redmarks and normal but sensitive skin. Will this break me out? Ive used BP before and it made my face kinda red, is there any way to avoid this? thanks for the help
I decided im going to give this a try. Im 5 months off accutane and my face is usually 99% clear but ill get breakouts every once in awhile. Nothing big, just a few small pimples, but accutane spoiled me and im used to being completely clear.
I bought the blackhead clearing wash 10% BP to add to my normal washing with sacyrlic acid wash and have only used it a few times but man do i love the feel of it. My face feels so tingly and clean during and right after i wash with it. IM only going to use it 2-3 times a week at first because my skin is so sensitive but hopefully it will help.
I did this regimen for six months when I first got here - I actually found it was pretty decent when it came to red marks. The SA and BP in this regimen are *washes*, so it doesn't sit on your skin and dry it out (which lengthens the healing time of hyperpigmentation). It didn't actively help heal my red marks, but it didn't make them worse, either.
Haha sorry just have to post a bad experience to even it out...
I tried this a while back using those two products, I was so excited for it. I went away for a week with my ex-girlfriend and started this regimen at the beginning of it. First day I was like wow that felt good and it's tingling. Second day I was like wow a little bit cleared up on my cheek (my cheeks were bad at the time..only bad spots on my face). Third day I woke up and the area around my mouth was breaking out (oh shit). Stuff that had never broken out badly before. Whatever I thought. Fourth day it's getting worse.....Fifth day where the hell is this stuff coming from? Sixth day oh my god maybe it's just an initial break out. Seventh day..holy shit bail out.
So pretty well I broke out in spots that never even showed any signs before and my cheeks went from bad to shit. So just be wary of what is happening. Abandon if it starts getting worse because this stuff screwed up my face for a long time. I hope it works for those of you who try though.
I just saw this and I love clean and clear products. I actually used the clean and clear cream cleanser which worked fantastic (I left it on for like a minute after rubbing it in my face) and as long as I used it every day it was great. I stopped using it because I read the ingredients and saw gelatin in it though! And I am a vegan so I had to stop. I also used this clean and clear black head scrub and it worked very well, but i still broke out a little because it was all I was using (with retin a which didn't do much). So I just bought the benzoyl peroxide wash and hopefully it will be well.
apricot scrub blemish control
clean and clear continuous control
these two have worked best for me, i found the blackhead clearing scrub or whatever sucked ass, wasnt getting the dead skin off. even with a shit diet over easter with lots of sugar and stuff ive only had 2 zits or whatever, but they've died down since i cleaned up my diet. in the morning i use st ives oatmeal and shea butter body wash, but on my face very gently to moisturize for the day and im good to go.
ive been on this for about a week or two, so far so good. if skin isnt too sensitive and its oily all the time, its worth giving this a shot.
alright....well ive tried numerous things in the past and nothings worked. Ive spent HUNDREDS of dollars on everything dans, proactive, minocycline, etc. Ive got like 2 big ones and a few small ones so ive been pretty lucky with not getting the severe acne. Anyways, I went out and bought everything so todays my first day. I already put on the SA this morning so i'm about to go put the SA and the other stuff on right now...hopefully it works, i want my skin clear!! I'll log back on and tell you all about my results!
So i bought the C&C continous control cleanser...but i wanna use my Aqua Glycolic cleanser with it instead of the SA one...do you guys think this would work?? and should i used one in the morning and both a night?? how should i go about that??
Hey!
I think whenever you're beginning a new regimen, it's best to go slowly so your face becomes acclimated to the new products instead of becoming irritated by them. So, you could begin using one product in the morning and then two products at night. This way if you get too red, it will be at night before bed, so it will be calm by the morning. Then, if your face has no problems with it, if you need to, give the twice a day a try and see the results.
Interestingly enough, I found my best experiences when using an SA scrub following by 2.5% BP in the AM then I use mandelic in the PM. I think what makes this regimen so successful is as the original poster explained... the SA dives down deep, penetrating any oily residue on the skin (and pore), which then allows the BP better penetration. So even though I wasn't using a BP 10% cleanser, I still used the SA scrub first and followed up with the BP 2.5% lotion, allowing it to sink in deeper.
So, that being said, I think you can mix the products around a little bit, however, I think the SA might be better than glycolic because even though they serve some of the same functions, SA is better on oily skin I believe. Glycolic acid has been shown to be good for damaged and aged skin, also for acne problems too as an exfoliator, lactic acid is considered a less agressive acid and is less drying to the skin. Then, SA helps to reduce facial oil and impurities and improve the look of your skin. Salicylic used immediately prior to the BP will allow for a deeper penetration of the BP. Sometimes I know they use SA immediately prior to a glycolic treatment peel- a procedure known as an alpha beta peel.
So, the Aqua Glycolic will do a nice cleanse/chemical exfoliation of your skin to prepare it for the BP wash to penetrate. Since the two acids function a little differently, it might not be as good, but that's something you can try and see. BUT, you could always use your Aqua Glycolic one time of day and purchase the SA to use the other time you cleanse.
Then, to throw in another thought, I know my daughter's roomie used the C & C Continuous Clear to clear up her mild acne on her back. Just by using the C & C with a little scrubby, it cleared it right up! So in this scenario, the scrubby acted as the exfoliator.
Hope that helps!
