To the person that said that their face must be getting used to the BP keep at it. Bp oxidizes whatever it contacts and oxygen is one thing that bacteria cannot survive in. In other words it never loses it's effectiveness so it must be something else.

That was me blackbird, I can understand that, but i also think your skin can become used to it. Why else would you want to start out slowly at 2.5%, and ramp up to 10% or so? Your skin needs to get used to it, and i think by now, mine is probably used to 10%. Still gonna keep it up tho, results are great atm.

blackbird is right, your "skin" may get used to it, but your "bacteria" doesn't. and that's the issue anyways. as blackbird mentioned, it causes an oxygen reaction which kills the p. acnes bacteria.

just cause it no longer burns or tingles doesn't mean it's not working.. it's just your skin getting used to it. even you said it's still working good, right?

i've suffered acne for about 6 years now and i have tried EVERYTHING! and nothing really has worked. at the moment i'm on the murad program, and its soooo expensive and my skin has got heaps worse while on it. so i'm gonna give this C&C SA and BP stuff a go and see what happens. so i'll keep you posted!

#1 point while following this regimen is DO NOT PICK OR SQUEEZE anything you may have (unless of course it's one of those that you can see the white head and needs to be popped, but be very gentle!). i noticed when i started on my regimen, i still had a few marks from time to time (not zits, just red marks, slightly inflammed) but it was from stuff i had created by picking trying to get my face perfect. then i just told myself to leave it alone and don't touch anything. once you can get in the habit of not picking at your skin at all (especially once you start clearing, you won't need to).. this is when your skin will get much better. within like 2 weeks your skin should be all one even color with no red marks or anything. it's a hard habit to break, but once you get to that point (hopefully) where you're no longer getting any bumps coming up and your old stuff has cleared, you won't feel the need to.

but i just wanted to stress that part is really important besides doing the regimen.. cause you can pick at something that's nothing, and you can turn it into something. how many times have you seen like a little flesh colored tiny bump that's really not even visible, then you try to squeeze it and then it turns into a freakin red swollen spot or a full blown zit?

i hope everyone is having success with this. i am so glad to have found something that works, after years of trying crap products. i can't even begin to explain how nice it is to just get up and go and not have to stand in front of the mirror for 20 minutes every morning and night trying to repair, hide and treat everything. even better is the fact that i can talk to people face to face and not be paranoid and wondering if they're looking at my acne thinking i'm disgusting or not.

I bought this stuff called clinac from dermstore.com. It is $14.95 for a big tube and you put a thin layer on and it is supposed to shut off your oil glands for a while and not make you oily at all. It works like a charm. Ever since I started using it, I am not oily all day.(and I use to be an oil slick ) It can be used in conjunction with any medicine, it's really good stuff. If you don't stay oily, but the C&C BCS just makes you FEEL oily, I would stick with it, but if it MAKES you oily I would use clinac. (Does that make sense???? )

Hey Botchla,

I have been on the acne cure for almost 8 weeks now and I followed the directions exactly with the BP and the SA and the GA (AHA) BUT I didn't follow the ice packing directions entirely so my face never got to 100%...it probably got to 85% at some point but now I am back at 70-75% and I hate it.

My question is this....althought I don't think that you might be able to answer it....I am a girl and I wear foundation every day. Is this SA scrub going to effectively get my makeup off? Right now I use neutrogena SA wash and I'm not too fond of it but I use it with a scrubby thing (like a scruncy sponge) and the sponge definitely takes my make up off.

If anyone is on this regimine and uses makeup, please let me know your results.

Thanks!

I wear makeup just once in a while on special occasions, but each time these products have effectively taken off my makeup with no problem. I also think these products, even though the scrub has microbeads, would be more gentle than using a scrubby sponge to take makeup off.

I'm sure that would be fine. I use mandelic serum at night after the C&C products and I use clinac after the C&C products during the day. These are washes and I'm sure anything you put on after would be fine, as long as the product you put on afterwards works well for you and does not break you out.

mustangsally: of course i don't wear makeup myself but i have heard that the C&C continuous control (BP wash) does a good job of removing makeup. i'm not sure about the SA wash though.

the SA is crap at getting my foundation off. i used toner after the SA wash and so much makeup was on my cotton pad. if u use the SA at night and the BP then that should get most of your makeup off!

thanks! I just washed my face with the SA and the BP and it looks like it got all of my makeup off. My face is definitly tingling from the 2 products. I have a really really bad humungous zit on my left jaw and so I put a little BP on the spot treatment too..my face is pretty dry right now but I'm hoping that it will subside.

I think I'm going to give this 2 weeks. I'll let you know how it goes.

personally i don't think it does much to fade red marks.. i think they just faded away naturally within time. it took a couple weeks maybe like 2 or 3, but when my skin became clear, i didn't have to worry about new ones coming up, so i just let the old ones fade.. and they did, in time.

This post has a buttload of replies. Anywho, I'm gonna try this combo. The one person who said this gave them the worst breakout of their life kinda made me weary, but what do I have to loose? I've been using Neutrogena acne foam cleanser thinking that it's been pretty good, but maybe it does suck compared to other acne cleansers cause it's really the only one I've tried. This routine reminds me of the period when my skin was it's clearest. I had no idea there was so many complicated regimens, I just bought some clean and clear stuff with microbeads, squeezed all the pimples I could and then scrubbed morning and night for a week. I saw a home movie from that month and I had just one little zit and the rest of my skin was perfect. I hope this works cause it sure sounds simple.

Botchla,

Do you think that the dryness I have now will subside? Because I was on the acne cure regimine, and I lost hope on it, I COVERED my face in both clearisil and on-the-spot treatement and then iced it...the drying up happened IMEDIATELY...I was literally a wrinkled maniac. So now I am paying the price. I did the SA and BP wash last night but only the SA in the morning. I still use moisturizer, but I'm hoping tomorrow will be better with the dryness if I only do the BP once. I read the posts, do you still not use moisturizer? When you fist did this regimine, did it dry you out?

THanks for all your replys. You have been very helpful.

harp, i think that was the only person who had trouble with it, and they only used it for 36 hours or something? who is to say that wouldn't have happened anyways? 36 hours or 2 days isn't really long enough for this to do much. you are overlooking about the other it seems like 10-12 people that said they liked it/it helped.

if i remember correctly, when i first started on this regimen i had a little bit of dryness around the lower part of my face, yes. i think after about a week or so, maybe two at most it returned to normal..

yes, you're correct, i still don't use any type of moisturizer. my skin is not dry at all. it is completely "normal", that is, not dry, not oily. even during the day it doesn't get oily by night. it seems somehow that this regimen has kind of normalized my oil production if that's even possible.

i would try not to give up as long as it's not really horrible.. i think it should go away. just use some moisturizer if you need it. just make sure you use one that you know doesn't break you out.. and as you said, only wash with the SA wash in the morning.

also one more tip is don't SCRUB your face. i just gently massage these products around my skin. not applying a lot of pressure. especially with the BP wash i am barely touching my skin, just kind of massaging it around my face for like 30 seconds to 45 seconds.

i did notice the length of time you wash correlates to how dry it makes you afterwards. especially with the BP wash, if you get very crazy with it and scrub, or keep it on your face for too long (over a minute) i notice my skin is much more dry temporarily. hope that helps.

oh and i just thought of one more thing. i don't apply the BP creme directly on my skin. i put some in my moist palm (like about the size of how much toothpaste you would put on your brush maybe).. and then i rub it around in my hands until it's kind of like a creme rather than a paste.. then i apply this to my face. it doesn't really lather, but it's easier to rub on your face when it's not as thick. i saw my friend use this and he puts some in his hand then rubs the BP paste on his cheeks, forehead, then massages that around. that would be waay too drying.

I just got the two products yesterday and I used both of them last night and this morning. They haven't dried up my face at all, and I've even used the Neutrogena cream for spot treatment and still no drying. My face isn't red at all, unlike the regimen, where I looked like a tomato. I haven't cleared up too much yet, but I haven't gotten any new pimples either. And I absolutely love the way it makes my face feel... washing my face is actually kind of fun now! I hated how long it took with the regimen to get ready in the morning.

Quick question... does everyone just use their hands with this stuff? It's not a problem putting it on, but it seems to take a long time to rinse it off, especially the little microbeads... just wondering. It's not a huge problem.

I'm feeling pretty optimistic about this *crossing fingers*... I go to the derm again in about a month, and I was seriously considering Accutane because I've been dealing with this for five years or more, and nothing's worked. But I'm really hoping this works so I don't have to go on it... I'll let you know how it goes for me!

to wash the stuff i just stick my face under the faucet and rub it off.. some sinks i guess maybe you can't do that though.. it would take forever getting the SA wash off if you tried to do it by putting water in your hands and splashing your face.. in the mornings sometimes when i wash with the SA wash i just get in the shower and it's really easy to wash off in there.

OK...I really REALLY hope that I don't jinx myself by saying this, but it has been 2 days and my skin looks and feels so much better and it looks like the dryness is subsiding. I am SOOOOO praying [-o< that this works. I haven't gotten any new pimples my giant mofo on my left cheek is already soooo much flatter, but still very red (but I use makeup). If I didn't have that mofo, my skin would look SOOO good on my left side. On my right side I have 2 red marks from leftover pimples. If things keep going like this, in 2 weeks my skin should look the best it has in years.

A little background history...I'm 26 years old and have been suffering from acne since I was 13. When I was 16-17 it was at it's absolute worst (but not cystic...and not completely severe), but my derm wouldn't prescribe accutane. I used Benzamycin and it worked really really well. When I went to college, I got a new derm and I got accutane...this worked like a charm at clearing my body acne and my face...after I got off it, my face acne came back but never as bad as before...so I constatnly had mild acne...got proactiv, that worked for awhile but never cleared me up 100%. Tried Carley's...broke me out horribly, and tried the acne cure...which worked a little bit.

Thank you, botchla....who knew that these 2 simple products together could work so well. Perhaps you found the perfect combination. I'll write again next week and let you know how it's going. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let this work so I never have to worry again!!! [-o< [-o< [-o<
