ive been on this for 4 days now... i dont seem to see a difference but it definitely feels cleaner and i love the menthol in the second wash.
nevermind, i broke out with a huge fucking zit on my nose and cheek. give me a good success story or reason to stay on this... its been 6 days
i thought i had posted this already, but apparently it didnt show...
anyways, i started using this regimine, washing my face 3 times a day because my face doesn't dry out or become irritated by the products. i wash it once in the morning because i have to wake up, after i come back from work after i take off my makeup, and once at night...
my HUGE problem with this is that it's making me break out!! is this suppose to happen? cuz i've heard a lot of medications make the problem worse before making it better...is this true with this?
My history: i've never had a LOT of ance, just a pimple or two at a time, but im still on the quest for perfect skin...which led me to this post. Now, i have 4/5 on my face at one point...
HEEELLLLPPPP!!!! Anyone?
Well I've been using the two products recommended in this post, and so far I like them. The only thing is it seems like acne products really aggrevate my forehead, causing me to breakout. So for now I'm going to try to avoid put the cleanser with 10% bp on my forehead to see if that helps. This summer I decided I would quit using acne stuff, and my forehead rarely ever got a pimple, so I'm trying to put the two together. The acne on my forehead could just be going through a cycle, but I'm going to try this for a bit. Hopefully it works, and once again, thank you for recommending these products.
maybe your not rinsing your forehead enough which causes it to dry out then the dead skin builds up between washes and still causes irritation. i know its kinda hard to rinse your forehead for fear of getting product in your eyes, but thats my theory anyhow

hey dont worry. the first couple of days to a week i started breaking out bad. now im on my 15th day and my skin is doing a hell of a lot better. i have no new zits. just brown and red marks from past acne. just stick with it im sure it'll help out alot
I first used the Bothla's reg a year and a half ago and at first it worked wonderfully. Then I would always start to break out. I hate BP because of the aging and redding affects it has. So I have tried to switch off these products several times since then. Everytime I do I break out really bad, usually tiny bumps everywhere. When this happens I go back on the BP - SA reg. The first few days I use the C&C BP wash it clears me up almost overnight. But ALWAYS I start beaking out using these products within a few weeks. Its like I build up a defense to BP and it stops working. My problem is my face freaks out everytime I cold turkey quit using them - I got a subcription to Solodyn about 2 weeks ago - no change yet. SO I've switched back to Proactive, which also has bp in it.
Anyway, my point being, I would NOT start using such a powerful product like BP 10% - I wish Ihad never!
just want to post my success with the sa and bp method because it seems like the negatives get posted while the successes dont return to the site because they cleared up
products i used:
Neutrogena 2% sa acne wash
5% panoxyl bar
2.5% neutrogena spot treatment
I washed twice a day with the body wash and panoxyl bar. This didnt leave my skin as dry as the 10% one. The availability of the 5% in stores is limited (had to order it).
Before going to bed i would spot treat with the neutragena 2.5 bp much like described in Dan's regimin.
Im sure that dans would have worked for me too, but the idea of having all this crap on me all day was not too pleasing
Over the period of 3 months the above regimin has cleared me up almost completely. However, i dont know if it is the treatment or not, my skin heals very slowly so i had to wait a while before i started seeing good results. But it did work, so i wanted to let people know my experience with sa and bp.
hopefuly it will encourage people to stick with it.
*BUMP*
I've been using this regime for about 6 months and now I'm close to 90% clear. This regime is no joke, considering I've used pretty much everything else on the market.
Its low maintenance, cheap, and feels refreshing. What are you waiting for?
i started using clean and clear products a few weeks ago after reading this thread but im doing a modified version without the bp and im only using the scrub once a week because i have very sensitive skin and im afraid of irritating my skin. did you have an initial breakout? using the scrub twice a day doesnt bother your skin at all? also does the bp bleach ur hair or eyebrows?

I should have clarified, I only use the scrub once a day (morning) and the bp cleanser twice a day (morning/night). If you have sensitive skin I'd suggest using the scrub once a day and maybe the bp cleanser at night.
There was maybe a 2 week initial breakout period but it wasn't too bad. The bp cleanser does not bleach your hair or eyebrows, at least not that I'm aware of. I'd really consider throwing the bp cleanser into the mix considering I feel its the more productive of the 2 products, plus it makes ur skin feel so refreshing if you scrub it in long enough.
Good luck! =)

thanks a lot- i think i will give this a try.
EDIT: i am too nervous to use the bp cleanser after dkr gave me huge cysts. for now i will stick to the c&c sa wash(in the purple bottle), c&c advantage moisturizer, and i will continue doing the c&c blackhead clearing scrub once a week.
i read this thread about 6 weeks ago and said what the hell, i'll try it since C&C are cheap. i had been using all kinds of treatments including retin-a and the very expensive Excellence line. i've even had to use accutane when i was younger. i had a stubborn group of acne (not blackheads) at my temples and around my nose that just wouldn't go away.
well after using the sa and bp both morning and evening i'm now about 90% clear. in the mornings i also put on a light non-greasy spf 15 moisturizer and sunblock (Equate brand at walmart). my skin looks so much better in only a few weeks. i don't have a problem with over dryness but if i did, i would probably use the bp only once per day.
thank you very much bothla for posting this!
Just curious..Clean and Clear has good products..but aren't most acne products whether face washes or scrubs the same? I guess when I am done with Neutrogena I'll try this later on..but again most over the counter acne items have the same purpose right? Whether clean and clear or Neutrogena?

clean and clear & neutrogena are both owned by the same company but i think the c&C products are better when it comes to acne.
Okay, so this seems to be helping. Also, I'm just using the bp wash because if you read the original post it says that's what cleared Botchla up 80-90%. So if you can't afford both washes, or just want to try one in your regime, this is the one to buy.
But I have a warning. DO NOT get this anywhere near your eyes. Leave a really large area around your eyes, because I got a bit under my eyes and they wrinkled like crazy and now I have these ugly dried out lines under my eyes...

which is the one to buy? the cleanser or the scrub? Also which product caused the lines under your eyes?

The one with the Benzoyl Peroxide in the purple tube.
Okay, these lines are freaking me out. I look like I've aged 10 years.
OH I am soooo sorry to hear about the lines!! Grab some moisturizer!!! I have had that same issue with Tazerac.. Never will I make that mistake again!
Went out and just bout C&C blackhead scrub SA, C&C oil control moisturizer SA, and I already have the BP 10% wash and also BP leave-on. Gunna mix the SA scrub wit the BP soap. Then I will mix SA oil control wit BP leave on. Wish me luck! I will update y'all! HUGS!
Actually, I went to Walgreens and the SA inly costed $2! 5 OZ. purple tube thingy, its the same thing as clean & clear but its just the Walgreens brand. everything is exactly the same, ingredients and all, just the name is walgreens but its still the product of johnson and johnson
