Hey I'll try it out..thanks...though there weren't enough time to see the regimen resilts yet but I can't stand BP...
As many of you said, Clean and Clear shine-control moisturizer is really good...there is no greese on your face at all...and I think it does keep oil off...
but does anyone know of Clean and Clear Morning Burst Moisturizer? It look and smells really good and it makes you glow when you don't have acne. Unfortunately, it makes me break out even though it's non comedonic (sp?) Did this happen to anyone else?
Catty, you could try Clean and Clear Morning Burst one..maybe it makes only me break out, or maybe it was something else...anyway...that thing will make you feel like it's summer all year long! It makes me feel like that..heh..
just try it and see if it causes break outs..
I'm not as dry as you, jalrus. Maybe it's because I'm in Australia and it's Summer here, or maybe it's because the C&C BP Cleanser we have here is 5% (like it is in Canada). I'm not the slightest bit dry actually.
Were you on Dan's regimen before this, or Accutane or anything to make your skin dry? Or do you have dry skin naturally?? Are you using a moisturizer?

I was on dans, then took a month off, my skin is naturally oily!I am not using a moisturizer. Im almost positive your not as dry because A. its winter here by me and B my cleanser is 10%bp.
It's day 6 here. I'm getting clearer I'm using the salicylics acid scrub in the morning and at night. I use the BP wash immediately afterwards too. It doesn't dry me out too bad. Got to be careful not to get it on the lips though or they'll be nice and dry. I'm very happy with the results I got right now. I'm about 80% clear and at this rate I'd say I'm going to be 95% clear in 2 days. Thank you for this regimen you have no idea how much it has helped.
I have been using SA scrub and 2.5% BP gel twice a day for quite some time and it seems to work fairly well but it takes forever to apply the BP. I was wondering, if i switch from the BP gel to the wash, will the wash work the same (protect throughout the day). Also, will i get that initial break out everyone talks about. I would assume not because i have been using both products allready.
I too was using the BP gel. It took a long time to apply, and my skin was dry and flaky. I then tried this regimen and I liked it better. This BP wash you just wash for 20-30 seconds and then wash it off. Your face will feel so good afterwards. I put it on twice a day after 12 hours. Once I started that I did get an initial breakout. I got 3 or so pimples on my cheek, and some on my jawline. Give it 2 weeks and you'll be impressed. I had probably 20 active pimples 7 days ago, all I have left now are red marks.
ya so i went to go buy this stuff at the local shopperdrug mart store and i saw the clean and clear cont. control. but the design is like totally diff. the words are diff and everything and its not even 10%. its 5%, so thats wierd but its the same thing tho as botchla is using. so is 5% just as effective as 10%? or should i go look for the 10%?
10% is very good in many cases, even in gels that you leave on your face. However, it is too high of a percent for some people I suppose. However, the fact that this is a wash, and you don't leave it on your face, should make it fine in most cases.
hey all. well its been a long long time since i posted. things have been hectic but i'm back in need of some advice. i started botchlas in august.. started off with an initial breakout then gradually got better... never really got to the 100% clear i had hoped for but was very pleased with initial results.. it was tough the last month or so because winter has arrived and my skin was getting VERY dry.. (was using the sa and bp morning and night).
however, in the last 3 or 4 weeks i've started breaking out again..not terribly bad, but enough to concern me.. my skin was looking way better in august and sept than it was in nov and into dec.. because of the dryness i cut down the bp wash to only nightly to help with the dryness and hopefully help be less irritant.. but i've still been gradually breaking out... so its time for a change again *sigh*.
ok heres where i'm at:
i've always had a hard time with scrubs, i was initially put off by this regime because of the scrub, scrubs have nearly _always_ made me break out.. but this one i let ride.. because it didnt seem too harsh and i loved how smooth my skin felt after using it.. however, because i used bp wash for some time before this regime i have to look at the sa scrub as the culprit.. maybe my skin has become too irritated by the use of both.. therefore here are the options i am juggling:
1) go back to using the bp wash twice daily (remove sa scrub). this was my regime for a year before this regime.. and as with botchla..it had me at about 80% clear.. i might have averaged like 4 or 5 zits a week... maybe 2-3 on a good week and they would dry and heal very fast. the down side was sometimes my skin was reddish (mostly because of summer) and dry.. red patches could also last quite a while before fading.. losing the sa scrub step would take away that smoothness feel it gives.. which is a downer.. however..i am currently averaging like 2 new zits a day..which is unacceptable nomatter how smooth my skin is. i may have to live with more blackheads too.. but i'd always take blackheads over whiteheads IMO.
2) substitute the sa scrub with c+c advantage cleanser (another 2% sa) in the hope that because its not a scrub i'll have more luck. however, if its the sa+bp combination thats doing me wrong.. this may put me back to square one. this option involves the same regime sa then bp morning and night.
3) substitute the sa scrub with c+c advantage cleanser.. but alternate them.. using the bp at one end of the day and the sa at the other end... hoping not doing them together in the same wash will cease possible irritation.
4) find another regime all together. pretty tricky as i believe over the last 10 years i've tried every combination mentioned.. but i'm always up to hearing new regime ideas.
anyway i was just wondering how the people who started botchlas about the same time as me were doing (august or so) and if they ran into problems.. as always any advice is always appreciated.. big hi to everyone i havent talked to in so long.. heres to another new years eve of saying "maybe this year!" love, peace and stay clear!
shrug, you sound very similar to me. Ive been on botchlas twice and both times when winter came, i dried out and then broke out. The sa and bp is just too damn harsh. I too loved the feeling of being smooth after the cc scrub, but you gotta loose it. Sa is way overrated. Also dont even think of using the advantyage one, as it will dry you out terribly. We both know that a bp cleanser is where its at, but that clean and clear one is so damn strong it does more good than bad. This is what ive been doing for the last 2 weeks, and its making a huge difference. I got the neutrogena clearpore mask/cleanser. It is a great cleanser, and yes i know, neutrogena usually sucks. Just wash twice a day. heres why i believe its working. Cleans well and uses 3.5% bp to kill bacteria, yet is gentle enough not to destroy your skin and then cause more problems. This isnt the quickest route to clear skin but it is a good choice. Im no longer super oily, or super dry. Im no longer red after washing. PLEASE GIVE THIS A TRY!!!
thanks jalrus.. i will head out this week and get me some of that.. in the meantime i will switch back to just the bp cleanser (i usually just do once a day as it is very harsh).. you're right.. i am very sceptical of neutrogena.. i've never had any luck at all with any of their line.. however.. i really like the idea of a 3.5% strength.. the one neutrogena line i do like is the on the spot bp cream.. the 2.5%.. i find it great for individual spot treating.. looking forward to giving this a try..and will follow up as i do.. please do the same so i can track the progress your having with it.
take care and thanks much for the heads up.
Well I have been on the regime for two weeks and it was working pretty well with the acception of a few small pimples on my upper cheeks and every morning i would wake up with one or two white heads in the exact same spot on my chin(very annoying). But now im into week three and ive started breaking out again. Anyone else experience this breakout after week 2 and then start clearing up for good? I'm a bit sceptical about the whole intial break out thing. BP and SA aren't anti-biotics or anything like that. BP starves the bacteria of oxygen and so it should die almost imediately. Anyways. I'm gonna stick it out for another two weeks.
How do you know if your skin is too dry?
Does it just feel tense? Im sorry if this is a stupid question but the tense feeling or anything doesnt really bother me I just want to get rid of pimples as soon as possible but if the tense feeling is a bad sign then I should ease up on the BP?
well there are two different types of dry, i've experienced them both. When i was on dan's regime i had the type of dry where after applying the bp if i tried to open my mouth without putting moisterizer on first my skin would get all crackly and flaky. Now, I'm on botchla's regime and after getting out of the shower and once my face has dried off it is a very tight dry. My skin feels like it is being stretched. It is hard to open my mouth or move my face muscles but onces i move my jaw around and open and close it a few times evertyhing seems to be ok and i don't get cracked skin. I still use moisterizer though, but not alot.
I was on Dan's regimen for 2 months with BP on my face 24 hours a day.
It's my third day on "Dr." Botchla's regimen, but I have to admit that I still need BP on my face 24 hours a day. I'm using C&C salicylic and BP together on my face 24 hours a day (especially my nose that has dozens of whiteheads EVERY DAY!).
The two huge red zits on my nose are SLOWLY subsiding with "Dr." Botchla's remedy.
Osborne said:This is probably stated somewhere in the 50+ pages of this thread, but the 2 products recommended by Botchla seem to have different looking bottles on cvs.com. I compared the ingredients and theyre the same in the blackhead scrub, and there is only one variation in the continuous control cleanser. The one on cvs.com has Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate and on drugstore.com its Sodium Cocoyl Isethione. I was horrible in chemistry but those 2 are pretty much the same right? Ive been on Tazorac for a few years and it doesnt seem to do too much and i want to go out and buy this stuff today

Just got back from Walgreens, picked up both C&C products, each were a dollar off this month. $4.29 each
