Hey everyone,

Im new to this board, my name is Jade!

I was reading this entire thread and thought I would give it a try!

I went out today and bought the C&C products...just finished washing with both products and my face feels incredibly clean!

Just wondering how many bottles do u go through of each product for a month? should one bottle of each last you a month?

Jade

here's the irony: i had both of these cleansers in my "tried" box. i had never thought of using them together.. i stopped the BCS because altho it did a great job of clearing up blackheads.. i still had trouble with occasional whiteheads.. i stopped the BP cleanser because after using it my skin was so damn dry and burning i thought it was unusable.. when i first read this regime..i thought ..you have to be kidding me.. however.. with no other regimes atm.. i tried it tonight.. the first thing i have to see is wow.. i cant believe how smooth my skin feels rights now.. and i cant believe i just used that same BP cleanser i tried months ago..and my skin doesnt feel at all burned or dry.. i think the tip about how much and how to apply the BP helps..

now the real test.. over the next few weeks can it prevent breakouts.. will keep posted.. so far, i'm impressed... it'll be ironic if this works for me and i had the damn things in my bathroom this whole time. fingers crossed..

has anyone tried the other continous control product made by CC? It comes in a purple pump bottle and is a watery/liquid substance instead of a cream. It also contains 2% sa. Just wondering if it is just as good or worse?

thanks

The store I got my stuff at didn't carry the blackhead SA wash, so I got CandC Advantage instead. It's a SA base wash, so I figured it didn't differ too much, is this ok?

Hello all,

I have just recently discovered this website and these boards, and would like to greatly thank Dan and Botchla for spending so much time helping others. I hope that I will have as good as results as the rest of you seem to have.

I am currently on day 2 using a spin off of Botchla/Dan's regime, due to lack of resources (I havent been able to go buy the C&C stuff yet).

I was wondering, does the brand of cleanser containing SA matter greatly? I currently am using Phisoderm (2% SA) as a cleanser, and 2.5% BP Proactive repairing solution (gel) as substitutes for the products mentioned here. Botchla seems to highly recommend the C&C products, but I hate to waste money, especially since I just spend 20 dollars on two tubes of Dan's BP. So I guess what I'm wondering is if by using 2% SA Phisoderm and a 2.5% BP gel 2x a day will achieve the same results (or similar) to what Botchla's method has done for many other people. Have any of you had experience with Phisoderm + Gel (not wash)? Sorry if my post wasnt exactly clear... its late at night and I've spent thel last 3 hours reading through posts

Your responses to my inquiry are greatly appreciated!

-Ted

Well heres my story:

I have had mild acne since i was 13 (im 15 now) which has migrated from my jaws, to my temples and forehead. Ive had a few cysts/nodules since then (maybe 1 every 4-5 months) Mostly its been white heads, max about 3-4 active at a time. sometimes none if im lucky. The thing for me is that after the acne legion is gone, it leaves a dark spot (hyperpigmented) which takes a few months to go away. Ive never had probs with scarring. (knock on wood ) As a result my skin is not as flawless as my younger years as i have some very faint dark marks on my jaws and some on my sides. It was time to see a doc, so my mom asked him how i can get my face more even. He said even tho my face is still pretty mild, he prescribed a anti-biotic topical pad (i tihnk it had like 2% ery something). This didnt have much affect but i kept using it as it helped a little.

The thing is i had to go on vacation this beg. of aug and i had just ran out of the meds, so i went searching the net for something that can replace my pads. I saw botchlas regimen and decided to use my neutragena deep clean with SA and Neatrogena clear pore with 3.5% BP. Well i went on vacation and a few days later, i experienced a pretty big breakout. "These products suck!" As we came home, i decided to go for CC instead of Neutrogena. I got the CC C&C cream but not the SA yet. I had used the C&C BP CC wash during track season and i had about 1 pimple every month in-season, so i knew it worked. In order to reduce the initial breakout, i used the BP cream for a week and a half then started using the sa and bp together.

This has worked pretty good. When using only the bp wash for a bit before using both washes together, it gives ur skin time to get used to the wash as well as lessen or completely eliminate an initial breakout.

Additonally, I thought about what happened over the past 2 years and came up with this:

1.Once taken off an anti-biotic,(for me it was the absence of ery pads) ur skin usually breaksout a little more than usual. SO it wasnt neccesarily neutrogena products making it worse.

2. If u end ur anti-biotics or meds abrutly, u will probably experince a breakout, so try to slowly tone it down while incorporating using the C&C bp CC wash, then finally the SA

3. Drink lots of water, around a liter a day works for me. I think the reason why my acne was so good during track season is because i drank about 2 .5L bottles a day. Also all the running can boost up ur body's response to infections and diseases. A combination of water and excercise gives a significant boost in ur body's capability of handling acne.

So i reccommend using the C&C bp CC wash first for about 1-1/2 weeks first and then joining both products. Be sure to chug that water too, and try to excercise a little everyday if u can.

I hope this helps.

Well it's day 9 for me. My face has gotten a lot smoother and most of the little white thingy's coming outta my face are gone. I still have some blackheads around my face... And I don't think the "initial breakout" is done I guess. I'm thinkin of just doin the BP cleanser for awhile like drifter88 said, but I dunno cause I'm already 9 days into using both so maybe I should just keep goin and just deal with the "initial breakout." how long is the "initial breakout" anywayz? I'm gettin tired of this acne BS!!!!!

well i'm into day 3, and i'm sorry to say i've broken out terribly, worse than i have in a long time. right now i am thinking about substituting the scrub for a regular SA cleanser without beads... in the past scrubs have always made me break out..and i think this one may be doing the same.. my complexion also seems very kinda dark .. i have a lot coming up this week.. so dont know if i can bare through this getting worse.. i may just do BP cleanser for a week.. until i can get my hands on some regular SA cleanser to substiture the BCS (preferably one by C+C)

Don't let that breakout discourage you. It happened to almost all of us as well. It will probably do that for a few days and start to clear up. It's simply the initial breakout period.

Just keep using the regimen as written. Give it at least two weeks. I'm still breaking out a bit, and I'm on day 9 or 10 now, but I can definitely see an improvement. Hopefully I'll clear up and stay that way like Botchla did.

i find that its good to scrub VERY gently using the sa, cuz of those damn hard beads. Its like washing with rocks. You can apply it a bit harder for the bp wash, but still want to be gentle. Dont think scrubing harder will deposit more bp into the skin, it doesn't. The most it does is avvragate the skin.

How about using a SA 2% spray and some On-the-Spot style Bp Cream together?

I have a totally different cleanser and mositurzier.

but what do you think of using medication creams instead of the actual cleansers with the medicine built in?

I started off following the regimen normally, but after seeing no irritation with my skin, I use the BP and SA twice daily. I still feel NO dryness or irritation, but apparently this isn't always the case. My skin's looking pretty good right now, you might want to try using both twice a day for a few days. If you experience irritation, just cut back to one BP wash per day.

i'm wondering if this regime is more succesfull for a younger age group? i'm 29, dealing with my second lifetime battle with acne (my first started at 16 and ended at 20 with accutane). anyhow, i am going to try using both morning and night for a while. my gut feeling about the bp cleanser is that its about as effective as a cream..meaning it will continue working on your skin for maybe 12 hours or so after you use it.. therefore it makes sense to use it in the am to have it work throughout the day.

These 2 products work great!!! Just been using them for two days but I completely feel a different in my skin after washing with these products, it feels like my skin can breathe again and that it is really clean!

Also it clears superfast!!!!

great work in discovering these products!!! Id probably suggest that if u have severe acne that after the washes, at night you put a 2.5% BP if you are finding that your skin can handle it without becoming dry!

Can anyone suggest a 2 - 2.5 BP cleanser. The 10% C&C one is a little harsh for me. Thanks.

What I do is....with warm water get my face wet then I do the SA wash..I put some in my hand and run a bit of water with it then I apply to face ( rub in for 45 seconds gently) ..pat my face dry...then I wet my face again...put some of the BP wash in my hand, mix with alittle water then rub in for 45 seconds all over face..then pat dry!!!

why are you drying inbetween washes? you're likely to dry the skin more i'd think. anyhow.. i am applying the SA similar to the BP, i spread it out using my palms before applying all over face gently.

i have much more problems with the SA tho, it seems using a small amount (similar to amount of BP) doesnt really get a good lather going for my whole face.. i have to use about twice the amount i am using of the BP to get good coverage.

For all the people that have found success, or not, with this regimen, how many of you have cystic acne(infected acne that generally becomes big with a white puss)? That's what I have and I'm skeptical about whether this regimen should help or not. I just wanted to get a feel of the different types of skin conditions all you people that have found success with, or not, with this regimen. Thanks and please post because it will really help everyone out!

Well, I guess it's big cuz of all the nasty white puss it's filled with. Also there's usually a few that develops around the surroudning area.
