I am about 4 days into this routine of using both the sa and bp twice a day. At first it seemed as if my old acne was drying up and making great improvement, now it seems as though my face is a little red and some small ones have formed (I am prone to the cysts). Is it just bringing them to the surface or is this braking me out because it is not working for me? Has anybody else noticed they broke out a little at first and did it heal by drying up only to get better, or has anybody had continual brake-outs on this? I will continue on for now, after all nothing thus far has worked not even the tetracycline I have been on for 5 weeks.

Danielle, I noticed that when I initially started using it I had the same problem you did where I thought I was breaking out more. But what it was was everything coming to the surface. Now those that came to the surface are drying up and healing and I since have not had any new breakouts. So I would say stick with it for at least a couple of weeks and see what happens. If you feel like it's drying you out too much and your skin is gettin flaky, then just make sure you use a good moisturizer. Or maybe only use SA wash twice a day but the BP wash only at night. Good luck!

I'm starting my third day and it seems to be bringing everything to the surface too. Going to stick with it though. I've been on Retin-A, Plexion, Brevoxyl, and minocycline. All at the same time. No great improvments with that so...

Is it o.k. to use the bp10% on-the-spot in addition to this treatment. I am not using it all over my face, only on the exsisting acne that has been brought to the surface from this routine. I'm 30 years old, will this ever end!!!!

hey.. i'm on topical treatments and my tubes are almost empty.. here is what i'm going to do. i'm going to TRY your regimen from oct 27- nov 17th. that is 3 weeks. that is seriously as long as i'm going to give it.. and if my face is looking better than i will cancel my dermatologist appointment and start using these products. since i'm on topical creams i think everything should be ' brought to the surface' since i've been on them for 4 months so do you think these 2 products will break me out?? also i have phisoderm face wash that i just bought yesterday(before reading this) and it is 2% salicylic acid. i have used this product before so i'm aware it doesn't irritate me... should i just buy the continous control? btw.. i have used that before, when i didnt really have ''acne" but it was the pump kind that comes out like foam, not like the kind in the pic.. is that any different? it has the exact same name

btw.. what exactly have been been on before using these products? any topical treatments or pills?

Well I have been on this treatment a week and my face is really braking out (everything coming to the surface) how do I know if this is working or making me worse? How much time before you start to not brake out anymore? My face is so dry and my lips as well, I need to only do the bp once a day. Also for you ladies out there, waxing on your face or a hair removal cream will burn your face if you are doing this treatment (trust me, my face has not stopped burning for 2 days).

danielle, maybe your skin is just too sensitive for this. personally, i never had an initial breakout on this routine.. so i don't know, maybe your breakout is being caused by your skin being too irritated or something? i'm sorry you're having probs.

I never broke out from this either. You may want to stop and use something that won't irritate your skin so much. My skin is also not that dry although I hardly use the BP on the spot stuff anymore either. =;

I've been on this regimen for 2 weeks and so far so good. I have still been getting a small pimple here and there but that could still be some things coming to the surface. Overall though I am very pleased and will continue to do this regimen. I also love the fact that it's so simple.

Would I even need to use Glycolic Acid every once in a while to exfoliate or do I get that with the 2 products I'm using already?

Yes. You can use whatever, until you get too dry or something. I have been using Mandelic Acid and Lactic Acid like 3 times a week at night. If my skin gets too dry I just use a strong moisturizer the next night. Works fine.

Well after two weeks on this routine I had to stop, it was making my face brake out worse then ever and over drying it. I am glad it is working for most of you and it was worth a try for me to see if this would help. Plexion seems to be the only cleanser to clear me up. My Dr. has just put me on Bactrim and I will wait and see how that goes. Has anybody else out there tried Bactrim (I put it under the prescription catagory and nobody responded) any input on that would be greatly appreciated.

I was put on Bactrim for a sinus infection? My doc put me on minocycline for a few months and Yasmin and it helped clear up the acne. I haven't heard of Bactrim for acne related things, but you can read about any drug on the internet too. 8-[

Well, I have been on sort of this same regimen for about 3 weeks. Here is my routine:

Morning:

Wash face with both C&C products

Apply C&C Dual Action Moisturizer

Apply Clinac for oil control

Evening:

Wash face with both C&C products

Apply mandelic serum(if you have not tried this, I STRONGLY recommend everyone buy some, this is THE most awesome stuff ever!!!)

Apply jojoba oil

I am 28 years old and have acne since I was about 12. I was on proactive for awhile and it helped, but due to having to order a new kit every 3-4 weeks and proactive was taking from my credit card at random times, I had to find something new. Well, I must say, that as of today, my skin has not looked better since I was 11 years old. No lie. I had 2 really big red/purple marks on both cheeks from recent cysts and you can barely see them now. My skin only peeled slightly around my mouth from the mandelic for the first 2 days. My skin is sooooooo soft and no pimples, barely any red marks(very faint pink) and I have given up wearing makeup on a day to day basis. At my office, a few people have mentioned that my skin looks really good (and I promise you that has never been said to me before) I am just really thrilled and I hope it lasts. I really feel that the mandelic serum has had more to do with my situation that anything else, but the C&C products are really good at sloughing off the dead skin that the mandelic serum creates. Overall, I am so happy and extremely excited to have finally found something that seems to work. Every other product I have ever used (even proactive) has never left me clear for 2 weeks straight. That's why I really feel that I have found my solution.

I got mine from skincarerx.com. If you check the scar forum, there is a HUGE thread regarding mandelic. I could go on and on about it, but if you read that thread, you will get the entire explanation. It was 30.99+tax and shipping. I live in the states and mine came in 2 days. It is a 4 oz. bottle, but it really lasts a long time. Brief explanation: It is an AHA that really helps with pimples, red marks, makes skin sooooo soft, etc. I don't have scars, so not sure how it does in that area, but if you read the thread in the scar forum, you will get an idea on how it helps with scars too.

I got it at SkincareRX too. Even my doctor commented on how good my scar looked. It's only a matter of a month or two and my scar will be gone I hope! Mandelic rocks.

Jenn4Dex, it is awesome, isn't it. My daughter even told me my skin is so soft and my 9 year old son(who always tells it like it is ) told me my pimples and red dots had went away( how nice :-k ). I just want to tell everyone about it.

Branded, do you use it every night? I have only been using it a few times a week. I guess I could try using it more to speed up the process.

I do use it every night, but only at night. I think the drying would be too much to use it twice a day. I really only had flaking for the first 2 days and it was only around my mouth, but I use really good moisturizers and that probably helped. I do remember blue(in the scar forum) saying that after about the 56th day she broke out a little, so a little tolerance might build up. If that is the case and that happens to me, I plan on "tricking" my skin and use it every other day or 2 days on 1 day off, whatever. So many people have had such good luck with this, however, that I think I am on the right track and I just hope it lasts. It makes me wonder, though, can you really build up a tolerance for an AHA? I mean the job of a AHA is to exfoliate and bring new cells to the surface, so can you really develop a tolerance to that? I'm hoping not. But, for now, I look good and I wake up and don't have to worry about what pimples have developed over night and that makes me very happy.

These two products really work well together. I have mostly troublesome blackheads and a few pimples at this point, but I've been on these two products for only 8 days and have noticed a lot of improvement. It's simple but it works. I use them in the shower; shave with the BP wash because it's creamy and then use the SA wash. I repeat this in the evening. Don't try and substitue other products you may already have because I've combined BP and SA in the past without great results. For some reason these two particular products work well together. Try it!

About the Mandelic Serum, do you dab a little on the red marks or all over the face? Can you tell me the brand that you all buy, thanks!
