The Clean and Clear Morning Glow moisturizer is awesome. It doesn't make my face oily or greasy at ALL, even by the end of the day. It doesn't have any acne medication in it either, so you don't have to worry about a chemical burn with more salicylic acid or whatever. It also has SPF 15 in it, a great plus! I've been using it for a week and it's made my skin so much smoother and softer. Check out the reviews on makeupalley.com to get more of an idea.

I really like it too, BUT one day after i put it on i went to my friends house. while i was there i had to use the bathroom, and i look in the mirror and i was like"WTF" there were all these little peices of glitter all over my face. ever since then i have never put it on. i only use it at night

I've been doing this regimen for @4 days. I had a bad breakout just prior to starting, and after one day botchla's regimen seemed to all but stiffle it. Now (day 4), I'm breaking out all over my t zone with these little red bumps. Has anyone experienced this breakout and gone on to see positive results???

Porad, this topic has been brought up countless times on this same thread. I know it's quite long. So, a quick answer to your question...Yes, it is not uncommon to break out when first starting this. I did. But it goes away as you continue.

Sorry, I did read through about 30 pages or so.. but it seemed most of the people that got a breakout either bailed and failed to update their status. Thanks for the reply

I think the important thing is the salicylic (sp) acid for the exfoliation.. If it has that, and isn't too harsh for your skin, I don't think it would matter.

What the fuck..... It's been a week since i started this regimen and I've had some pretty consistent breakouts. I just got back from the mirror and I'm seeing a TON of red zits about the come to the surface EVERYWHERE. I've only ever had minor acne.. Shit, I think I'm going to have to jump ship on this regimen.

Porad... i know how you're feeling.. I'm starting this regimine again about a week or so ago and I'm still getting some little pimples that are basically all in the same area on my face. I used this regime many months ago and got totally clear from it. Stupidly, I stopped doing it because I was acne free and started using different products and broke out pretty bad (partly due to an allergic reaction). So, i'm starting from the beginning again, but this regime does seem to work really well. You just have to give it time. Make sure not to scrub too hard. Be gentle, it makes a difference.

Hope things work out for you.

hey Porad:

If i remember it correctly, i started to clear up significantly after the 4th week.. i had an initial breakout which wasn't as severe as my breakout in the 3rd week.. that was when i wanted to give up this reg.. then i just thought hey i'll just finish these two bottles... after the 4th week, everything has been so amazing.. you do still get some pimples.. but they are tiny whiteheads which dry up and pill off quickly.. redmark will start to fade away in your 2nd month on this reg... and after the 4th mon, you should see a decrease in the # of blackheads you are getting.. if you get any... after 2nd month.. everything is just quite stable...

make sure you wash your face at a regular time.. like.. i wash mine at 12pm no matter what happens.. and around 8 in the morning.. so you form a routine you just follow..

one more thing.. if you get a white head.. dab a bit of continuous control cleanser on the whitehead.. it should dry up even faster... i sometimes leave it on during the day.. a thin layer.. u can't see it...

and i don't know if you moisturize or not.. well.. i moisturize in the morning with a SPF 15 lotion... (biotherm).. it's amazing.. and i tried to moisturize at night.. but i get breakouts... so i stopped that... another thing.. u may get really rough and dry skin in the first 2 or 3 weeks.. but don't worry.. they'll go away.. my skin is so smooth now my bf is like.. omg.. haha.. i love touching you face..

anyway.. i hope this is enough. if any of u have more question... talk to me on msn... [Edite info out].. i don't go on the site that much now.. good luck to you... and everyone that's on the reg... give it some time...

I really wish I could stick it out.. I mean a breakout of 4 to 5 zits is managable for me, but I saw literally 30 coming to the surface!!! I work in front of people all day (bank teller) and it's just too hard to keep going Even if it might be smooth sailing a month or two down the road, I just can't work like that.. my self esteem is low enough. If I were someone with more than minor acne, I wouldn't mind as much but I'm not so it's irrelevant. Of note, I did use both washes yesterday in the morning AND at night and I'm sure that didn't help matters.

Thanks for your post morphinebb, I appreciate it. Goodluck to people still on it, I'm not trying to discourage anyone. This may very well be just an intial breakout, but I just can't tough it out:(

ps: the thing that really scared me with the onslaught of 4 or so cysts.

I wish Botchla would come like every month to give a lil' update... but if he isn't, I guess we can assume things are going well

This is a wicked combination and please proceed with caution. The dryness and scaling will almost definitely be present unless you are LIKE LEATHERFACE.

Dryness is common when using any Benzoyl Peroxide of any strength. Just make sure to use a moisturizer and you'll be fine.

Good luck

Hey all, 'nother new guy here in Australia.

I just bought the two 'Botchla's Regimen' products here in Australia, but they are slightly different to those obviously found in the US.

Firstly, the BP in the continuous control cleanser is only 5%

..and the Blackhead clearing scrub is actually called Blackhead clearing cleanser (same bottle, same beads, different name I suppose. Perhaps us Aussies are offended by scrubbing??? )

Anyways, my question (yes I actually have one) is whether it might be ok to do the regimen in reverse, if you will. I.e BP twice a day and SA once a day.

The reason I ask is a) the BP is half as strong as the one in the regimen, and b ) on the SA cleanser (scrub) it suggests using only once a day, while the BP it suggests up to twice a day.

SO, in short, is it ok to do BP morning, BP & SA night?

Thanks in advance!

Hey Taumann, it might be a bit harsh, but it's worth a try.... The BP is more harsh than the SA though, so using it twice a day with the SA might kill your skin. I personally cannot use the BP and SA together anymore. My face became way too flakey. Try it out and see how it goes. Your skin is probably not as sensitive as mine.

Sure you can use the BP wash twice a day. I'm in America and use the 10% version twice a day. Actually I use both washes twice a day and my skin is not overly irritated. I also use aloe vera gel afterwards which helps to calm and moisturize your skin. This routine has been very effective for me.

Hey, I just have a quick question. If your skin is very sensitive to BP, could another cleanser containing something like tea tree oil be used in combination with the Blackhead Clearing scrub? I ask this because i just looked over several pages of this thread and found that if another Salacylic acid wash is used (such as nuetrogena's oil free wash) then the regimine will not be nearly as effective, so I am basically wondering if the same applies when the BP wash is substituted by tea tree or another natural, less irritating antisceptic.

so basically:

morning: C&C Blackhead clearing scrub

evening: C&C Blackhead clearing scrub followed by tea tree oil cleanser (instead of 10% BP)

Where did you find that? I find that if you use both they are way more effective than using one. What strength bp are you using? Try 2.5%

has anyone had any experience with using the St. Ives medicated face wash with SA in it? would using this as the wash and then using BP work?

St. Ives is harsh on my skin, other than that I think Salicylic Acid is Salicylic Acid, whats the strength, 2%? Then yes it shouldn't matter.

I've seen this post millions of times but never checked it out, and I would always wonder what the hell is Botchla's regimen. Well now I feel like an idiot.

Anyways, I'm gonna give this a try. My face has a few marks left that I don't really feel like taking anything like antibiotics for, so hopefully this will help.
