Here's an update from me. It's been 2 weeks since I switched from Dan's Regimen to this one. I'm still 100% clear and my skin looks and feels very nice. Only problem is that my skin is back to being pretty oily but that doesn't have anything to do with these products, it's just naturally like that (but only on and around the nose and on the chin). So tomorrow I'm gonna get myself some Jojoba oil and hope that it decreases the oil production.
does anyone use the 5% BP Clean and Clear wash?? I only use it once a day and it still makes me dry grrr, im buying the new Clean and Clear Shine Control Moisturizer this weekend i hear its a good one and not medicated!
In the morn i wash with SA wash and at night i use the SA wash followed by the BP wash, am I doing it right???
been using the regimen for 8-9 weeks i think (i lost count)
working great still, except blackheads aren't going away. otherwise i'd say i'm 95% clear, and have been for a while.
one tip: listen to botchla when he says MASSAGE GENTLY!!!!!!!
i think i started rubbing harder, thinking it would work better. instead i started breaking out. i re-read his initial post to see if i was doing anything wrong, and decided to massage extra-gently. the break-out was gone within a few days.
This regimen definitely worked for me.My face is so much better than the past however many years.
And yes, massage gently.Scrubbing your face hard(as with anything else) with those beads will just irritate your face.
Just follow Botchla's directions, you'll be ok.And don't give in even if you initially see breakouts.I didn't and it has payed off handsomely.
I use "California North Action Moisturizer".
Okay I have been doing this regimen for over two months and I'm going to describe my results, give a couple of tips, and ask a question...
To give some background, I am an 18 year old male. I have had mild acne for several years, and it always bothered me that my face was clear except for a few pimples. I know some of you are thinking you have it much worse, and I'm sure you do, but realize it's annoying because when you don't have that much acne, the 1-3 pimples you do have really stand out. Oh, also I have had dry skin problems for the past few years, and this is in part due to the dry climate I live in. My face goes from slightly dry to really dry and gross-looking. I always have to use moisturizer, and my face is still visibly dry sometimes.
Anyway, so I found Dan's regimen and decided to give it a shot. Bad idea in my case--although I tried to start out slow my face turned red and became extremely dry. Worse than it had ever been. My face is sensitive already, and this was way too much. It looked like a bad sunburn but only from eye-level down (I didn't get acne on my forehead much). So that was embarassing to go to school. Oh well, after some time I got better. I had done the regimen for less than two weeks, but how bad I looked wasn't worthwhile for possible success later. I used pure aloe vera (I have a plant) to help cure the severe dry skin, and as a side note I think that aloe vera causes acne (for me at least). It is very good for the skin, however, so it's a trade-off.
So then I tried "the Botchla Regimen." So smooth...mmm...I liked how my face felt but it only helped a little. Interestingly, my skin wasn't any drier from it, and in fact at times it wasn't dry at all. Occasionally, I can go out in the morning without using any moisturizer! Somehow this regimen has helped my dry skin problem and my acne at the same time! Perhaps my skin was already used to BP from my attempt at Dan's regimen, and that's why I could handle it without the initial redness/dryness that some report.
Anyway, I stuck with Botchla's, although I was never able to do it twice a day continuously for longer than a week. I would do it at 8am and 8pm Monday through Thursday, but then Friday I'd be out with friends and not get home until 3am, when I would finally get to wash with both C&C products. Over the next few days I'd break out. A word of advice--never miss a day, especially when starting out! Basically, I think that this cure is effective, but it also makes it so that when you don't do it, you break out more than you would have in the first place. So it's great, but you gotta stick with it, and do it as close to every twelve hours as you can. Anyone agree with me here?
Along the lines of what I just said, I started to get acne in areas that I didn't use to when I started this regimen. Especially around the edges of my face. I'm pretty sure this was caused by me covering certain areas of my face with the C&C products on certain days, and not other days. So stuff was brought to the surface after the main areas of my face were clear and had already been cleaned out. Advice: cover your entire face, wash the exact same area each times, and don't miss the edges.
I am pretty clear at the moment; no new acne, just redness from old pimples. I use the SA in the morning, and both at night, but whenever I go for awhile without a wash (Fridays for example) I use both the next few times to "catch up" I guess. I also use On-The-Spot for new pimples but just on the actual pimple and not all over my face. For moisturizing, I use Cetaphil Moisturizer--by far the most effective moisturizer. I have tried many different brands, and although I can't say for sure which ones cause acne and which ones don't, Cetaphil gets rid of your dry skin and works until you wash it off. If I use any other moisturizer, I will look good for two hours and then be a dry, ugly mess.
Okay, my question: Around the time that I started Botchla's regimen, I started to get acne on certain parts of my body. I hope I don't discourage anyone from using this regimen, but I had never gotten acne anywhere besides my face and now suddenly I get pimples on my thighs, a little below my waistline (hidden by boxers), and on my chest. Nothing extreme, but definitely there. At the moment I have one pimple in the center of my chest, small red dots around that area, a few pimples below my waistline, and almost ten spots on my thighs (mostly inner thigh) from acne I got over the past month. This could have nothing to do with the regimen, but it's a strange coincidence. One theory is that when I do the regimen in the shower and wash it off, it covers those parts of my body for a brief period of time, bringing acne to the surface that otherwise wouldn't have come up. Is anyone else having this problem? I'm going to purchase some Dial Antibacterial Body Wash because I've heard that helps, and I hope this doesn't persist.
Sorry for such a long post, but I hope this helps some people out, and I want to know if anyone else is having the same problem I'm having. Overall great regimen, and thank you Botchla!
I too, have experienced some wierd stuff on Botchla's regimen.
After using b5 for 2 weeks, I went to target and bought the 2 C&C products listed above. I've been using them for a little over a week now. This regimen does cause excessive dryness for me though, and I use the SA wash in the morning and at night I use both the SA wash and BP. My forehead had been almost zit free, with only a few red marks left. My cheeks however, looked pretty bad. On thursday I was in a rush to school in the morning (at 7:00 am) and I forgot to take my morning dose of b5. (The bottle was sitting in my kitchen.) I had to wait until 3:00 pm before I could take the first dose. Since then, I have decided to put some b5 pills in a medicine container and keep it in my backpack so this never happens again.
On friday, my forehead broke out with 3 huge whiteheads in a very weird formation; they were all in the same area, if you connected the dots, they formed a triangle. This was VERY obvious too, since they were so big and noticeable on my mostly clear forehead. So rather than run the risk of being ridiculed at school on Friday, I just stayed home.
This formation is still there, but the swelling has gone down somewhat. One of them appears to be going away, but 2 large whiteheads are left. My forehead has also gotten a few more new whiteheads, and it just generally looks like crap.
However, my cheeks and nose look like they are clearing up now! It seems that when one part of my face is clearing, another part just erupts like a volcano.
When I put the SA and BP on last night, my face got REALLY dried out, and it still felt dry after I put the SA on this morning. Right now (at 8:00 pm) it doesnt feel as dry as it did. I guess I should go get a moisterizer too...
Tip for everybody: Do NOT skip a dose of b5, OR skip a day on this regimen. Your face may just explode like mine has.
I hate acne...
Crap. After using this regimen for about a week, my face is getting REALLY dried out, to the point where it hurts to smile or move my face in any way ](*,)
I do this regimen exactly as it is described on the first page; SA in the morning, then both at night. I rub it around as gently as possible, but for some reason my skin is getting very dry.
I finally gave up and just rubbed some neutrogena oil-free moisturizer for sensative skin on all of the dried areas, would anybody advise against this? Or is it ok to use a moisturizer in conjuction with this regimen, and stop whenever the dryness goes away?
Also, for some reason the black beads in the Blackhead Clearing Scrub seem to get stuck in some of my pores, and I have to kind of pop the pores in order to get them out... when they get stuck in a pore, what should i do? Should i just leave it there until it comes out on its own, or force it out?
I've found a link to this thread on another message board about 2 weeks ago. So about 1.5 weeks ago I started this regimen and my face is really starting to clear up. I get cysts every once in awhile, also had some when I started this regimen. My pimples dried up quick and healed a lot faster. The first few days my face was really dry but not as much anymore. I'll probably get some moisturizer soon. However, I did get 2 or 3 small pimples since starting this regimen around my cheek area, but I think it was because I normally sleep on my stomach. They did dry up quick and are a lot smaller than usual.
Hey whats up guys? I just registered to talk about my progress with the Botchla method. This is my 2nd week and my face is looking tons better so far. Still red though but a lot better. I'm also taking in 2.5g of B5 a day. I did try proactive for about 8 months but it sucks, never really got rid of the redness or whiteheads. Now when I wake up in the moring I don't have to worry about a lot of whiteheads that have appeared, usually theres only one or two now that I can get rid of easily. I decided to use the 10% BP cream twice a day rather than once since I figured my skin was quite used to the previous regimen of proactiv. So far so good. I've had really bad acne for about three or four years and this method rocks. Thanks a lot Botchla.
Ok, Dan's regimen isn't really workin THAT well, my face is clearing a little bit but its incredibally red. I'm thinking of starthing the (from what i've heard) cheeper and more effective "Botchlas Regimen." This regimen with 10g's of B5 daily and washing my face with a Basis cleasing bar in the morning would be my regimen. Any suggestions on how to clear up my moderate-bad acne? What should I throw in my regimen, what should I consider before dropping Dan's? ANYTHING! Thanks Everyone!

has any1 else been using this regimen with glycolic acid? I only put it on at night cause it makes my skin look oily during the day. I had been using this regimen for about 3 months or more and it works pretty good but my face didn't have that smoothness to it. I started using the glycolic acid about a week ago and it gives me a baby face and it helps with the healing.
Hi There...
Checked out this site.......very interesting. I just bought the C&C 10% BP. I used it along with SA and my neck....where I did not apply regime...broke out in rash! ugh. I have, I would say mild/moderate acne..small cysts along jaw-line. I had prescription for Avita (Retin A) and antibiotics like 4 years ago and it worked great......now, I am breaking out again and can't see dermatoligist until next month. I didn't get acne until I turned 30!!! I turn 35 this year...and it comes back..dammit! Anyway, I think the BP and SA regime is solid, but damn, the BP is rough! Any suggestion until I see doc? (Heavvy sigh)
