Is anyone doing this regimen only at night (2 washes at night, no morning) and seeing good results? I'm using the SA wash in the morning and both at night. It seems like this regimen is working very well for the lower part of my face. However, ever since I started using the regimen my forehead (which never breaks out) is developing some small blackheads and whiteheads. Did anyone experience this and did it go away?
Menthol is a potential skin irritant. I think it fools you into thinking it's working, but it's just a tingly effect.
Yep. That's what I said as well. It's kind of lame that they have to do that so they can trick the users, but whatever. It -is- a nice feeling if you use an appropriate amount of the BP cleanser. Too much, and the menthol stings like a bitch!
Acneman, SA does that to me too...... I've never had blackheads or whiteheads before but they started coming out when I used SA and BP( i stopped BP now though)...... and come out they did in places I've never had them before-like in the forehead, b/w the eye brows and in my chin. I kinda think its caused by the SA...... but so far I like C&C acne foam wash....

Thanks for the reply. Did they dissappear once you stop doing the BP? Are you getting good results with Botchla's regimen?
QuoteNope acneman.... they remained even after I stopped the BP. I just started on Retin A Micro so I'm hoping it will take care of the bumps in time. [-o< Anyway, I'm still using C&C SA wash... I like it better than Neutrogena which is very drying to the skin.
I'm thinking that maybe since SA normalizes skin cell shedding, maybe my forehead (since it never broke out before) had normal skin cell shedding already and the SA is doing the opposite effect. Basically, maybe we shouldn't apply SA on areas where acne is not present. I'm going to continue using the SA and BP but only on the lower part of my face where my acne is somewhat still active.
As a sidenote, I noticed that when I had body acne (chest and back) I applied SA on my arms as well (which never broke out) and the same thing happened, they started getting little blackeheads and whiteheads. Once I stopped using SA on my body (currently just using Dial Antibacterial Soap) the little bumps on my arms went away and my body acne is basically 99% clear.
Acneman, Thats how i cleared my body acne for good.. just using Dial Antibacterial BodyWash.. its strange how easy it cleared too.. I keep on thinking, \"Hmmmmm.. if it worked so well for my body, how about my face?\" Im scared to try it.
Yeah I know and its funny how I chose Dial Antibacterial. I basically gave up on salicylic acid for body acne treatment and decided to buy a regular soap and chose Dial. Within about 2 months my body acne was basically gone and I used to have moderate (pustules, etc). I'm also thinking maybe it'll work on my face as well but I'm afraid to try too.
QUESTION FOR BOTCHLA: When and what do you shave with? I am starting to shave in the morning.. do you think I should shave at night so my skin is more open for the BP.. I dont know.
i just shave with a normal double bladed disposable razor (schick ST). as for the shaving cream, i have never used shaving cream my entire life, i've always just shaved with water. some people find that strange, but i never liked the fuss of using shaving cream (plus i don't like the fact that i can't see where there is hair left).
as for when i shave, i do it just before my regimen. like if i do it at night, i just shave and then while my face is still wet, go into the regimen. there's no need to wait after you shave. i think it's ok either morning or night. but yeah i do think after you shave your pores are more open/clear cause the razor just took off the top layer of dead skin.
Jeezzz.... maybe SA or BP really does that to normal skin...... makes little blackheads and whiteheads appear because they are trying to pull the crap out... I would stop using SA then if that is the case. I'll ask the dermatologist about that tomorrow.... hopefully my derm would not be as jack-assed as my regular doctor who just looked at me and started scribbling prescriptions.... the waiting time was even 4 times longer than the actual time he saw me, HMPH!

Good idea, ask him if SA can actually disrupt normal skin cell shedding of normal skin.
iv been on it almost a month and started getting clear over a week to nearly two weeks ago
and im 98% clear and improving
although i gotta say i started seeing results after i added a couple more things to the regimen
i wash with the SA and BP like blotcha sais in the MORNING and at NIGHT.
then in the morning i apply a good layer of MANDELIC ACID SERUM
and at night after washing i apply a THIN layer of 2.5 BP
i also take 50mg of zinc.. although i have been for the past 2 months
wow this is amazing.... my black heads are 98% gone and b4 my nose was blackhead and clogged pores central
lol
Well congrats PurePersian. Im on day 3 and I still have alot of tiny whiteheads to get rid of. Im going to back home for christmas.. I always seem to clear up when back home..
P.S - I will probably be going to tanning bed too. Do you guys think its ok to tan for a few minutes a day since I only use SA during the day.. I only use BP at night..
Ok it's now been a month and three weeks. Time to report. I'm very happy to say that I'm 98% clear and have almost no blackheads. I did cut back to using it only once a day though, since after about the first two weeks my face started getting really dry. Probably the colder weather is a factor as well. All that is left is these damn red spots. I'm about to give in and try mandelic acid. I'm a bit skeptical because I've bought lots of shit that supposed to help but never saw anything from it (I'm sure everyone can relate to this). Thanks Botchla for helping me find something that is so effective. Being cost efficient is a huge bonus too.

i started this regimen about a week ago and i'm happy to say that i have virtually no acne on my face right now. the red spots still remain but at least my face isn't all bumpy.
as for moisturizers, i use one made by neutrogena that has 0.5% salicylic acid in it, so it helps clean out my pores during the day while keeping my skin from turning dry.
