BP was making me really dry, but I started mixing a bit of moisturizer in with the BP and that has changed everything... I put about 1/3 of the Acne.org moisturizer with the Acne.org BP and about 15 mins later, when it's dry, I apply some more moisturizer.
I only use BP at night and then alternating AHA or BHA during the day (along with sunscreen). It's really helped and my skin isn't dry, even though it's getting cold here.....
I think if you have dry, sensitive skin, having a bit of moisturizer directly with BP can help. Also, there are many some BP products that have moisturizer and BP (Proactive, Clean&Clear and some others). I really like the Acne.org products though because they are so basic and unscented.
I am going to try this method tonight actually because the jojoba oil and AHA came into today but my question has to do with AHA. Do you think it would be ok to us AHA as the moisturizer instead of the regular moisturizer that came with the regiment after doing this jojoba method? I only ask this question because I haven't used AHA yet but I've heard this can clear flakiness as well, but was not sure if it would be ok to use it the same night after I use this jojoba method. I heard that my skin would have to take some time for it to get use to AHA, since this is the first time trying this jojoba method.

How long have you been on the regimen?
I would suggest you use jojoba+moisturizer before getting on AHA to see how jojoba works on your skin then you can compare results afterwards with AHA.

I think youre supposed to "purge" on this regimen ... well basically breakout but it depends on how your skin reacts to the BP . After you breakout it clears as many have said but youre supposed to try it for at least 3-4 months so a fews weeks arent really going to give you much result . Im on my 4th week and my results arent that great at the moment but im sticking through it Good Luck !
i've been on the regimen for 4 weeks now (feels a lot longer)... i thought the dryness and flakinness or at least the breatouts would stop at some point. i'm so sick of trying to hide my face. this morning i didn't apply the BP because i look horrible. is it a really bad idea to try using it only at night for a while until the flakiness goes down a little? i used so much moisturizer and jojoba oil but it didn't help at all. i feel like i can't follow through with the regimen because of the flakiness - it's so embarassing. these days i'm thinking i was lucky when there where "only" pimples on my face. also i'm not very convinced that the regimen will work for me. i'm one of these persons who will never get clear; i've tried so many things already. it's gotten to the point where i'm considering breaking up with my bf because i feel like i don't want to be seen by anyone... ever again...
I am in week 4 of the Regimen. About 15 minutes after applying 2 pumps of the moisturizer, it starts rolling/peeling off with my dead skin flakes. What should I do? If I try to help it rub off, I get handfuls of flakes but then have to reapply the moisturizer. I'm getting my jojoba oil in the mail soon; should I try to exfoliate with it before I cleanse, hoping that there won't be any more flakes to peel off by the time I moisturize? Will I still need 2 full pumps of moisturizer? 2 pumps seems like way too much usually.
is it possible that jojoba oil breaks me out?? i pretty much went crazy with jojoba oil because of the dryness and because it's not supposed to break you out...
i stopped using BP in the morning. the dryness went away immediately, so i was able to stop using jojoba oil. eversince i changed my routine like that, i haven't had a new pimple. before i got about 2-3 new small ones every day. there's just this one bump next to my nose which has been sittin there for 3 weeks now. it's huge and read but it doesn't hurt or anything. this never happened to me... what's up with that? will it go away ever again?
other than that i'm almost happy
Hi...I been using the acne.org regimen for bout 6 weeks and recently stopped. I'm thinking bout giving it another try but reason I stopped cause my face was itchy, patchy, red and started get real white like discolored. Has anyone been having those effects...is it normal after 6 weeks on the regimen. I mean i could of dealt with it...but stopped cause it seem like it wasnt getting better. Now Im off it for 2 weeks. My skin it still itchy and i have red dry patchy spots on my face. My acne isnt bad...i have problems with blackheads but now Im off it Im starting to get breakouts. Should i try it again and do snything different??
Hi, i'm new to the regime- just started this week- and i have a suggestion for the dryness and flakes.
I'm from the UK, and i've found in Sainsburys a bottle of 'Diluted witch hazel' for $1.50 (i don't have the stirling sign )
I've been using it throughout the day with a cotton pad, just light circles on my face and it's removing the flakes really well, and calming down the redness and dryness for a while
My skin is (thank god, finally!) clear, but even though I've tried a number of things to get my dryness and flakiness under control, I have not found the magic potion so far. I did give the jojoba oil scrub a try and it worked a little, but not as effectively as it did for others. I also tried applying a generous amount of jojoba at night before doing the Regimen, using the AHA lotion, applying twice as much moisturizer as recommended, but still my skin is dry, flaky, and with the added element of winter, red and occasionally itchy or stinging. I feel that maybe my skin is too sensitive for this amount of daily BP, or maybe I am just taking longer to adjust than others do. I have been using the Regimen since the end of June, so I am looking for any recommendations or tips anyone can give. Thanks!
Regimen: DK Cleanser, DK BP 2.5%, DK Moisturizer with 1-3 drops Desert Essence Jojoba Oil, DK AHA lotion once a week, Garnier Anti-Puffiness Eye Roller daily
I have been using DK's BP (with Cetaphil Cleanser and Lotion + DK Jojoba Oil) for six months now. I still experience red, dry and flaky skin. However, for a month now, I've been using a homemade oatmeal cleanser instead (twice daily instead of my Cetaphil Cleanser), and it is really helping with the dry skin! I feel like this will help especially for the people who feel like their skin is tight and dry right after cleansing. Those with makeup might try a toner afterwards to make sure to remove all cosmetics. Anywho, just wanted to share, as I really like what it's done for my skin.
I haven't done this yet, but one of these days I plan to help along the exfoliation process of my skin by using a peel-off mask on my skin. I have the Freeman Superfruits revealing peel-off facial mask. its ingredients seem to be gentle enough to use on the regimen 1-2 times a week or so. it's basically a thick gel that you apply to the skin, let it dry for 10-15 minutes, then peel off.
Sooo my regimen package has not come yet but I am getting extremely scared because everyone is saying thier skin got significantly worse after using the regimen at first and i really dont think i can handle my face getting worse at this point. How do i cope with the harsh symptoms amd does that oil stuff really help the process????????
Trying this tomorrow morning! Winter is a killer
I've been using BP for about 2 months, and using The Regimen for about 2.5 weeks. My skin has always been on the dry side, and while my skin had adapted to the 5% BP I purchased at the drugstore, the 2.5% BP treatment from Acne.org has been more effective, but also way more drying (plus it is winter). I am definitely interested in trying this cleansing routine oil. I've found, however, that jojoba oil is not moisturizing enough when I add a bunch to my 2x daily moisturizing routine. I've been also using castor seed oil, and almond oil, day and night, which have helped so much with flakiness and dryness. I'd like to try this method with the castor seed oil + almond oil, and see how that works. The Regimen has worked very well for me so far, minus the dryness, but the oils help tremendously. Jojoba oil has almost seemed to dry my skin out more, and using the castor seed oil + almond oil hasn't seemed to cause any breakouts in any way.
