'B5 increases fat metabolism and hormone creation'
'Maybe it's raising androgens leading to hair loss you may want to try a low glycemic diet high in vegetables that will raise SHBG to bind up any loose testosterone you may have' Im also facin bloating which causes me to fart alot. Def has smth to do with SHBG
Im not sure about the hormone theory I got referred to an endocrinologist last year had thyroid Tsh1 and tsh2 tested was normal had my parathyroid tested and came back normal also had cortisol which was also normal.the adrenal glands release cortisol and he assured me that my adrenal glands were doing what they are supposed to.so Im not convinced its hormonal despite the theorys that I read online.
i also paid privately for a biotindase test and biotin deficiency test through medilabs and my levels were in range .but I decided to take biotin supplements anyway and they didnt make a difference
the cure if there is one one is s mystery no one has yet come back onto this forum and said my hair is 100% back to normal and heres how there is no solid evidence of anything truly working

Is the hormone thing linked to SHBG? Because i experience bloating which is like one of the symptoms of low shbg levels. Have u also tried l cystiene? nvm i saw that uve tried cystiene but i looked back on one of your posts and it mentioned from a guy that to stop b5 hairloss you will need b1,b2,b3, l cystiene andcarnitine. Have you tried implementing all 5 supplements? This might be the cure doh if u missed out carnitine. I think i might be havingTelogen Effluvium caused by b5 because i notice whitebulbs at the end of my hair sometimes and also shedding of pubic hair and eyebrow not much doh. I think my hair loss has been slowing down i hope i experience regrowth soon asTelogen Effluvium tend to last for 6 months and stuff.
quote, "I took vitamin B5 for 1 year in mega dose 1000mg per day. It cleared my skin but my hair started falling out and at the time I didnt connect the dots and now it makes sense. It took a year after I had stopped taking it to stop falling. i started taking hairfinity which has MSM in it which is specifically for hairloss. I also started using Nioxin shampoo and conditioner. My hair grew back twice as thick within a year. It was a horrible thing to go..."
My hair shedding has reduced significantly, i lose arnd 7 strands or 5 after a shower previously it was around 20-30+. Im wondering now if i can take a supplement which has b5 20mg again to thicken my hair out since it also has biotin in small amounts and the other b group vitamins or should i just continue with a no supplement route? My hair has gotten thinner also.

Im gonna do some more research on shbg And msm. Good theories by the way.I have also tried cysteine and carnitine with no luck.
My doctor checked my thyroid levels and b vitamins levels and they are all are good. Still waiting to do more hormone testing.
i just keep coming back to hormone levels and DHT because Im thinking what would cause the hairloss and so drastically. Someone should take a hormone depressant or DHT depressant lol and see what happens. Just kidding that could be dangerous and unhealthy.Butfor real though.
if it was avitamin deficiency I think somehow someonewould have figuredit out by now. Personally I have had a ton of vitamin and nutrient tests done and those all have came back just fine.i do want to add one thing that has helped me and my hair is a really low dose of cod liver oil everyday. Probably 1/4 to 1/2 of the daily recommendation.
By the way if anyone is good at writing and wantedto start a blog or spread this information and get itmain stream somehow, this info could probably help a lot of others out there or potentially havesomeone smarter than us find a cure haha or make more people chime in. Lets solve this. Been going on too long.#lookingforacure#lookingforaMADscientist. Lol
we could try, but doesPygeum & Saw Palmetto work? i heard it stops hair loss and stuff i think it blocks dht u could try that. I cant believe that i lost my thickness and shine of my hair because of a youtube video claiming that it could stop acne and i immediately jumped the gun. What a horrible experience that im going through now fuck. I think the calcium which was also in the vitamin b5 played a part in the hair loss. I think the NOW food brand dosen't show calcium to be 100% pure which might have played a part in the hair loss, try researching more on it
18 hours ago, Spyder2011 said:Saw palmetto can have adverse effects especially for men. Causes excess estrogen possibly I think.I dont think its just NOW brand either. If you look at reviews on amazon there are multiple people commenting on multiple different brands having the same issues we are. I think b5 works for most people but for some it has the opposite effects for some reason.
The calcium prob did something. Also, did ur friends who are doctors say anything about this issue. My hair crown area seems to be thickening back up again slowly but im still shedding hair much lesser now doh
To everyone taking random supplements to address hair loss, I'd definitely combthrough this thread before dropping $ on anything. I'm pretty sure 99% of common supplements have already been tested. In the ~7 years I've been lurking here nobody has found anything efficacious.
Also you run the risk of further f'ing yourself byingesting more random compounds haphazardly.

im currently taking the natural route and just exercising and eating tons of leafy greens daily. Today when i was shampooing my hair i only lost 1 strand of hair while compared to a month ago per swipe i was losing up to 4-6 strands which was alot. I will see where this natural route goes and update the thread with the progress. Also, i only took this vitamin b5 for abut 6 days while dropping the doses daily from 2g, 500mg to 20mg over a period of around a month, Then i cutted off all supplements except omega 3 and heres where i am now.

That seems like alot of vitamin D doconsult ur doctor before overdosing on supplements learnt that the hard way with this fucking b5 miracle pill bullshit
I was vitamin d deficient when my gp tested my levels.
gave me a higher dose supplement tested again in three months and I was over the top high gave me dry lips and itching skin.so had to stop immediately.
i wouldnt worry about low vitamin d this time of year most peoples levels drop and creep back up again in summer .
im still taking l cysteine will stick with it for another 2 months and update.
A guy from hackstasis forum claims l cysteine reversed his b5 hair loss but well see
i was wondering if eggs could've accelerated my hair loss again. Yesterday i decided to try eating the yolks of the eggs only as the whites had this ingredients which would counteract biotin and deem it useless. I ate 2 yst and when i showered the next morning i had about 12 strands of hair falling out when i was shampooing while previously i only had 2-3. I was wondering if its time for me to just cut out eggs completely again.

"It was mentioned on the healthboardsthat someone stopped their b5 hairloss with l-methionine. L-methionine can be turned into L-cysteine, but not the other way around. Perhaps the l-methionine/l-cysteine were all burned up too."
Could this be the breakthrough?

i hope there will be a cure soon or it will just be leading a healthy lifestyle and exercise and tons of leafy greens plus avoiding all sugar drinks and carbs. My hair loss has been slowing down and i don't seem to shed alot but im not seeing any regrowth i think or it might just be me. The hair follicles on my leg are starting to regrow back when i ate eggs only with the yolks and not the whites since it contains biotin and they have been growing back, not sure bout my hair doh i think im constantly stressed becuase the only thing i have in mind is my hair which may lead to none of my hair growing back.

EDIT: i conditioned my hair when i was showering and my hair fall seems to be 3-4 per swipe still or smth around there but when i shampoo its way little. fuck guess nth really changed AHHHHHH

How long did u take b5 last time for and the dosage
Also i start to notice that i have a bump like a pimple on my scalp could this befolliculitis decalvance? But the thing is i don't experience any scratching doh.
4 hours ago, Blue09 said:Took it on and off for about 8 months can't remember the dosage I think around 4 or 5grams.
dang, did ur shedding ever stop and did u see any regrowth? Idk about me sstarting to get the NW1 shape from my fronts but my crown seems to be thickening back up but my temples are receding abit. I ate a supplement previously which consist of b5 100mg and other b vitamins and minerals for like 2 months or so idk but my hair prior to b5 intake and taking that supplement made my hair super thick and i always dread washing my hair in the shower because of how thick it was and it would take awhile for me to wash it. i also took b5 2g to 500mg for 6 days than resuming on a supplement which consist of 20mg b5 and lots of minerals and i think b complex in it. Not sure if it helped but i cutted it out but it seems that when i cut out b5 completely i experineced bloating and gassing which has now been reduced prolly due to probiotics and vitamin c. I looked back at the post from itsoveryesiknowiknow and maybe the cure is to actually get back to the vitamin? Still remembered read a similar theory elsewhere that maybe our body actually starts to experience these symptoms when we dropped b5 completely.
