Apologies for lack of depth on this post as I am posting from my phone. Im a 19 male and have had VERY oily skin and persistant acne since I was 12. Acne all over my face and chest and back. All kinds of acne.. white heads, black heads, cysts that would take months to go away. Ive tryed everything otc and all kinds of supps. Ive been to the dermatologists multiple times and have tryed all kinds of antibiotics and topicals. Alright on to the thing I found to work for me...

Saw Palmetto.

I started taking 6 pills a month ago, 3 in the morning and 3 at night. They were the 160mg standardized extract pills. So I was taking about 960mg a day. Within a few days my sebum production reduced dramatically and my acne started to slowly stop coming although I still had a bunch of scars. After I finshed my first bottle I decided to reduce the dosage to 4 pills a day, 2 in the am and 2 in the pm. Same pills. I started to get new pimples. My skin started to get oily again but not nearly as bad as when I wasnt taking any at all. I conected the dots and upped the dose to 8 pills a day. This was a week ago. I havent got a single new pimple all week and my skin isnt oily.. AT ALL. this is seriously the happiest feeling ever not worrying about my skin or how greasy I look or having to sneak off and blot my face.

I decided to write this because it seems like there is a lack of information on dosage of saw palmetto and stuff and general and I hope I can help atleast one person feel as happy as I do now. If you have any questions feel free to ask! :-)

Great! Thank you for this post! I just signed up to tell you that I'm def gonna try Saw Palmetto and tell you about my results ;) Are you a girl? I suspect my acne is hormonal too, but my derm is always saying that if my periods are regular it's not hormonal acne...but it's on my chain/jawline and clearly hormonal type so I'll try this! :)
