I took B5 periodically throughout my ongoing battle with acne. Granted, it works to control your acne (to a certain extent) but I found myself constantly hungry all the time, which become unbearable. This insatible hunger left me with no choice but to quit, I don't recall experiencing any hairloss, but my hair is quite thick.

Since my shedding isn't that bad (yet) would it be necessary to stop my B5? I noticed I started shedding so I cut my B5 down to 2g (from 5g) and within a few days I started getting some awful awful zits so as of last night I started taking my B5 again in full dosage. Does this mean that I need to take 10g of l-Cystine? Seems a tad overboard for my situation but if it's needed it's needed and ill do it.

Guys if your acne is bad go onto the needtobuildmuscle website and buy a product called n2clear it's what all the steroid users use to stop them getting acne, I'm using it now and it very good.

To any young guy experiencing hair loss, i'm telling you. Stop masturbating so much. Once a week, tops. Once every 2 weeks is even better.

I've done so many studies on myself. I know for a fact, there is a link. Most guys these days, because of porn and everything else, masturbate constantly and it's just not good. I know some dudes who do it 5-6 times a day and they have crazy receding hairlines. Too much masturbation = loss of testosterone = increase of DHT, or something like that. Regardless, if you masturbate a lot, stop. Within a week of not masturbating, you'll see a noticeable difference in your hair thickness, density and overall hair health.

Also- pot smoking. If you smoke the ganj, stop and you'll see your hair change and any thinning areas become filled.

If you are loosing hair, smoke the green and masturbate multiple times a day, definitely look into those 2 things being a cause for your hair loss.

Also, use an all organic shampoo/conditioner. One free of as many chemicals as possible and full of as many natural ingredients as possible (essential oils, extracts, etc).

Last but not least, avoid artificial sweeteners at ALL COSTS. One of the main side effect- is hair loss. Artificial sweeteners are in everything- from gum to yogurt to of course, diet soda. Find natural alternatives to everything that's free of chemicals.

FDA purposely approves of ingredients knowing they will cause hair loss. That way you have to go to the Drs and get medications like propecia rogaine, etc., which of course bring on more illness & the need for more medications with more side effects which means money money money out of your pocket and in theirs.

Funny, but insanely true. Over masturbation is the reason why so many young dudes are walking around with receeding hairlines, crown thinning and loss of facial hair these days. Probably because of constantly jacking it to porn...not even giving the body enough time to recover. It messes you up, fact. Shouldn't constantly be done multiple times a day, everyday. Back in the day everyone had full thick heads of hair when porn wasn't so accessible. These days, everyone is bald / receding / thinning and it's because of lack of real nutrition available, over-saturation of chemicals in all products thanks to the FDA and of course, over masturbation.

if you don't have the will power to try the experiment on yourself, simply google "masturbating hair loss" and read all the testimonials from people who did.

The whole masturbation thing has nothing to do with this topic. This isn't regular balding, this is B5 megadose induced where we're losing hair all over our head, not the typical male pattern loss. I never had any hair issues until I did the megadose and no one in my immediate family has any hair loss issues. My dad is in his 60s and has a full head of hair.

My hope is that whatever we did to our bodies is reversible and until someone gets their adrenals (saliva test for cortisol especially) and hormones tested, we're gonna all be doing more guess work (and potential harm) by adding all this stuff like carnitine, more b5, methionine, atomidine, etc to our bodies. And guess work is what got us in this mess in the first place.

I would get tested myself but I'm away from my family doctor and June is the earliest I can do the bloodwork. If you have the opportunity to get tested, I STRONGLY urge you to do so without adding stuff blindly to your body.

Remember: 1. Saliva Cortisol test. Saliva gives the most accurate reading so specify this to your doctor!

2. Testosterone, DHT, Estrogen, DHEA test (sex hormones basically)

3. Thyroid

PJJordan do you have any update whether Carnitine worked for you? If not, I wouldn't want you to waste anymore money on pills that do you no good.

Good luck everyone and let's not let this thread die, we're helping a lot of people out with this if we can figure it out.

Woah I'm getting kind of scared now.....I'm 15 so obviously hairloss at this age is the opposite of what happens so its not "my time". I started taking l-Cystosine and it does seem to have slowed down and is heading for a stop, but this talking is scaring me nonetheless

Well you should be...B5 megadosing is not something to mess with.

@phillyeagles91 I am expecting blood test results back in a few days...unfortunately it is more of a standard test. I don't think it is testing DHT etc...will post if a deficiency is found though.

You are right though, we can't keep with this guesswork. I haven't been taking any pills for weeks now. I will not mess with my body any more. One thing I have noticed since I stopped B5 is how smooth and soft my hair has become...it was straw like with B5 so no wonder it was falling out.

Yeah this is the correct attitude to be having, hopefully they find something with the tests. The thing is I'm currently talking to someone who's researched this hair loss and B5 connection for 8 years and actually had a website about it back in '06. He gave me all the info about getting Cortisol, Testosterone, etc. tested and I'm relaying it back to you. He noted that Cysteine didn't do anything for him, yet I was hopeful 4 months ago when I tried it, and unfortunately he was right. I'm away from home at college so I won't be able to check with my doctor till I'm done in a few weeks.

Hopefully they find the cause in your bloodwork. If they don't and you have a chance, ask your doctor to specifically test the things in my post above. Chances are we're very close to finding something, we just need the tests done. Also make sure you ask for a copy of the results, and don't just let the doctor pass it off as nothing. Good luck!

I'm starting to get quite nervous...I thought it was slowing down but after I took my shower today I lost like 20 hairs. Is there a way to wean your body off B5 so it doesn't break out like crazy?

Update- I was getting a few gray hairs which indicates something is wrong in my mind so I dropped al lthe way down to 3g. Adding retin A back in to combat invitable oil increase. Seems anything over a few grams is no good for you. I believe you can order saliva tests online, I found this.

If B5 was working for your skin then you will break out any way when off it. It's probably best to reduce your dosage over a couple of weeks though.

Trust me you don't want to sacrifice your hair for your skin, especially at your age.

Another update- I looked at my scalp, and it does seem a little thinner. Probably a mistake to go back to 8g, to high for my body. Dropping back down and going to add back methioine as I did originally, and was also mentioned by Oizo on healthboards.

This was also mentioned earlier in the thread, but I missed it.

bimatoprost in gel form regrows hair!

If you're balding and want your hair to grow back, then here is some good news. A new research report appearing online in The FASEB Journal (www.fasebj.org) shows how the FDA-approved glaucoma drug, bimatoprost, causes human hair to regrow. It's been commercially available as a way to lengthen eyelashes, but these data are the first to show that it can actually grow human hair from the scalp.

I just put three or four drops on each side of my temple once a day, said Mr. Paduda, 32, an insurance worker from Boca Raton, Fla. The hair in that area, which was real thin and wispy all those hairs got thick again, dark.

Actually propecia cured multiple people of b5 hairloss. They took it usually for 3 months and then stopped. Also I haven't had an orgasm in almost a year even though I have sex. it helped my acne, but didn't cure it.

No known side effects except possible stomach cramps. The b5 study was done around 2000 so no one knows sides effects past a decade. I think hair>acne unless you are already almost bald. B5 is a cure acne cure for bald men.

That way you have to go to the Drs and get medications like propecia rogaine, etc., which of course bring on more illness & the need for more medications with more side effects which means money money money out of your pocket and in theirs.

Actually propecia cured multiple people of b5 hairloss. They took it usually for 3 months and then stopped. Also I haven't had an orgasm in almost a year even though I have sex. it helped my acne, but didn't cure it.

You haven't had an orgasm in a year because of propecia or because you're trying to stop acne?

Neither. Before orgasm I am full of energy, throwing my wife on the bed etc. after orgasm all I want to do is sleep. So I decided to stop and keep the energy. In addition it allows us not to use artificial birth control.

"I remember talking to someone on this board several months back who was experiencing hairloss due to B5. Supposedly, his hair was restored by taking Propecia. Someone else on this board has made the claim that Avodart stopped the hairloss. "

YouTube propecia hair, you will see a video of a guy regrowth his hair.

They also discuss nitric oxide on the above thread. Here is a phase 2 NO product, results due in August. Maybe taking NO supplements for working out might also help with hair.

Here is another quote from the absolute acne thread.

"Ah yes, and I've been taking 3g of arginine for 6 weeks for hair thinning and general hair health and it's definitely made a difference. My hair is now thicker and healthier like it was before B5. As I said last time, people with hair thinning problems should consider taking arginine. It seems to be working great for me but I'm not sure how it will work for others as I only had mild hair thinning..."

Arginine has to do with NO.

Has anyone tried taking simple B complex and biotin? This is obviously an imbalance we've created and we know what it imbalances, so, perhaps we should rebalance these things out by taking a B-Complex?
