Hey Brendan. Things are looking good. I have had strep throat since Christmas, so Ive been a little out of it. My shedding is still in remission, I only lose the normal amount of hair I did before starting on the b5. I still do pull-tests once a day, but sometimes I forget. I usually dont get any hairs or sometimes Ill get 1-3 hairs. Im still using:
#1. Nizoral shampoo
#2. 2 cups of Spearmint tea a day.I actually tried stopping this one because I hate the taste. It isnt ashorribly bitteras peppermint, but still, its like drinking warm mouthwash. I add lemon and honey to soften up the flavor. I ran out of tea recently and missed 2 days andnoticed an immediate breakout along my chin andjaw, so Im full-blown back on it consistently again. The benefits just seem to be too great (decrease in shedding, decrease in acne, decrease in oil in general.)
#3. EssentialWoman three caps 2Xtimes a day. (I forgot over the holidays and only took 1 essential Woman for a few days and nothing changed, still no hairloss.). This is the real superstar here, I couldnot be telling any kind ofsuccess story without it.
I have not noticed any re-growth yet, it is still too soon to tell if all that I lost is coming back because i still have so much hair and also its very long.
The best way for me to tell is to look at my roots. Since I color my hair about every 8 weeks or so, I can usually see the roots showing through as a different color. Right now I have about 1/4 inch of roots coming through, so definitely growth is occurring, I just cant speak for it being new growth from what was lost. Honestly itll be years before I can speak on that front.
I am so glad I started the Essential Womanbefore thisgot out of hand. Ihave several female friends and acquaintances with thinning hair, some have been that way their entire lives. Somewho are younger than me even have bald spots-(theirs having nothing to do with b5.)
Inever was able to understand how tough it must be for them until now, so I definitely have gained a sense of empathy. This whole time, I have beenbusy thinking about myacne and some otherpoor soul out there doesnt even notice or relate to it becausethey are worried abouttheir thinning hair. Thentry adding both issues to the mix! I think it must be this way with everyone, about every little issue. Theirs isthe worst case, they suffer the most. Ultimately, though, it is just a meatsuit we are trying to maintain. In the end, it only matters how kind you were and what you did to help someone else.
I definitely value my hair now and will think twice before megadosing on anything ever again.
Hey guys, long time since I've made a comment here, sorry. Not much improvement in my hair loss. Still thinning out all over my scalp and no cure found for me. I just started using a dermaroller and added in hair regenerix supplements. I also started TruePure biotin serum which has helped with inflammation but not the shedding. The TruePure is very expensive and I don't think I can keep up with it in the long run.
I actually posted about the Essential Woman a while back. Another woman cured her b5 hair shedding with this supplement and a DIM supplement. I tried DIM but it did not help. I just ordered essential woman and it seems to have promising results so fingers crossed! It's not limited to just women.... evening primrose is taken mostly by women so it kind of has that reputation. Anyway, I am reading other reviews for evening primrose and it has been beneficial for those with hair loss. It will probably take some time before you see results so don't quit right away!
Review from Amazon:
December 31, 2017

I tried DIM once for acne about 5yrs ago and it gave me a severe chest pounding panic attack/dread feeling like Ive never had before. It also made all smells intolerable to me, like I wanted to puke if I smelled any perfume or air freshener or even food cooking. I mean maybe it was just the wrong dose of DIM or maybe it wasnt even the DIM-I was working as a nurse in a mental hospital so that couldve been part of it,lol. So yeah, I couldnt stay on it for more than a couple days.
Just to clarify, Im doing exactly what Cherub said she did to cure hers in her amazon review-I posted a screenshot of the review earlier in this feed. Essential Woman, 3 capsules twice a day. Thats 6 total capsules each day. It seems like a lot and you will go through your bottle very fast that way.
I agree with pjjordan, just stick with Essential Woman and give it time to work. I am noticing today that the few hairs I amshedding (normally now)have bigger bulbs on the end, they arent as miniaturized anymore. That to me is a wonderfully healthy sign/surprise. My hair seems to be growing pretty fast right now also, I have about an inch of roots showing that I need to color soon. The essential woman also seems to have changed the texture of my skin, like I notice its more supple and my scalp isnt itchy/irritated anymore. Its makingmy lips feel softer too, almost like its acting as a naturalchapstick.
For a few days Itried just doing plain evening primrose oil only instead of Essential Woman and I also tried exchanging some of the Essential Woman caps for plain Evening primrose capsjust to make the bottle last longer, but it doesnt work and my hair started shedding the moment I went without it. Maybe I wasnt taking a high enough dose of epo, I dont know, I just know Imnot messing around with that little exchange anymore.
Bottom line: Its the Essential Woman that stops the hairloss for me,so Im just stickingwith what the 2 other women did to cure themselves. Essential Woman. Please disregard my earlier suggestion to just exchange Essential Woman forevening primrose oil. That just didnot seem towork!
Also, make sure you drink extra fluids,I am noticing this supplement causes me to be superthirsty in the morningsand also some constipation. Drink whatever you can andas much as you can to keep things moving, hehe. There will also bea mild headache initially but it should go away after a few days. PlainAspirin helped with mine.

Hi everyone.
Katie, this very interesting here. We all had telogene effluvium with very oily scalp. The problem is our body never recovered form the imbalance from triglyceride imbalance. I remember very well, that 3 days before telogene kick in. I was noticing that my hair at the end was very very dry and couldn't style it the way i always did it. I never thoughts about Omega 3 6 9 can solve this nithmare problem.
I have a question for you here. Since i. am washing my hair every day otherwise it's becoming so oily. I want to know if the essential women supplement did help you with the oil production in scalp sebum and the inflamation caused by the massive hairs going to telogene period.
I dont understange why taking EPO in youre case and Borage Oil 25% GLA with Fish Oil in my case dont have the impact on the problem. However the essential women does. Until know i didn't tried the supplement, but i am willing soon.
in my case i only shed tin hairs taht were hit by the 3 months telogene effluvoum laps. And the scalp is very oily. I have this problem since june 2016 1year and 6 months. I am not losing any terminal hair. But no terminal regrowth and still hairs oily. I just the prefere that oilyness can stop one day. I am very depressed about.
thanks for reaading me. I think we are close to resolve this problem. So guys keep up the good momentum.
happy new year to everyone.
I'm a week in on the essential woman supplements.
so far nothing to report I've not noticed a benefit just yet but also I don't have anything negative to report .
i will hopefully be able to give you an unbiased review in another week or so when I've been on it longer.
ohh one thing to add my lips army as dry as they normally are but this could be unrelated
thanks

Hi there. To answer your question-I havent noticed a difference in scalp oil. I still have to wash my hair every day, but I think once a day is pretty normal. I use Nizoral and leave it on for a few minutes, it works better to control the oil than other stuff. I have noticed that I have zero scalp irritation and no more itchy bumps like I was having before Essential Woman.
My hair loss is still in remission with the Essential Woman 6 pills a day. By remission I mean whenever i do pull tests now,I either dont get any hairsor sometimes I get between 1-3. I do not get any more profuse shedding.
I have noticed a difference in my skin and lips, everything is more moisturized and I guess supple is the word, not oily exactly, but almost like waxy? The supplement definitely helps changethe surface texture. It makes me super thirsty though-so i have to drink extra water. The initial headaches it was giving me have finally gone away-apparently my body hasadjusted now.
I believe youare right about the triglyceridebalance being off with the b5 megadosers. The Essential Woman has a combo of omega 3,6,9, and GLA. I would bet this specificcombonormalizes the cholesterols and in turn nourishes the scalp.
Imgoing to update in a few weeks with another pic of my scalp like I postedawhile back. I hope it will look better this time!
Spyder - that's cool to hear gluten free might help. I've actually been mostly gluten free for years since I do the paleo/keto style diet. This helps with my skin, never really thought about it helping my hair.
Katiebear - it's good to see you're getting results but I think you're thinking in too short time frames. I think it's highly unlikely you can say whether things are working/not working in just a few days.

I found out by reading another b5 suffers post in a comments section that she believed she had developed an auto immune disease caused by excess b5. She also had all the symptoms from taking excess b vitamins including very dry skin and loosing hair and said she went to her doctor and they diagnosed her with an autoimmune disease called celiac disease. So after doing some research on the disease I decided to go gluten free. I have been on a gluten free diet and have not been eating any bread for about 3 weeks now and am feeling a whole lot better. I broke out a little after about 4 days of no gluten but it quickly cleared up and I have read that is normal. My skin isnt near as dry and the red dry spots on my scalp are almost gone. My skin also feels a lot more hydrated. I still dont drink caffeine at the moment or any sugar because it was contributing to my dry scalp and skin. Now after 3 weeks of having no bread and gluten free I feel like I really have this b5 problem under control for the first time in long time to the point where I almost cant believe it. Milk also bothers me so I dont drink it for now either. Not saying that going gluten free will work for you but it has honestly been a miracle so far for me I feel a whole lot better. Will update in another Month. Good luck and has anyone else tried this?
i read that same post about celiac a few years ago although i never tried going glutan free. May give it a go. If you go to the doctors they can test you for autoimmune diseases. Pretty sure mine came back normal but still worth a go i guess.
Youre right travelleruck, too soon for me to make definitive statements. Plus, Ive had false positive results before with the Spearmint and sunlight and Nizoral, (the shedding always returned.) The bright side being Ihavebeen transparent on here in admitting when something hasnt worked or just suddenly stopped working for me.
It is promisingthat three females Ive located so far online have stopped their shedding with this specific supplement. None of them spoke about regrowth and I have no way of contacting any of them to find out more details about their situation. Ive read through every remark on every page of this feed as well as reviews on amazon and username searches of the people that claimed to havecured themselves.
The most promising to me based on the data Ive gathered are these women. They seem to have just stopped their shedding with thisand then fell off the map with no further updates. Im taking that as a good sign.
So, for me to have no abnormal shedding for just over threeweeks (not days) almost immediately after beginning onthesame supplement as them is a very promising sign. That said, I dont want to come off as aspokesperson for Essential Woman or tryforce a cure that isnt real, butthree weeks+ with no sheddingis a noteworthy sign worth mentioning. Also, I am 100% willing to post pic updates of my scalp to verify my results and let others monitor them.

I am glad gluten is working for you. Is there any way you can post pics of your scalp and hair so we can monitor your results? You dont have to include pics of your face. I noticed you didnt mention anything about remission of shedding or regrowing hair. Does this mean you went gluten free because of the dry skin and scalp irritation and not due to hairloss? Thanks and sorry for so many questions

me- 27 year old white female who took 6-7 G of b5 for just under two weeks before I experienced hair loss. I started mid september, stopped by the end of septemeber. I also took a b complex through out my megadosing.
I have spent hundreds of dollars on supplements and products trying to combat this issue. I didnt want to shower or touch my head, I have long (used to be thick) hair and It was coming out consantly. I would guess I lost about 100 strands in the bathroom (showering, towling my hair, running my fingers through wet hair) and thats in addition to everything that was coming out throughout the rest of the day.
my hair loss was diffuse, but was noticeable to me within about 3 weeks, especially around the sides and my crown. Due to the plethora of hair supplements I was noticing new growth, but still shedding like crazy..
I have tried-
stinging nettle
nioxin shampoo
coconut oil (internal/external)
vinegar
caffiene/coffee shampoo
cayenne on scalp
all sorts of home made tonics for the scalp
garlic pills
hair/skin/nails pills
biotin
b complex
DIM
silica
iodine
iron
I am sure there is more.
the other day I read about EVENING PRIMROSE oil and while i was out I noticed a product called "essential woman" by barleans greens. the same day I read about MICONAZOLE NITRATE (anti fungal) being good for growth.
To this day I have taken the "essential woman" product 3 pills twice daily for about 3 days, and I have applied one..application of the mico product.
I dont know which of these is it... but today in the shower I LOST HARDLY ANYTHING. Im talking like.. normal loss.. maybe 15 hairs total. I showered while I conditioned I ran my fingers through my hair, after ward I combed my hair to be sure..
also, I know a lot of you think your loss may be contributed to MPB, female allopecia runs in my family... i was scared when I learned this... yet my shedding has reduced despite.
If you have tried almost everything, I really think the Essential product is helping.. I bought it because it has Evening primrose oil, but it also has things to help with hormones.. the compant makes a version for men. if you have not tried EPO, do. I have a feeling it is that, rather than the anti fungal that is working.
You can read reviews on amazon about both of these products. note= amazon has a new feature where you can search for keywords with a reviews.. very helpful.. just search "hair"
MIND YOU this is a new discovery... I am trying to not get my hopes up but I wanted you all to know. There are only a few supplements that I have been taking consistently, and i have just added EPO and this antifungal treatment very recently, but the results came quick
mens product..doesnt contain EPO though.. http://www.amazon.com/Barleans-Organic-Oils-Omega-Count/dp/B0009ET4MC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1415489945&sr=8-1&keywords=barleans+men
If you have questions about anything, ask
hey
Please can you update on this
32 days on Essential Woman and still no shedding. Moelaz-Good luck getting an update from lamp87, that person hasnt been active in years and will probably not see your request. I would like to hear updates from anyone else who is currently taking Essential Woman? Has your hair stopped falling like mine? Do you notice any regrowth yet? Thanks
I'm just over two weeks using the essential woman supplements I have nothing bad to report
and also no growth however my scalp is a lot less itchy hair is less oily and kind of has a nice shine to it which I've not had in along time.
please don't let my review so far put you off i had some test results come back this week and I have malabsorption my stomach isn't absorbing vitamins and fats as good as it should be so this malabsorption could mean my body isn't absorbing 100% of the essential woman that I'm currently taking.
hope this helps and will keep you posted good or bad
thanks
Thanks for the updates guys appreciate it. Brendan did the doctor say or give you anything to help you absorb more vitamins? Could you tell me what test it was or what they tested you for as i would like to get the same test done. Ive often thought that i dont absorb enough vitamins/fats.
i was getting worried because on some occasions when I went to the toilet I was noticing like a small amount of an oil substance floating on the water.
among other symptoms but I won't waffle on too much.
i had a endoscopy and my stomach had too much acid.
and also I did a stool sample which came back And contained un digested fats my body wasn't absorbing all the fats from the foods I was eating because my stomach was too acidic .
gp recommend pro biotic and also prescribed proton pump inhibitor for three months to get my stomach acid to normalise.when I have this situation under control hopefully the essential woman will work upto its full potential for me
