Will 400mg a day cause any problems? From what I've read online only 1g or higher a day has been associated with hair loss. I want to take x1 400mg B5 + x2 Acetyl L Carnitine 500mg for my acne/oily skin because nothing else has worked.
No one here can tell you, we are neither doctors, biologists nor chemists.
You can try B5 but I wouldn't recommend it. It didn't help my acne at all to be honest(but I only took it for 10 days or so)
Since I've been using Apple Cider Vinegar mixed with water and tea tree oil as a toner I have no acne whatsoever, maybe you could try that instead
wassup guys and girls. Been awhile since I was here. Just wanted to tell ya im doin the immortal hair regimen. The regimen and that forum is awesome for all general health stuff, but ofcourse its mostly about hair.
*mod edit - removed URL*
It's alot of supplements and can be expensive, but for me its no problem and I think its worth it. Since these supplements fix more than just the hair. For overall health.
About my situtation. To start with, like many of you im losing/lost hair all over my scalp. Worst area is neck, under ears and sideburns.
It's hard to tell but my hair is MUCH, and by that I mean much more softer and look better now atleast. Somedays I shed more than other, some days nothing etc.
I found out that my scalp itch gets much worse when im eating unhealthy food with alot of sugar etc. Fast food, soda drinks, candy - you name it, all things unhealthy.
Makes me wonder if its gut-related, like leaky gut or even bloodsugar problems.. Any of you also get more itch when consuming fastfood/all things sugar related unhealthy stuff?
Edit. Got a mod warning about "advertising" and he deleted the link to immortalhair regimen. I mean ya can buy all you need on big online companies like Iherb.
Well I guess its not hard to just google it if someone is interested. I think its pretty safe to say that his regimen IS the best natural one for hairloss. it also made me acne free.
I'm pretty certain now that reducing DHT is the key to stopping the hair loss and that taking B5 has (possibly)permanently altered the sebaceous glands sensitivity towards sex hormones. My theory would explain why some people do not experience B5 hair loss as well.
I'm still doing research but I'm pretty confident that this is the cause of the hair loss. I might create a medical questionnaire in the next few days and it would be great if all of you could fill it out.
Even if it is not related to DHT, I can say with almost 100% certainty that the hair loss is related to Acetyl-Coenzyme A.
It would be great if the other people that did extensive chemical and biological research could PM me
I've been reading through the posts but I didn't see any reference to it: does anyone know if taking natural brewer's yeast pills is equivalent to ingesting large quantities of Vit. B5?
I've been taking around 8-10 brewer's yeast pills/day and it's quite difficult to find online an indication of how much B5 is in them.....

It should say on the bottle? Or email the manufacturer
why hair falls on behind , and at the temples?
why hair falls on behind , and at the temples?
Temples and Crown are typical androgenetic alopecia spots.
If you mean the actual back of the head, like your neck, it could be due to diffuse AGA. Not all AGA follows the standard MPB pattern, everyone has different DHT-sensitive follicles
hey guys my hair loss has not been as drastic lately. Possible explanation is that i switched to a natural anti dandruff shampoo about a month ago- spa magiq shampoo from holland and barrett (or amazon). I'd say my hair loss is a moderate amount more than the average person, but i'll take that over shed loads any day. Colostrum gave me spots major waste of money for me.
I use Propecia 6 months and continue to lose hair ..
I lose hair all over the body .. why?
are you sure that this is MPB?
who cured the adrenal glands
I've said many many times on here that it's not mpb, feel bad that you had to endure 6months of propecia, that drug fucks peoples lives up. Hopefully you havnt done any more damage to your body.
Blue09 as you progress? how much hair you have left?
Very little. Around 30-40% receding is the worst.
Yeah, Im about the same. Doing a topical solution through a hair restoration clinic, but I don't have too high hopes on that. Will be 4 months before potential results a visible, but will let you guys know if there are any results.
What other side effects are people experiencing?
I'm tired all the time
This is a prominent side effect for me too, its more than likely adrenal related. I've noted that I am fully awake later at night (10 PM and later) when the adrenal's second wind kicks in, but tired all morning / afternoon. Caffeine seems to wake me up somewhat though

I am exactly the same, luckily I'm self employed so I can take advantage of it and have a good working session in the early hours.
I also often have brain fog, difficulty focusing and poor memory.
Hi all,
Its been a while since I posted anything on this forum. Frankly, Id been waiting to make sure that my improvements werent just a fluke and would actually last. So, Im happy to report, my hair loss and scalp inflammation have completely subsided (and havent come back after about a month). The bad news is I cant be sure that the symptoms will not return or how generalizable the approach I used is.
The following is what I used to alleviate the symptoms of itchy scalp and diffuse hair loss (listed in what I believe is the order of their contribution to the improvement):
1. Psoriatrax tar shampoo. Used every day for the first two weeks, then every other day (alternating with Jason Dandruff Relief shampoo and, occasionally, Nizoral),
2. Colostrum Plus (2 scoops twice a day),
3. Scalp serum with Lavender and Rosemary oil (been using it for a while). Apply about twice a week.
4. Holy basil extract, ashwagandha, valerian root (adaptogens) taken before bed.
It seems that the hair loss and scalp inflammation are manifestations of an immune response to vitamin B5 overdose. In any case, I hope this helps you guys.
Going to try this. I've ordered everything besides colostrum since its a form of milk and I wouldn't trust my skin with it. I'm already taking ashwagandha and valerian for my adrenals which seem to be helping, sleeping at night is still ridiculously hard.

Could you elaborate ? I would believe as much as well, except hairline is receding and we seem to have the MPB itch

Like ruman has just said I'm losing hair all over the head, back and sides aswell as the mpb areas but the mpb areas are the worst, I believe that's just because the hair will eventually fall in that pattern anyway if you no what I mean. I think it's caused some sort of autoimmune disease. Plus how can it be mpb when females are losing hair too? Propecia has done nothing for ruman and I've read many many others where it's done nothing. It's annoying because people are just saying it's dht related but the facts just don't add up. There must be a way to stop this. I read an old thread the other day and a woman took b5 and then got hairloss and she searched for a long time to find the cure in the end it turned out she had celiac disease. Whether or not the b5 caused it I don't know but she certainly didn't have it before. Another concern is the fact that there's a lot of calcium in the b5 so we were megadosing calcium too maybe that could cause problems too. After 5 years now I'm running out of ideas.
Been taking Finasteride for 2 weeks now, 0.5mg every other day.
My hair already looks fuller, the itching has gone away and my temples, which used to be red and irritated all the time, are now back to normal.
The adrenal theory makes sense but so far everybody who got blood tests done did not notice an anomaly, the same counts for me.
I'm not sure if fatigue/brain fog are valid symptoms. I've been experiencing these too. But I have also been very stressed out and depressed for the last 1 or 2 years. Depression can cause physical symptoms as well.
