Wow my hair loss has definitely started up again. I am only shedding at the hairline/temples. This has to be MPB. Do you guys have the same pattern?
My hair is thinning at the temples, the part line and the vertex. I believe someone here had the theory that it kick starts MPB. I have read that B5 messes with Testosterone levels and probably even increases them. How would it kick start MPB though? If it's MPB then I have no choice but to go on Finasteride.
I am currently a Norwood 2 on the scale and 18 but I highly doubt the hair loss will stop unless I take Finasteride.
If B5 really raises Free Testosterone and thus kick starts MPB it would explain how some people do not get hair loss while taking B5 and some do. Those wo do not possess the MPB gene will not shed hair.
What I do not understand though, if B5 is a water soluble vitamin, then how does the hair loss continue? Shouldn't the effect on testosterone stop once the B5 leaves your system?
EDIT:
I just noticed that the B Complex I take contains 18mg of B5. Should I stop taking it? There may be a correlation in shedding and me taking the B complex. Ill report back on that
DOUBLE EDIT:
Found this thread, some guys there postulated that they found a care, have a read: http://www.acnearchives.com/4226

Elessarx, Craigst writes that you are cured. Has your hairloss stopped? If so how did you manage to stop it?

Wrote an email to Artlan from that forum and just got a reply now. He never managed to reverse his hair loss, so thats not a plus for the 2g/day Lysine, 2g/dayVitamin C.
Hey guys, been a long time, i have promised ill cure u and i will. I advise u to do a folate test and b12 test asap...Pantothenic acid in large doses excessively depletes folate as it uses it to transform to coenzyme a...B12 is antagonistic to pantothenic acid in the liver and they deplete each other if taken excessively. Im sure you will find either of these 2 depleted and im willing to pay any1 the blood test if he finds its not the case...U can do this or u can choose to pay for useless creams or supplements, or turn urself into a woman using finasteride...Both b12 and folate are prime reasons for hair loss...I promised i will cure and i stick to my words, at the end of the day i cant help u more than urselves, u have to do something about it...
Elmecahnico u also need to take iron bisglycinate like i told u b4, i dont know what ur waiting for, start 150 mg a day,,,

I would also like to tell people that i took a hair product called pantogar for 5 years, it contains 60mg pantothenic acid a pill and i took 3 a day for years so i doubt any of u have accumulated pantothenic acid as much as me...When i stopped it i did alot of tests and i found b12 to be low....My hair loss reversed and i saw regrowth only to be hit by a metabolic dysfunction due to taking activated charcoal which absorbed all the vitamins in my body..

I have had tons of blood-tests taken, all within the normal range, but I will check to see if folate and b12 where tested, and if not get them done.
Btw, Artlan from that link I posted sent me this:
"I saw a dermatologist and had my usual check of hormones, nothing abnormal was detected.
I never tried Propecia (due to the potential side effects) and Minoxydil, because I wanted to find a solution that would offset the unbalance caused by B5 overdose as opposed to just using products to mask these effects.
At the same time as my hair loss, I started experiencing other issues as well, like erectile dysfunction.
All in all, B5 was a short term fix for my Acne but I am still feeling the ill effects over 10 years later. "
Has anybody else experienced ED?
Also tw12, I just ordered iron bisglycinate as you suggested.
I will also continue taking B12 and folic acid.
I will call my doctor to make an appointment for another blood check.
Im looking to get hormones(what should I ask for?) ,B12 and folate checked. Anything else?

Can you message me your paypal details? My lab results posted in this thread show my B12 at 643 with a range of 200-1100, so results are right smack in the middle. B1 wasn't the cure back in June, and B12 isn't the cure in August.
I know you're trying to help, but this isn't the way.
What was Artlan's T levels? B5 raises T levels, but I haven't heard of anyone with ED from B5 on this thread which is 2 years old
What about your red blood cell folate levels, ceruloplasmin? Did u test it? If not u should as panto depletes folate as well and this causes megabolastic anemia...U must be kidding me if u think b5 hair loss is due to high testosterone, this is the funniest thing ever as high testo actually means low dht due to low prolactin and a balance of testo and estrogen will not make the body convert the testo to DHT after increasing prolactin...Testosterone is not bad for the hair as u have been reading, its only bad if it gets converted to DHT and if the androgen receptor at the hair is highly active, meaning that if ur not suseptible to hair loss then it will do little harm, of course finasteride will help as it decreases dht evenmore and will boost estrogen making the androgen receptor not receive dht and will help hair regardless of wether ur susceptible or not...
The way i see it, this thread has been going on for years and the only person here to managed to stop his hair loss and extremely increase his hair thickness instantly was eleserax directly after he followed my advice, anyone who thinks it magically resolved itself out of the blue must have peanuts in his head...
I urge everyone to have a red blood cell folate, b12 and ceruloplasmin test like i said before....
What are you talking about? My Testosterone comment was in response to elmechanico about Artlan's ED. My current working theory is posted on page 1 and talks about lipid metabolism. If you read through the whole thread again you'll be a lot more knowledgeable, rather then just suggesting different minerals/vitamins.
The two studies you link to are both over 50 years old and deal with b12. Anemia is rare in men because they don't menstruate, even more so when you consider the amount of meat eaten in this country.
Regarding Eleserax, we will wait and see. I thought I cured my hair loss two years ago and was wrong. Also if you believe Eleserax cured his hair loss by following your b1 advice, why do you now advocate b12? Why not stick with B1?
Panto cannot permanently damage a mechanism...This is impossible...The damage u suffered is relatively local to ur hair, if u really had altered lipid metabolism you will see it all over ur body, not only ur hair...Im positive that panto causes hair loss due to it depleting or using up another crucial vitamin or mineral to the hair...Folate/b12 or copper expressed through ceruloplasmin, until u do these 3 tests u are now literally just repeating the myths u have been going through on this forum for years...I have not seen u once really help anyone tho im sure u want to, i on the other hand have helped elessearx resolve his hair loss...Stop this tone with me and see the money and time u have let people waste over the years, tell this to urself not me, atleast i have actually helped someone and will do to the rest...
red blood cell folate is the one to be tested not serum folic acid...

What myths have I been going on about through the years, considering I formulated the lipid hypothesis only a few weeks ago?
It's great you believe "Im positive that panto causes hair loss due to it depleting or using up another crucial vitamin or mineral to the hair.."
But you present NO PROOF. Even if you are correct, there are thousands of minerals/vitamins in the body, YOU DO NOT KNOW which vitamins/mineral is missing.
This is why I stated before we should all crowd source money to get an experiment done on rats and see which mineral/vitamins are affected. You forget it is possible by randomly megadosing on vitamins we can be doing damage to our bodies. No one knew b5 caused hair loss until a decade ago, who know what megadosing other vitamin/minerals can do.
All I ask is you stop making statements WITHOUT PROOF. Here is the first sentence you said
"Panto cannot permanently damage a mechanism"
Now elmechanico spoke to Artlan who said this "All in all, B5 was a short term fix for my Acne but I am still feeling the ill effects over 10 years later. "
Here is the thread FROM 2004. Artlan is the second poster.
10 YEARS SEEMS DAMN PERMANENT!
Thought I'd come back I missed you guys too much haha first off itsover and tw12 in the kindest possible way please shut the fuck up talking to each other like that come on guys if you 2 worked together and helped each other you could actually solve this bitch of a situation that were all in. I've been to 3 doctors now and there all bloody useless t***s the information i have got from you 2 has been 10times as much as all those doctors they literally have no clue, but you guys know a hell of a lot. Come on lads without you 2 we got nothing.
That is because he hasnt fixed his dyfunction, it will resolve when fixes it...I told u i took pantogar for 5 years, i have accumulated atleast 10 times as much as all of u and i reached a point where i had regrowth after i stopped it and resolved my tests...It is not impossible and its not permanent, but it wont resolve on its own...I have given proof that folate is used up to turn the pantothenic acid into coenzyme a month ago u can check it...This is ur 3rd or 4th new theory and i dont know how many products u have advocated here, both natural and synthetic like finasteride...I have advocated nothing but natural and have tested them on myself before i tell anyone to take it like the b1...U can also see my advice was fruitful and elesarax resolved his hair loss but u CHOOSE to ignore it...im not ur enemy so stop talking to me like one and jumping on any advice i give and bash it...I bring u the key points u need to test from research, u can help urself and test them or u can keep on bashing me and nothing will change...

*Last post to you, not going to fight anymore
Please reflect upon your logic, I am trying to help you.
10g=10000mg
10000/180=55.5 larger dose then you were taking per day. So it took you 55.5 days to equal what we took in 1 day, almost two months.
Here is a different example.
Some people take 81mg of aspirin per day to prevent heart attacks. However if they took 4995.5mg of aspirin at one time, the equivalent of 55.5 days of aspirin, they would get very sick. It is not the same at all.
As to you thinking you took more B5 then us, let's do the math. You took 60x3=180mg/day for 5 years. So
180x365x5=328500mg/1000=328.5grams
Someone taking 10g/day, in 33day x 10g=330grams. What you took in 5 years, we took in about a month. It's not the same at all.
Whats up Blue, how's the hair?
over 99% of this dose gets excreted unchanged...In addition pantothenic is absorbed by an active transport system that is saturable so u will only absorb a certain quantity of this, so over the years my body has taken much more than u as it was more constant and have dealt with it when i perfected my blood panel...Hair loss has started for people at different doses with different time periods, some took it for 3 weeks only at 300mg and saw hair loss, while other at larger and longer while others have never seen it...Why? Because the vitamin or mineral reserves differ and again iv told u the key points to get tested, u are free to do whatever u want...But note u are not trying to help me as i dont need help as im not suffering hair loss from panto, im here just to help u as i feel sorry for the hair loss u have been through...

Like I said, I'm not going to fight anymore. I do the math, and you say this:
"over 99% of this dose gets excreted unchanged"
Where did you get this number from, YOU MADE IT UP!
U leave the keypoints and choose to concentrate on small things. u left how i solved eleseraax hair loss when u have costed people alot of money and time to buy ur suggestions and u left how i proved that hair loss from panto starts from different doses and different time periods so this change in time so is defintely related to the degree of pre-status of vitamin/mineral getting depleted from pantothenic...u left out how panto is absorbed through a saturable transport system and only a very small percent of what u are actually taking is absorbed, the rest is passed through ur gut....u also left out how i pointed out that im the one helping here while i dont need the help unlike u...I can see right through u and what ur trying to do so dont address me again...
Im having extreme difficulty finding out why u address me with this tone every since i came here 2 months ago to help...It seems to me that u are very hostile to anyone offering worthy info and u are monopolizing the "cure" here for years and u have done nothing but waste people time, money and manhood for advocating finasteride...I have spent here 2 months and have actually managed to help someone and this is more than enough for me to know that a person can now wake up every morning not worrying about hair loss and actually put a smile on his face...I want to do this to the rest and will do so if u actually stop bashing every advice i give since the start...Im offering what might be very possible scenarios as to why this happened rather than advocating finasteride and synthetic shit that will put u in more misery when u get fucked up, psychologically, physically and mentally by it, u can check the net on how it destroyed peoples lives...I am sharing information i have acquired through years which u wont hear at the doctor and i dont expect anything in return except u addressing me in a more polite way...It seems u are fed up with urself of not finding a cure and u are reflecting this on any other person trying to help showing him a very hostile treatment...Again, i advice everyone to do the tests i said, it will sum up alot...
