10 days...

Seems like it's been longer than that xD

No makeup today, just letting everything settle. It's amazing how much less inflamed everything is since the beginning. My face is no longer all red! Cool beans...

I've been touching my face a lot. Bad, I know.

:naughty:

Will stop.

Anyway, no new progress, just the same old fading marks, etc.

:D

That's all for now.

Toodles!

thanks ratsoff.. ill leave the dead skin on until as long as i can, but today i put some aloe vera on (fresh from the plant) and it helped alot. not sure when im going to introduce water, and not sure if i should continue to use aloe vera when it gets dry. im also going to supplement with fish oil since it helps with the dry skin/inflammation.

Is it normal to have blotchy, red skin while doing this regimen. I have been doing it for about 4 weeks probably, (the first three weeks I washed my face with cold water twice a day, the last week I have stopped washing my face completely.) My skin is really blotchy around my cheekbones and around the nose. My skin is the clearest it has been in a very long time though and my face isn't quite as oily anymore. The skin just looks very uneven around my cheeks and a darker red in some spots. I also had been taking the supplements below while washing my face with water, but I felt like I might've had a reaction to one of these things, most likely the fish oil pills.

im on day 34, it was going amazing for the first 2 weeks and then i was trying to figure out how im screwing up. The past seven days i have NOT touched my face with ANY water at all, ive been using my electric again, and today, no active pimples for the first time in ages. So anyone having a tough time, no water, PLEASE.

Interesting it seems many have found success in utilizing this simple regimen.

I too have this dead skin thing on my nose and this regimen might be the cure for it.

Day 19

-didnt wash face for 15 days, not even water

-face started getting blotchy and dry, so i decided to put on aloe vera gel straight from the plant

Day 20

-took a shower and washed my face with water only

-saw alot of dead skin all over my face except forehead and chin. decided to leave it on longer

-decided to just ditch the aloe vera and wash face with water when dead skin gets messy, which may be once a week

-going to scrape off dead skin in maybe 10-20 more days or when it gets really thick

-so far very pleased with this regimen. the skin underneath the dead skin mask is healing. the parts where i have the dead skin was where my face was most damaged and irritated/red. i never had problems with forehead and chin so therefore i have no dead skin over it.

edit:

im on day 21 and my skin is getting messy because of the dead skin mask. yesterday i washed my face with water in the shower for the first time since march 22, 09. after i came out of the shower, i saw my face covered in dead skin. i think im going to have to scrape it off this week, possibly today.

should of just left it and dealt with it, now you gotta start the whole cycle over again (especially if you scrape it off so soon).

yeah, scrape it off. yes, it will come back but less and less as days goes by. I scraped mine once a week until I don't see any dead skin build up anymore.

Well, not really. It has to come off somehow, so you should scrape it. You'll still get some flakes, but now as badly after that.

well i took a shower and scraped it off using my fingers (i kind of had to rub it off because the dead skin was like stuck to my skin). the skin underneath was red and soft. so i put aloe vera on it and now back to not washing it until the mask builds up again. the redness went away after a couple hours

Do you guys not shower? If washing with water isn't allowed, how does bathing fit in to all of this?

We still do. Only body wash though. And hair wash by bending over. You'll find ways if your serious. ;)

this is going pretty well for me. the blotchiness is down, i just shaved for the first time in a week with my electric shaver, and for the first time basically ever, i didn't have a bunch of red dots popping up along my jaw line, just a bunch of dead skin coming up, which came off pretty easily. still have 2 red spots where i just had pimples above my upper lip that just don't seem to want to go away, but i'm sure they will fade with time. all this time i've been told to wash my face more by people, and now i'm not washing it all, and it's better than ever! unbelievable! I better watch what I say though, because as soon as I get excited, something bad always happens to my skin. Lets hope this is a long term plan!

Like Wapak said, we still shower. I normally shower daily. However, (unlike wapak, apparently) I've stopped using body wash as well. If soap has a bad effect on your face, it would anywhere else. I do still shampoo however (I either do it over a sink or bend backwards in the shower). You can give up shampoo if you want, but you'd have to go through the same crap you'd go through for your face (oiliness, flaking) for about two/three weeks. And I don't think I could handle that xD

How do I stay clean? I'm a girl, and a very feminine girl at that, so this is important to me. When I shower, I just use a washcloth and water to scrub myself down. Once a week, I do it all Roman bath style:

1) Apply olive oil to one's skin head to toe

2) Let sit

3) Use the back of a butter knife to scrape off oil

4) Bathe

In Rome, this was similar to how they would bathe, except they bathed in huge bath houses, used scented olive oil, and instead of using a butter knife, they had a curved metal instrument called a strigil to scrape away the oil.

I got a little carried away with this, huh? xD

Anyway, that's my answer.

:)

Amazing! That's the first time I've heard how romans bathed and to think that someone is doing it is simply amazing.

Btw, I only use soap on areas that are susceptible to germs and odor buildup. Like arm pits, hands, feet, etc

I have bacne but it is significantly calming down by now using soap and water on it.
