Interesting! I´ve been on accutane, but I didnt clear 100%. Its been up and down for the last 6 months, and I have not figured out what caused the good times and the bad times. But this seems the way to go for me. The only problem seems to be shaving, so anyone have some experiences to share?
Sorry about my bad english, I´m Norwegian
I'm on day 7 of not washing my face and I must say I am pleased with how it's going so far. I have been on some form of topical regimen for the past 6 years (I'm 22 now) and I really feel that it was contributing to my acne. I had my best success on the DKR but I have been on it for 3 years and have experienced the roller coaster that is great skin one week and terrible the next.
For the past 2 months or so I had been only doing the regimen once a day at night and I noticed an immediate improvement to my skin. It was less dry and breakouts occurred less often. This got me thinking that maybe my skin needs a break from 6 years of chemicals and to be given a chance to heal on its own.
So far I have had a few very small whiteheads appear just around my mouth area which heal very fast. I was always under the impression that if I ever stopped using BP that I would have the biggest breakout of my life! On the first few days my skin was very flaky but this seems to have died down a bit. I also developed a red rash on either side of my nose which is really flaky but the redness is reducing by the day. This morning when I woke up my forehead was very flaky as well but all the flakes seem to have fallen off throughout the day.
For shaving I am using an electric razor daily as I grow hair pretty quickly and it seems to irritate my skin if I don't shave every day. I only developed the whiteheads around my mouth when I tried not shaving for 3 days.
It is so great to not have to put cleansers/lotions/moisturizer on my face every day. I am definitely going to stick with this as it seems that adam, wapak, yepican and others noticed the best results after around 3 weeks. I'm currently avoiding everything including water. In your guys' experience do you suggest that I let my face run under cold water after the 10 day mark or just continue with no water at all?
I'll keep you all posted with how this goes.
With your experience, I can say that it is the same with me. Don't let water touch your face. I have let mine on the 14th day because I can not take the dead skin anymore. After that I didn't let water touch again, the dead skin mask returned but less until now there is no dead skin mask anymore. Just normal skin.
I have just recently tried letting water touch my skin again the other day. Just observing for any reaction now.
Update: Day 6, I believe. Everything is going good so far, no major breakouts except for a few minor, barely noticeable whiteheads. I did use a tiny bit of tea tree oil on a few of the whiteheads, but it's all natural so I don't consider it cheating exactly lol. The only major thing are some red marks that haven't faded yet. I'm getting pretty optimistic about this regimen, but still have a feeling that a cyst will pop up any day now. Anyone else had any major breakouts/cysts appear after starting this regimen?
Sorry I haven't seen this asked here but...
Any thoughts about growing a beard on this regimen? Since it would help cover up the dryness etc at first... and because the last time I grew my beard out my face underneath it was super clean and looked great after shaving, then I added bp to it... and well acne came back on it (surprise)
So: Beard okay or not?
I've been washing on average once a day with only water when I take a shower. My pores are really clogged and my face isn't doing much better. I'm considering the no wash method but it's so hard to follow through with when you get something on your face or come home dirty. Also, people like iamsnow take multiple showers a day and had good results. I am just so confused.

r u experiencing a thin build-up of dead skin washing with only water?
Well
Day 2
I notice my face looks better already, flakyness from DKR has gone down by a megaton in one day of not having any of it on my face, and my complexion has evened out.
Also I'm going into this with 3 minor-moderate cysts(I haven't had any in months right up until trying DKR morning and night), one of which came to a whitehead this evening after work, I went to the washroom about 2 hours after noticing it, and noticed that holy shit it was gone, with a minor scab in its place.
So, this has never happened before, I'm not really sure what to do, should I wash that spot or hope that some acid has formed and will kill it more? Anyone else have this happen within the first few days with whiteheads or anything?
I've been wondering, with this regimen, should we just try to let our scars fade naturally? Is there something else we can do to help diminish scars that won't interfere with this? I know turmeric juice has been mentioned for red marks. Would that help those of us with dark hyper pigmentation?

I've experienced the same thing. The dead skin mask seems to eventually go away on it's own. However, I have been letting water touch my face maybe once, sometimes twice, a week in the shower. So I'm not sure if the dead skin mask is related to water. But who knows, maybe that's your personal reaction to water. Maybe for some people it will create the dead skin mask and for others it won't.

That has happened occasionally for me, though I'm not sure if it was in the first few days of trying this. I just left my skin alone. I didn't wash it or anything. I know sometimes with scabs, at least for me, a pimple will develop under the scab. Im not sure how to prevent that from happening.

Not at all compared to what I had on the no water regimen. Also, just a thought I had: we are essentially pioneering the next possible scientific breakthrough in modern health/medicine and skincare.
Yeah, the scientific breakthrough that skin-care industry business is fearing to be exposed.
About the scars, you can let them fade naturally. I'm not sure about dark hyper pigmentation though. I'm still just experimenting with turmeric juice too on my marks.
Just going to add this:
I've been on this for 10 months now; started in May last year.
I can tell you that this will help your acne, but it will not cure it. Of course your mileage can vary, but this has just been my experience. I'd highly recommend staying off topicals because it will notably improve your condition over a period of months. However, you'll probably still be suffering from the symptoms because you aren't actually treating the underlying cause. In the 10 months I've been on this, I've probably had completely clear skin on a random 3 days interspersed throughout.
Therefore, you may want to look into other causes: Do you have a zinc deficiency? Are you Vitamin D deficient (stay inside all day?)? Do you get enough sleep? Have you proven to be allergic to milk?
You have to be actively fighting this. Doing nothing will help a bit (especially if you were on topicals before; stay off those nasty things), but in order to push over the edge and kill the damned thing, you're going to have to go through some methods to figure out what's going on. Right now I'm washing with just water, no soaps whatsoever, and I notice my skin improve a little bit because of this because I'm washing, but there's nothing to irritate the skin with.
Hope this helps.
u make some interesting points. this will not be a cure all for some, but I believe those people who aren't suffering from hormonal acne or acne caused by diet should see their acne completely clear up by doing this. i'll be 20 in 3 weeks so any acne that appears should not be because of hormonal. i must ask, what is your current age if you don't mind me asking?

Yes, this is the reason why I started eating fruits, veggies, do exercise, get right amount of sleep drink lots of water and have proper bowel movement.

you make a really good point here. i didn't think of it like that! If our acne isn't related hormonally or by diet, what is it caused by???? thanks !
So, I'm on Day 5
My Cystic Acne has cleared up pretty well, of the 3 I had, 2 are no longer bumps but just have some dead skin over them, then the last one has had most of the swelling go down, and is less red with some dead skin starting to cover it. Definitely have quite a bit of dead skin buildup now, mostly around the areas that had it terribly bad from DKR though, so thats an improvement. I had about 4-5 whiteheads over the weekend that completely disappeared within a day of forming each, and have gone down. Oh and when I see dead skin that looks disconnected from my face (or sitting on my beard growth, ugh) I usually pull it off with a pair of tweezers carefully.
Currently I row and run almost every night for 10 minutes each, and have cut milk out of my diet since starting this, even though I'm not allergic to anything, I figure the hormones could be causing harm.
Overall: swelling down, acne down, thin layer of dead skin up, cysts mostly healed/gone.
I figure ill check back in another 5 days or so.
(edit: I also went right from DKR to this, in case that matters to anyone)
