I don't want to use a moisturizer. I just can't have a flake of dead skin fall off my face while I'm at my job or anything like that. It's not a matter of I wish it wouldn't it's more like if it does I could be fired because I work in a restaurant.
Edit: Yepican: do you wash your face with water or avoid it all together? Sorry if you posted this before but this thread has gotten rather long.

Understood. Right now I'm washing with water right after my shower at nighttime. Immediately after washing tho my forehead (where most my acne is/was) appears worse, but mysteriously when I wake up in the morning my skin looks great for the day 2 come!
I started this today.
The only thing I'm doing different is allowing water to run down my face, because I have oily skin.
I have a question though, can anyone post a picture of their face with the dead skin?
If not, can someone tell me if it's super noticeable? Like can you see the dead skin all over your face? Kinda like a disease?

It's mostly only noticeable to you. If you scratch it though it will be noticeable to others.
Actually, appearance of oiliness will subside with this. If you get used to not letting water touch your face then it is better since you have less factors to think about that may cause you to break out if ever that happens.
In my case, I have oil slick on top of my skin a few hours after I wash my face with anything(face wash, water, etc). With this do nothing regimen, I left the oil on top of my skin alone for 4-5 days, it became less and less noticeable until you seem to have a normal skin. It actually felt greasy underneath but when you look in the mirror there is no shiny spot on your face. And once you get used to the feeling of greasiness it will become normal as before you do this. It's as if the greasy feeling disappeared because you got used to it.
I wish all the best to those who are just starting this! I have a log and pictures of my quest with this. It might serve as a good reference to you guys.
yea good luck guys. The dead skin mask is gonna be bad, at least for me it was but don't let it stop you from completing the regimen. Leave the dead skin on for around 3 to 4 weeks, then after that i say its time for it to be removed. Use your fingernail or do what i did use an electric trimmer to take it off.
I noticed my skin was a lot better after hunting and not showering all weekend, or being sick and not showering. (Even on top of not using topicals and not washing) I will try to take shorter showers but how do you guys avoid getting your face wet while washing your hair?
I have been doing it for god knows how long and have got to the stage where my skin is covered in dead skin and is flaking a little bit.
My face looks bad due to a few annoying little pimples and a load of red marks, but for the most part it is nice and smooth. Shaving is a bitch though, the places where my pimples have popped up have been in the areas where i have facial hair and i think when i shave with my electric trimmer it irritates the skin still . i shaved this morning and i hope it doesn't flare up again.
About showering and the whole keeping water off your face... i recommend titling your head back and also using cool/cold water when washing the hair. It does not dry out the skin like hot water.
for shaving. just use a normal disposable razor, i use Nivea for Mens sensitive shaving cream after i take a shower. then after i wash my face with cold water. i only shave once a week and it's actually helped my skin a lot by shaving off all the dead skin cells without breaking out.
people say electric razors are better for acne. i really dont think so. you'll still get a break out and not as good of a shave than using a disposable razor, so i would just stick to wet shaving just to shave less.
It's day 35 and things seem pretty good. The main thing I've learned is to not mess with my face at all: No picking and no scraping off dead skin. I also try to limit my time in the sun since I'm not wearing sunscreen and I don't want my scars to get darker. I do rinse my face when I'm in the shower, every once in a while. I try to use conditioner instead of shampoo so it's not as drying on my skin when I rinse it out. It all seems to be working well.
Even if this doesn't clear my skin up after 4 or 5 months, I think I'll stick with it. It's so much easier and doesn't seem to make my acne any worse. My skin is a lot less irritated and I can see it healing. Even though it's only maybe 15% clearer, at this point, it looks and feels a lot healthier.
Ok, I've finally finished reading all 28 pages of this and it's all very interesting. I've decided to start this method right now. However, I have been using ProActiv for a few years now so I have a bad feeling that my face is going to break out big time during the first few days/weeks..Anyone else who has tried this after using Proactiv or similar medications? Did you break out bad at first?
I was on the DKR prior to starting this method and I had a terrible initial breakout. Prior to the DKR I had been on topcials for several years so when I stopped using topicals altogether my skin completely went crazy. It was probably the worst my acne has ever been. But it's been somewhere close to two months now and it's starting to improve. I'm still nowhere near clear but it's getting better. I've also changed my diet substantially so the improvements may be due to that too.

I was on proactive for 30 days before instantly switching to this. No breakout happened on my clear areas on the face. Though the existing acne on my jaw line didn't cleared up even after 30 days with this, I only lost my cyst and the new pimples are smaller. I used turmeric juice over the problem areas and it is now clearing up. Good luck on you dude! Check out my log and my album to see how my experience go with this.
there are so many new ingredients in face cleansers, moisturizers , shampoos, conditioners - things that smooth the hair shaft, glide onto the face all these things are silicone like or similar to that. this has got to be bad for acne prone skin - for example, if a shampoo/conditioner silicone ingredient grabs onto the hair cuticle and does not get rinsed away with water - if it gets on your skin , as in the shower, isnt it going to grab onto your skin as well? When i look at all the ingredients used in face cleansers, moisturizers etc , even in the ones made by the dermatologists , such as murad, they are using some ingredients that sound like they could irritate and clog pores , even though they call them non-comedogenic. i went into the health food store hoping to find a back to nature, basic product. Even for a simple aloe vera product, they add stuff to gel it (some use dimethicone!) that scares me because anything that gels could cause breakouts. In my complete disappointment and frustration, i ended up going out and buying an aloe vera plant! they are inexpensive and very easy to take care of. i dont know if its healthful for the skin or not because juicy/gel from the leaves may be a bit alkaline but this may be better to use on acne prone skin then all the other stuff out there. it doesnt have a pretty smell , but if it prevents more breakouts, may be worth it.
niece has breakouts from shampoo/conditioner , to the point of breaking out on the side of her face that the shampoo water runs down and within a matter of 12 hours! she tries to keep the suds out of her face but too difficult. she- even tried washing with a cleanser imediately after shampoo/cond. But all these "cones" in the product may not be easily washed off the skin, after all -they claim that they grab onto and cling onto your hair to make it smooth etc. Maybe the acidic nature of - apple cider vinegar mixed with water and dabbed on for a minute or two immediately after using shampoo/conditioner - may work to break down dimethicone , other silicones ?? we will try it.
nice find there dude! I'm lucky that is not my problem because I don't use shampoo anymore.
Search on google "no poo method", I believe this will solve most of our problems regarding shampoo.
