Yep, that's my photo. Thanks for the compliment smile.gif .

The thing is, the acne never really bothered me too much because I would have long periods where it wouldn't be bad, but them BAM, it would get bad for a little bit. I always knew eventually it would go away once I got health insurance and was able to get treated. The thing that really bothers me are the scars! I don't have any deep ones, but I have a lot of shallow ones. I can't wait to get a dermabrasion or something. I have to wait for a while since I just stopped accutane.

There is also the LACK of things being told to me. People used to tell me I was pretty, or I should do modeling because of my face, but now I don't get that really anymore, so I know my skin is a problem. My face is all scarred up from past acne. I think it really bothers ME the most though because I don't recognize what I see in the mirror.

wow..this thread is terrible but i relate to most of them. esp. the typical "do you wash your face ever?" GRR! like having acne means you're dirty/unsanitary. still, most of it i didn't think twice about. the only thing that really hurt was:

my mom took me to go get my proactiv. i had just gotten into a fight with my boyfriend (ex-boyfriend now). my mom really liked my ex-boyfriend and always sided w/ him when we fought & blamed me for our relationship problems. anyway, she takes a long look at me as we're ringing up the proactiv and says, "Maybe Andrew doesn't like you because you have pimples."

as if he was better than me and she couldn't see why a good looking guy like him would date an acne-ridden girl like me. i started crying right there in the middle of the mall and everyone looked at me which made it worse. i couldn't believe my mom could be that shallow. it still bothers me to this day....

"Ewww..Do you have Herpes?"<-- my favorite

"Damn, you need some Proactiv!"

"what's on your face?"

" You should pop that."

When I was in high school a group of older guys used to pick on me. They gave me clearisil or something for christmas one year. Hilarious. They made my life miserable and were always making nasty comments and staring at me. They graduated before I cleared up from accutane.

I saw them at a bar about six years or so after they graduated. Their jaws hit the floor. My skin was perfect, I had no scarring, and I was hot. They hit on me all night and seemed to forget that they had tortured me in high school. I let them buy me drinks all night and didn't even bother to bring up what assholes they were. Living well is the best revenge!

I'm broke out and on accutane again, but fuck it, I'm still hot!

I would have let them buy me drinks then i would have thrown it in their faces, but you handled better than i would.

i got my first pimples on my forehead when i was only 8. And of course, there are always bullies at school who will make sure to point out that you have them.

I remember once, this really popular guy in school, who was a couple of years older, once pointed at me and said "look at this kid, shes got zits like shes already in puberty, muahaha".

that was when i actually became aware of them.

And then there was one really bad episode, this one time when i went to a summer tennis camp when I was 11, and all the boys at the camp referred to me as "the pimple", and they would loudly exclaim "dont go near her, she'll give you pimples!" whenever they saw me.

it was horrible.

as i grew older people got better though.

"You need Proactive"

"Why are you so ugly?" =Made me feel like hidious shit when im really not

"Why dont you just get a new face?"=wish it was that easy.

The saddest part about it is that they are my so called "friends" who said this.

I guess i'm very lucky never to have had anyone say anything half as bad as some of your ones. I'm glad too because it would hurt me like hell. I just don't do well with that kind of cold criticism. I wonder why or how people could ever be so cruel, but it is because they haven't been through what we have been through, have they? Most of the time anyway. Sometimes they are just downright evil

I guess the worst that was said to me was:

Guy, [to a girl sitting near me] "oh he just dissed you!" (i hadn't said anything the guy was just starting trouble.)

Girl, "Well look at him then!" meaning my ugly acne.

i felt so good lol.

actually, the most comments ive had are from my acne gallery. Spineless gutless jerks who have acne themselves but call people names because they feel so bad. I feel sorry for them more.

ALWAYS KEEP YOUR CHIN UP. no one on this earth can judge you except god, so dont worry, they will get theirs lol.

Keep strong my friends

"Look at all those pimples" some kid said that while sitting next to his friend AND getting his *ing hand in my face to point them out.

"I don't want to be your friend anymore, too much acne and scars"

"You're ugly"

"it looks like someone just took a pistol to your face and unloaded on to you"

"You have pimple scars, ew that's disgusting"

"You should visit a dermatologist"

"Look at all those pimples, what a failure, just kill yourself, no one needs someone that ugly alive"

"Get the fuck outta here you pimply mother*er"

Refering to my blackheads: "What the hell? Do you shave your nose or something"

"man, you have oily skin, I'm glad I'm not you"

"You will never get a g/f. You're too pimply"

Those are the ones I'll never, ever forget.

hmmm....i think the worst ones come when you are not expecting them and are caught off guard. i've had all the usual ones but here's the rest::

Situation 1: i got a new haircut and i walked in the door. i asked my father 'so what do you think about my new haircut'? and he goes "DAMN gurl, you need to get to a dermotalgist!" god i wanted to punch him (he had acne tho growing up and now has scars btw)

Situation 2: this gurl at my school came up to me and was like "if i had acne like that i would have killed myself already" hehe yeah thanks alot bitch.

Situation 3: People telling you everyday that your acne is getting better when it looks 10x worse just to make you feel better. don't sugarcoat it! we know we have acne! god, some people point it out to you like 'hey you have pimples!" DUH. i think we look in the mirror every morning! doubt.gif

luckily i use good makeup to cover up redmarks. but for some people who has seen them .. like i said before. my aunt is the most straightfoward about makin me feel bad about my skin.

*gasp and points finger right at me and screams*:"Scarface!!" : thats so immature..

my grandmother was commenting me on how much weight i had lost and then she wanted me to push the hair outta my face to see how much weight i lost there. i felt embarrased of my red marks and didn't want to show and then my aunt chimes in and tells my grandmother "she always picking at her face. she has scars."

about 6 months ago, my uncle notices for the first time about my redmarks and he gasps and makes me show him.. and then he goes to call my aunt and she gasps and tells me "isn't that proactiv working?" i said "yeah it helped." and she said "well it better work faster!!"

i was in my room, and my cousin comes to me saying "my mom called you a scarface" . and i just shut the door in his face.

theres a lot more where that came from but a lotta my low self esteem came from my aunt it appears.

my redmarks are almost gone now. but the emotional pain is still there. but im workin on it slowly. to regain my self esteem and return my skin to the way it was a year ago.

Ok possibly not the meanest thing ever said. But... just today I got after my friend:

Me: How long did I have that chunk of chocolate on my face and you didn't say anything? Grrrr....

Her: Well I thought it might be an exploding zit or something... which is why I didn't say anything.

LOL.. whatever!

My mom: "You should really put some make up on to cover up those zits..you look horrible" Then she gets all sad and starts crying.."you used to have such nice skin but it's all your fault for picking at it..you ruined your face"

Brother (who is 29 by the way): "Omg, you are disgusting HOLY SHIT"

It used to hurt my feelings so much. I dont remember a day when they haven't said those things to me and made me feel like dirt. I refused to go outside. I even skipped my classes. I'm all clear now and don't have to hear their nasty remarks but yeah...those were the worst things ANYONE has ever said to me.

Okay I think you guys will like this one...

Me and a few friends were talking to these girls...

One of my friends was thinking he was so cool with little sort of pubic hair on his chin... So my other friend says "that's a little shitty pubic hair beard"...

So of course I laugh a little has I tough it was funny...

And the fucker says to me "what are you laughing about? You have a beard of pimples"... That of course right in front of the girls...

today I have a real beard and he still has that little pub hair thing gooing on...

no one has every said anything to me about my acne. Well my mom and dad have said "What happened to your face" on a few days cause I broke out really bad but I dont mind cause they are always supportive in me getting whatever medicine I need to treat it and pay for it too (even though I have health insurance). And im pretty much clear now thanks to dans reg with no scarring so whatever. I definately know that people have NOTICED it though...i guess they just kept their comments to themselves :/

I was hanging out at a friends house with about 6 people and this girl I barley know is talking on her cell phone right behind me and says to a friend bring some hot tall guys (im 6 2) that dont have acne and im the only one there with acne. I was the maddest I have been in some time that might not be the meanest thing anyone ever said, but it was fairly recent and came to mind.
