I don't get anything partiularly mean per say. People just think it's helpful if they point out the fact that I've had a break out. No man, I can see that for myself and I'm already sensitive about it. Also my parents constantly telling me that what I eat has anything to do with my breaking out.

However I had two little girls call me beautiful a couple weeks ago. It was great, they're very sweet. Sometimes people can be just awesome.

I stay away from little kids as much as I can. They don't understand it and ALWAYS make a comment or ask questions. Little bastards.

In 19th grade, my acne wasn't too bad, but I was one of the only people in my class who had it, so...We were in this group that read to the younger kids...Like 1st graders, and some little brat called me "Freckle face" after we were telling him to sit his dumb ass down. My friend heard it and laughed but I pretended not to hear it, because..well, what can you do? It's a fucking 7 year old.

My cousin said "Nice zits" once, I told her "Just wait, you'll get them in a few months.." because my mom told me she (my cousin) just had her first period; Low and behold, saw her a few months later and she had little pimples on her nose and chin, I looked her right in the eyes and said "nice zits. Told you, didn't I?" she called me a "dork" lol...She's not allowed to swear so that's the worst she can do.

I told my sister not to wear make-up to bed because her face would end up breaking out...Helpful advice, you'd expect a thanks, right? Hell no, the little bitch goes "Psht...Seen your face lately?" I'm 18, this happened a couple months ago, but I went right to my mom and told on her, hahaha, it was the funniest thing ever, my mom said she couldn't go to her boyfriend's family's Cabin for a month (she goes like everyday) for being a bitch. I explained to her I was just trying to help, and she apologized, but she still couldn't go to the Cabin. It was great...I love narking on her every now and then to keep her in check.

My acne effects my emotions so much now because I don't think it's that noticable or bad...If someone commented about it now, depending on what they said, my response would range literally from complete anger, "Shut the fuck up, moron!" for them trying to be nice about it, or incredible pain for them if they meant it in a harmful manner....I can honestly say if some little girl made fun of me like the previous poster said, I would drill her in the face. I have an anger problem when it comes to people making fun of me, because I happen to like everything about myself, except my acne...If someone were to make fun of me, I'd knock them out because I can't handle it. Sounds lame, but it's true....I won't let some little 'tard bring me down.

Oh, thought of another...

I got in a fight once with some kid...Me and my friend did, and we both happened to have acne...My friend's acne was 100 times worse than mine...Mine wasn't too bad, my friend has cysts and stuff, I just had little pimples, anyways....The kid we were fighting with goes "At least I don't have pimples all over my face!" and I looked at my friend, my friend looked at the kid and goes "Who are you talking about?" and the kid pointed to me and said "Him." I was pretty surprised by this, and I was pissed off, so I hit him once in the eye, then my friend jumped him....I'm surprised I never got in trouble for that fight, the County Shariff's Office caleld my house that very day to "talk to me about an assault" that I commited...I returned his call but he never returned mine....From what I hear, that kid was in the hospital for a couple weeks, and he had to use a Catheder to urinate for a while because my friend was kicking him in the stomach and damaged his kidney's....Yes, my friend is a psycho...I only hit the kid once for his comment, I wasn't a violent person back then...I'm still not unless someone says something about my acne...Hell, I even get pissed when the word "acne" is said around me..

Oh yea, I think they decided not to rpess charges because the kid knew he started it..Not only with that comment, but the fact that he told us to "fuck off" and started calling us names when all I did was rode past him on my bike and said "Hey, whats up?" because I used to go to school with him...I guess he didn't like me for some reason..lol.

Yes, I do feel bad about that fight now, and if I saw him again I'd apologize because I never wanted him to get hurt like that...My friend is just an idiot.

you know what's the worst? i finally got up the guts to go out of the house with no makeup. GO ME! right, well i went to my psychiatrist appt. and the first thing he said to me in his french accent was "i notice you have some redness in your face. i am going to recomend a very good dermatolagist....blabla. have you tried anything for ze acne?" i told him about the accutane, benzaclin, tazorac, retin A, benoxyl etc etc etc. i almost cried. not the fact that he was mean. he was not. but it just killed the confidende i had for not wearing makeup. promptly afterwards i picked up more dermblend. damn acne. the regimen better work.

So....Your psychiatrist...is an insensitive...uncaring jackass? I wonder if he missed the "people have FEELINGS" lecture in school...

What a dickweed.

the thing that sticks out the most for me is something that my dad said to me...I was having a fun time just sitting around with my family and my dad was looking through binoculars at the hills and suddenly looked at my face with the binoculars and said, "oh look! pimples!!"......I couldn't understand why he would say that...I'm really sensitive and that really really hurt me. I left and tried to forget it but ended up crying.

I think your dad was just trying to be funny - like let's make a joke out of it to show that it's okay and that it's really nothing to feel bad about. It was probably done in bad taste, but I doubt he had any ill intentions.

the same thing happens to me, only with my brother's girlfriend, when speaking to her she will only scan my face as I talk...which makes me want to shuck her in the throat..but I refain.

People are just so mean and insensitive. Even best friends can be...

"What are all those black dots (clogged pores) on ur face?" infront of my whole class.

"If i had your skin i would kill myself!"

My best friend said both these things to my face and infront of people then wondered why i was offended. Some people are just so self- absorbed it sickens me...

I used to teach preschool. When my red marks were really bad, you could still see them under layers of makeup. One 3 year old told me "What are all those purple dots on your face? I like them".

I don't know why she said she liked them....maybe she thought I was a clown. I don't know where purple came from either, but I really wanted to tell her to go sit in a corner for the rest of class. Kids are so blunt, and sometimes they are the ones that make you feel worse then adults.

My family was getting ready to leave in the van. My sister (10 at the time, I was 15) was annoying me with this ball she kept throwing around. So I made a comment about the ball and she said, "well, at least my ball doesn't have red dots all over it". What a B, lol. My stepmom told her that when she got a bump we would make her a cake that looked like a zit and celebrate. It hurt her feelings pretty bad, especially for her mom to take up for me.

This is actually kinda sweet of my brother but it still hurt my feelings a little. We were at the pool, he was in the water and I was out. He said, "from far away, your skin doesn't look that bad"..he's 11. I was 24.

I'm still peeved about this one. I was in Statesboro, GA with my boyfriend. I decided not to wear foundation that day, just concealer. We stopped at a convenience store and parked beside these three men in a white truck. My boyfriend went in and left me in the car. As soon as he walked in the door, the guy close to me started saying, "hey girl, psst, hey, I know you hear me". I just turned my head the other way. Then he said, "Hey, your not that good looking...blah sickle cell on your face...blah." Then they pulled away. Sickle cell?? What a moron?? But it still hurt my feelings. My face wasn't even broken out, just some left over redness and light scars.

I like this thread

For me the most embarassing thing was when my sister and brother in law asked me what I wanted for my birthday and I couldn't think of anything and my neice says "she needs some stuff for her face" and even did hand motions like she was washing her face. She is little so she didnt know any better but I was pretty embarassed but I just laughed it off

Another incident was when my friend took a picture of my face on my digital camera and I went to delete it right away but she said "no you look cute" and showed her sister and her sister said "ya, and you cant even see that HUGE dot on her face" ( i just got a huge zit on my cheek) they both started laughing and I did too cuz I didnt want to make a big deal or anything, oh well

I dont know, I dont have any really mean things, at least my friends dont say anything about it when Im around, and I dont think Ive heard any strangers comment my skin...at least nothing I can think of now.

The worst comments I get are from my family... They really bother me though.

My mum has told me that:

"It's not really common to have spots at your age" (Im 23, turning 24, but when she said it I was around 20) and my brother (whos about the same age as me, but has clear skin) has several times gone:

"You're way too old to still have pimples." (just a couple of weeks ago, in fact)

Really bugs me.

Its like...

Yeah...thanks, I know...Im trying to treat them, what the hell more should I do? They wont go away just because theyre not supposed to be there.

My younger brother called me "Miss Acne". It doesn't help that I always break out the week before my cycle... so I was extremely emotional and basically sobbed about it for a while. Now when I think about it I think of some fancy pants guy on a stage calling out the winner for the "Miss Acne" competition... and then me going up to accept my tiara and my sceptre shaped like a black head extractor.

Bwah ha ha-- just you wait, little brother. Just you wait.

Some Vietnamese prick at a haircut place (the guy who cut my hair) said "astringent...fo' heaya and heaya" or something along those lines...yeah, thanks a lot, moron. I should've mocked the way this idiot talked...he sounded like a woman. He also had it written down on a piece of paper...b/c afterall, I needed the word so I could look it up. Or maybe he realizes that he can't speak understandable English consistently.

My brother jokes about it, but he has it too so it's no big deal...we make fun of each other.

I haven't really noticed people looking at it too much, although I HAVE gotten the odd "you have a big zit/whitehead in such and such" a location. Thanks for noticing!

You know...if anyone mentions your acne, you should just say "Well, there is one way to get rid of it--start sucking, BITCH...since you have enough practice in that area"...we should start a thread with witty retorts for comments jackasses make.

Of course, some of the best are throwing their flaws back at them. Some fat kid once told me "have you heard of salicilic acid?" so I responded with "have you heard of SlimFast?"

That guy cutting your hair was probably gay. You should have responded something like this "Ahh thanks for the tip queer bait!"

When I had acne around my lip area

"Is that acne or is that herpes"

On Halloween

"Your face is a great costume"

When I had acne all over my face

"You look like you've been stung by 100 bees"

Damn. I shouldn't have read this thread. Brings back some painful memories
