Pros:

isn't too oily.
simple routine.
doesn't dry out skin.

Cons:

can only use at night time.

it worked well, so far. but i think if you use it in the morning, yu wont' get the results you want for a certain reason (depending on skin type)

Pros:

clears up white heads and inflamation. basically takes you from moderate to light then dumps you.

Cons:

doesnt clear up light acne, a little drying

if you have like inflammed bumps or white heads, basically moderate acne this stuff works really well. I got a little dryness, i just used a dry washcloth to get it off and used a liquid foundation instead. you may want to use an internal medication with this topical as well to clear up acne more.

Pros:

Smother skin after a week

Cons:

Dries skin around eyes and lips but can be controlled with added moisturizer. Causes redness.

I have been using it for about a month. My main concern are blackheads and once-a-month breakouts. So far it made me look red and dry but that's what the doctor said will happen. I'm giving it 3 months.

Pros:

makes your skin glow, keeps it young, works slowly on acne, just keep it up

Cons:

broke out for a while, by awhile, I mean like 3 months.

So I seriously went on this thing SO MUCH just to find out more info on retin-A-micro. it was soooo frustrating going day after day with nothing working, so i started using benzaclin which doesnt prevent pimples but dries them out instantly, and then finally in april i started a new pill with lower estrogen and im FINALLY clear. I cant tell you exactly what is doing the job, but i bet it's all three of the meds. I know the retin-A is keeping my skin looking young,at the very least. Good good luck :) (oh and it didnt make my skin peel and get red like a lot of people, i used vitamin E lotion which is really cheap and you can find it at drug stores, keeps your face from getting so dry)

Pros:

works (eventually), smoother skin

Cons:

redness initially, peeling, dryness, minor initial breakout.

worth it. I've been on it for 3 1/2 months and i have two pimples left. only nose blackheads, and overall very smooth skin. People compliment me now, and I feel great! Try it, what do you have to lose? Be patient though, I wasn't even remotely happy until 3 months, although my skin began clearing at 1 1/2 months. Redmarks are slowly fading.

April 26, 2009

Pros:

Seems to be working

Cons:

Red, dry, peeling

I'm giving this a 4 rating even though I'm not sure yet... because, the real reason I'm putting this post is to tell people: STOP POSTING AND PUTTING RATINGS FOR THIS PRODUCT UNLESS YOU'VE USED IT FOR A LONG ENOUGH TIME. SOME PEOPLE HAVE PUT POSTS AFTER ONLY A FEW DAYS OF USE. THAT IS RIDICULOUSLY STUPID AS WELL AS CONFUSING TO PEOPLE WHO WANT TO KNOW HOW THE PRODUCT ACTUALLY WORKS!!!

Pros:

Getting rid of my wrinkles, and clearing up

Cons:

A lot of dryness and peeling around the mouth and chin area

The trentinion was working really well for about the first month but this week has been brutal! I'm pretty sure my skin will look a lot obetter again within a day or two (I'M HOPING) I stopped using my salycilic face wash because I think it's just irritating with all of the peeling that's going on and I just bought Cetaphil daily moisturizer and face wash. Hopefully I see fantastic results with my face in the next couple of weeks.

Pros:

Cleared up acne and scars, prevented breakouts (I have really greasy skin that pimples just love, good thing i managed to decrease it to mild before I used this product), I can actually rub my cheeks and barely feel any bumps, whereas before I could.

Cons:

None. However, I did get a slight dryness in it. I dont really understand why people could have cons about this product, however I am only on my second week.
Anyways, in order to get something perfect, you have to make some sacrifices.

Great product.

Pros:

Makes skin even toned and works consistent

Cons:

Inital period of breakout, peeling and overdryness

I've used this for 2 weeks and I can see pretty good improvements. It made me breakout in the first week with many small inflamed zits, but starting the 2nd week my face is starting to clear up. Since the second week, I've havn't had any new pimples yet. My derm. told me to apply this only at night and thats what I did. After I use it at night, I mix some jojoba oil w/ my moisterizer and it really fights against the flakyness and overdrying effects of tretinoin. If this product keeps on working, then I should get clear pretty soon!

Finding a Doctor

The right dermatologist can make a big difference to your patient experience and the success of your acne treatment plan. Here are the steps to find a dermatologist who is a good fit:

  1. Use the search feature on the American Academy of Dermatology website to look for board-certified dermatologists in your area, and filter the search results for doctors with a special interest in treating acne.
  2. Read online patient reviews of any dermatologists you are considering and ask people you know whether they have any experience with these dermatologists.
  3. Do your research and go to your first appointment with questions prepared.
  4. Listen to what your gut feeling tells you once you see a dermatologist in person. If you are not completely comfortable, try a different dermatologist.

Finding a Doctor

Only a select few plastic surgeons specialize in acne scar revision surgery. Be certain to find a provider who specializes in acne scar repair and who is passionate and experienced in this area.

Be sure to:

  • Look at before and after photos, the more the better, especially patients with similar scarring to your own.
  • Be realistic about results. Look for improvement, not a cure.

Questions to ask a potential scar revision specialist:

  • Are you board certified? Be certain that they are board certified.
  • How long have you been performing these procedures? Normally, the more experience the better, however, some younger surgeons may be more on top of the latest procedures.
  • Can I speak to some of your other patients? Ask for references for several patients who had similar scarring and speak to them about the process and their satisfaction with results.

Red flags:

  • Their story changes: As you discuss different treatment options, if they tend to change their mind easily, or agree with whatever you say, consider this a red flag. A confident, experienced surgeon will possess strong, unwavering opinions.
  • Your gut tells you "no": Trust your gut. If you just don't feel that the doctor is the right fit, trust that and move on. On the other hand, if you feel they are the perfect specialist for you, trust that feeling.
