Topical Silicone Treatment

Immediately after treatment:

• Applying a silicone gel or a silicone gel sheet/cushion may cause a local skin reaction, such as itching, a rash, or skin breakdown (maceration). These side effects will resolve once treatment is stopped. When it comes to silicone gel sheets or cushions, just wearing the sheets/cushions for a shorter time without stopping the treatment completely may be enough for the side effects to disappear.

Days and weeks after treatment:

• If the treatment causes skin breakdown (maceration), this side effect can take a couple of days to disappear after treatment is stopped.

Longer term:

• This treatment does not cause any long-term side effects.
