Due to its antimicrobial properties and ability to absorb skin oil and dry out the skin, sulfur has been used for thousands of years for various skin conditions, including acne. However, it is normally reserved for noninflammatory acne (whiteheads and blackheads), because it doesn't work as well as other over-the-counter medications for inflammatory acne (papules and pustules).

Product used: Murad (Acne Complex)
Cons:
Stopped working all together after a few months. Used to have a lot of small pimples, now I have a few rather large ones at all times. I can handle the small ones better than the large ones!!
Not worth the money!!! I have tried many cheaper products from Wal-Mart and had better success than with this product and at a fraction of the price. I have been looking everywhere to try and find a product that actually works....guess I'll try another one!

Pros:

If you think this is your local pharmacy's acne medication, you'll be trading in your big zits for little whiteheads.
I think this product is right on the line between OTC and RX strength, and it took me by surprise, being just a "soap". The first couple of days were fine (big acne clearing up) but then my chin started to break out into little whiteheads and I'm talking like two dozen. Went to KAVI's support forum and surprise, surprise, not only was I not the only one, but their customer support had spelled out the reasons.. mainly that Coral KAVI can dry out non-oily skin types and that little whiteheads are a symptom of dried out skin. They also say that if you're coming off some other medication, you need to give your skin a rest before moving to their products, and, DO NOT use other anti acne meds while using their products. Over-medicating is bad.. go figure. Well, I was breaking all the rules and needless to say, after waiting a week and then going down to once a day and moisturizing for now, the little whiteheads seem to be going away. Also: Coral is the strongest bar, they have milder ones.

Pros:
works really well! sulfur is the only thing that works for me and this one beats out all the rest out there! doesn't smell bad for a sulfur acne product, there are much worse smelling ones out there! works for the occasional pimple when used at night
Cons:
really expensive when you buy it from a kiosk...i don't buy the whole kit because it's way too harsh for my skin. however, it lasts a really long time (2 years for me) when used as a spot treatment or occasional mask. definitely worth it in the end!!
i definitely recommend this to anyone who is trying to find a product that actually dries up pimples fast and absorbs excess oil without drying out the skin. plus, if it doesn't work, you can always return it without any hassle.

Pros:
The Murad skin care product works excellent if you use it properly,
doesn’t dry out skin like most acne product, doesn’t leave scars, dries quickly.What’s there more to say best acne product I ever used.
Cons:
Price way over priced.
Packaging.... a little cheap produced.
Doesn’t smell the greatest
First of all I want to say I been suffering from acne for 6 years,(now clear) and I tried a lot of different methods to stay clear from acne, all I can say do your research people... A product will not make your skin completely free of acne you know that, no product out there can do that, but it will help control the bacteria on your skin. 'MURAD' does an amazing job best anti acne product I tried out there, Like I mentioned before this product will only HELP kill the bacteria on your skin. And that means it's like a fire distinguisher, but doesn't take care of the problem. The problem is inside you and you have to treat acne from INSIDE. All I can say is to clear up your acne you have to do the following:
1. Stop blaming acne products (fire distinguishers) that they don't work, you completely know that they are just there to help out not cure acne.
2. Get the best book written about acne and treat it like a bible: The Clear Skin Diet ¸ Alan C. Logan, ND, FRSH and Valor

Pros:
It actually does clear your skin if your CONSISTENT with it. YOU MUST put it on 2x a day everyday if you want it to work.
Cons:
It will irritate your skin the first couple times you use it but after that, your skin will get used to it and the irritation will seize. & it takes a lil time to put all 3 steps on, but if you di it youll get clear.
it works. the key is consistency.

and burns soo much expecially after getting eyebrows done

Pros:
You can have a refund :)
Cons:
It burned my face
It made my T-zone greasy!
The price for this isn't justified
My face is worse than before I started the product
The step 2 "gel-exfoliant" irritated my skin painfully!
Proactiv is way better.. it's not as irritating and it smells so much better than Murad.

Pros:
Makes your skin feeling soft.
Reduces Redness
Cons:
Small bottles
Purging period was/is horrible.
You must do it twice a day.
I would, but you have to be patient and take the time to use the product everyday. And if you have a purging period, be patient, it only lasts maybe up to 2-3 weeks.

Product used: Proactiv Solution (Refining Mask)
Pros:
-clears redness/ smoothes out complexion
-reduces APPEARANCE of pimples
Cons:
-doesn't help clear severe acne areas
-using toner after washing away this product will make your face unimaginably stinky
The rest of the Proactiv Solution was pretty ineffective in terms of clearing my acne but this product worked very well. The only thing I've noticed is that it doesn't clear away pimples that are starting to form, it only takes away the redness around the clogged pore. I haven't noticed any dry skin or irritation after using this product like some people have mentioned... but that may be due to the fact that I have really oily skin.
