  1. Im doing a 3 part acne program that I have found online from a person who has studied acne over the years. For the 3rd step for mild-moderate acne he reccommends a topical 5% benzoyl peroxide cream. For more severe acne he reccommends using Epiduo (Tactuo) which is a prescription topical cream that contains 0.1% Adapalene and 2.5% benzoyl peroxide. Unfortunately I have not seen a dermatologist in over a year and an appointment can take months to get. On hand I have benzoyl peroxide 5% and

    Personal Log!

Hi everyone! I'm making this log so I can keep a record of my quest for clear(er) skin. All replies, suggestions, etc. are highly encouraged. Let's hope my skin improves the way I hope it to! Current regimen: Date: August 28th, 2013 Cleanser: Hylunia's Facial Cleansing Lotion Prescribed topicals: Epiduo Prescribed oral medication: none Other medication: salicylic acid wipes 1%, BP 10% as needed (Epiduo already contains 2.5%, a concentration that's fine for continuous "maintenance" us
  3. I have been using Adapalene (aka Differin) .1 gel for about 2 and a half weeks and the initial breakout is terrible!! Pustules and a lot of cysts on my chin! How long does the initial breakout tend to last? And from personal experience, does anyone have any advice on how to lessen the initial breakout? Did you use any other products on your face such as benzoyl peroxide or anything? Thanks
  4. I felt that I needed to share my story as a year ago it was me searching acne.org looking for a possible cure, feeling my lowest self esteem I have ever felt, feeling like everyone can see my acne even though I wear make up and feeling like my boyfriend cannot fancy me looking like this. I was willing to give anything ago now as my usual benzoyl peroxide was not working anymore, I went to my doctor who prescribed me epiduo (0.1% adapalene/benzoyl peroxide 2.5%) and started me on the contraceptiv
  5. Hi, I am a 26 year old male and I recently visited the skin doctor to deal with my acne. I used to get acne (small nodules and sometimes the larger pustules that seem to get too huge and take ages to heal) but never in such a fashion the large pustules kept coming on and on - hence the visit to the doctor. I feel that my skin care regimen is pretty good as I don't even break out on my nose or forehead even though it tends to be oilier on these areas. The doctor gave me a 3-prong approach - do
  6. I was just given aczone 7.5 gel and differin 0.1 cream to use. I've been on differin 0.3 gel for a little over 2 months. How should I use the differin and aczone, should aczone be in the morning and differin at night, or both at night? Will downgrading from 0.3 gel to 0.1 cream give me another IB phase?
  7. I’ve been on Differin Adapalene 0.3% for 8 weeks and 4 days now. Here’s a rough timeline. Week 1: Face looks great, stoked! Weeks 2-4: IB period, broke out in pustules everywhere including my jawline, which I had never seen acne on before. Skin VERY dry. Weeks 5-6: Stopped seeing jaw acne for the most part, random recurring pustules on cheeks. Skin less dry Weeks 7-8.5 (present): Seeing a few tiny Whiteheads on jawline again (currently 2), still recurring pustules on my cheeks. Not much imp
  8. Hey is it okay to use Differin at night and Sudocrem in the morning? (with using Vaseline in between) And washing my face with manuka honey soap?
  9. Hey guys, I’m currently on Differin 0.3% and Minocycline 100mg twice daily. I’ve been on the Differin for 3 months and the mino for less than 2 weeks. The Differin was doing absolutely nothing but ruining my skin, and the mino has helped me out a lot. BUT, I’m still getting new pimples every day, and I’m not too fond of the Minocycline. I’m looking for people who have transitioned straight from retinoids and/or Minocycline into Accutane and if you had an initial breakout? My face is FILLED w
  10. I have been using Epiduo or TactuPump (Same thing, different names) since around December I think and it has helped a lot with my acne and I just have Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation left. Since around the middle of February I have had eye bags under my eyes, I think the cause of it was my sleeping late for a week or so, but after that I started sleeping 8-9 hours a night and the eye bags didn't budge. They're a little smaller now, but they are still here. I am worried because I never have h

    2 months on differin

2 months on my regimen! My skin felt smoother and improved 50 %! My mom even commented on my progress. Though to be honest i still feel insecure, mainly due to hyperpigmentation. Most prominent after face washing, but 1 hour later my face looks dewy and almost close to being clear (i dunno if optical illusion or something). And i still do get 2 or 4 small pimples a week, which resolves within 2 to 3 days with bp (spot treatment) and differin (whole face) ONLY at night. Well thats expected from w
  12. Skin Condition The acne marks on my cheeks have gone back on track to improvement The discoloration on my lip is also looking improved this morning My chin looking better too. It used to be quite bumpy but this morning it looks really smooth and the any bumps have condensed to 4 tiny whiteheads The most irritation and acne is at the corners of my mouth I have some painful areas on my cheeks and around my mouth. I have lots of tiny hard pimp

  14. Please answer the week 3 poll! WEEK 2 RECAP By day 15, the breakout i got a few days before was beginning to show sign of improvement, but not fast enough. On day 16, my birthday, my skin improved greatly. Still very red but no big active pimples anymore. On Day 17-18 i saw further improvement and i concluded that the breakout was over. I think/hope that was my initial breakout. By day 19-20 i noticed my skin getting a little dry again. There was on scaley
  15. Skin Condition Today my skin looks exceptionally better. Arguably the best its looked in the past month. My cheeks of course have acne marks but they dont look too red today. 16. Day 29 When I woke up my skin looked better than the night before (I had a major whitehead breakout on my chin on day 28) I still had a few whiteheads on my chin but resisted popping My skin was super dry and flaky this day. Not sure why. I applied a little extra moisturizer today. Day 30 Ill take a photo of my skin tomorrow morning and eventually post to show my before and after (1 month progress) My skin is showing steady improvement everywhere except my chin. id

    Start of week 5

It's the very beginning of week five and holy crap, my skin is so clear! There are still a few tiny scabs and red dots where some blemishes are still healing but I don't have any active pimples. My skin tone is very even as well, and I've noticed that I have almost zero clogged pores! That's such a miracle to me because in the past even when my skin was perfectly clear, I always had clogged pores in my problem areas. This is such a relief to me because now when my skin clears up it won't breakou
  18. I purchased differin over-the-counter and started it 09/06/17, using it sparingly every other day since. So that's 3 uses by far. My skin is extra sensitive so to avoid adverse side effects, I decided to moisturize prior to applying differing and yet my skin is so so sensitive. Although I was fully aware of the side effects prior to my usage, I'm not sure how to know when a side effect is serious enough to stop the treatment. Prior to differin, I had completed accutane treatment and it's been
  19. I've been using differin cream for about 17 weeks and I don't have an improvement. In fact I think it's made it worse. My skin always has at least 6 cysts on my right cheek and 1 or 2 on my left cheek. I get blackheads on my chin too. Also when I put on makeup to cover all the scars you'd think that all that would be shown on my cheeks then would just be the cysts and smoothness. That is not the case. Around the cysts and all along my cheeks are a bunch of tiny little bumps and uneven surface. M
  20. Hi everyone, this is my second month on differin and I'm having a couple of cystic acne which doesn't come to a head, multiple pus-filled acne (which fortunately comes to a head) and lots of dark acne scars (a few which are still red and many others which are dark and grey). I get that there are initial breakouts with differin, but am I supposed to get cystic acne from this? Some of my cystic acne doesn't go away completely and stay as a bump on my face. Worse of all, there are the multiple dark

    Differin Cream 0.1% Logs

Hi, I have been using Adapalene (differin) cream, and have just joined Acne.org. I am starting late unfortunately, because I am starting day 15 today. As of now I have seen little to no improvement, but I have not experienced it making my skin any worse. My acne is mild-moderate, mostly blackheads and whiteheads, with about 3 inflammatory lesions (not too large, but decently sized.) In the past, I first tried Clearasil salicylic acid, with no improvement at all. I then tried Clearasil benzoyl pe
  22. Hi everyone, I’m looking at getting advice on how to finally clear my acne that I’ve had from age 16 to now 19. Here’s my backstory. (Male from the UK). I had cystic moderate acne on my face for about a month aged 16 before I finally went to the doctors. I was prescribed lymecycline capsules (antibiotic) and benzoyl peroxide cream. It worked and did clear the cystic acne to some extent. About a year in I swapped benzoyl peroxide for adapalene because the BP was too drying on my skin. At 18 I
