Uncertain

Pros:

Not sure at this point

Cons:

-may cause hair loss
-may cause more acne

I was taking this while changing too many other things around; hard to tell whether certain effects were due to the zinc or not.

Pros:

Some people say it works

Cons:

You might experience side effects such as headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and death.

The maximum tolerable daily intake for adults is 40mg--recommended intake is around 8-11mg.

Health Risks from Excessive Zinc: Zinc toxicity can occur in both acute and chronic forms. Acute adverse effects of high zinc intake include nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, abdominal cramps, diarrhea, and headaches [2]. One case report cited severe nausea and vomiting within 30 minutes of ingesting 4 g of zinc gluconate (570 mg elemental zinc) [78]. Intakes of 150'450 mg of zinc per day have been associated with such chronic effects as low copper status, altered iron function, reduced immune function, and reduced levels of high-density lipoproteins [79]. Reductions in a copper-containing enzyme, a marker of copper status, have been reported with even moderately high zinc intakes of approximately 60 mg/day for up to 10 weeks [2]. The doses of zinc used in the AREDS study (80 mg per day of zinc in the form of zinc oxide for 6.3 years, on average) have been associated with a significant increase in hospitalizations for genitourinary causes...etc...

Pros:

I notice a differance in my acne each day I take it, its really worth going out and getting. :D

Cons:

I had some inccidents when i forgot to eat and I threw up hardcore. Nobody likes to throw up, so please a eat a full meal.. trust me.

It works very well, I reccomend it to anyone who is struggling with acne that is just an unbalance of hormones, like mine is. (: I take 50MG twice a day, breakfast and dinner. So thats 100MG a day, and it works. I wouldn't take anymore than that though.

Pros:

I haven't had any luck with this at all. I've read so many good things about zinc but after a month of taking 50mg twice daily I've had no change in my acne.

Cons:

Losing hair

It hasn't worked for me, I guess I thought it would be some kinda miracle pill the way people have described it.

Pros:

Inexpensive.

Cons:

Didn't do anything.

Took 2x50mg daily for 2 months, noticed no difference. I doubt I was deficient to begin with but I thought I would give it a go anyway. Only made me feel nauseous if I left the pill on my tounge for a little while before swallowing and this feeling would only last a few seconds anyway.

Pros:

IT DOES HELP WITH ACNE

Cons:

IT MAKES ME EXTREMELY NAUSEOUS EVERY TIME I USE IT. I HAVE TAKEN IT ON A FULL STOMACH AFTER DINNER AND I FEEL AS IF I AM GOING TO THROW UP. IT DID WORK FOR ME BUT I AM NOT GOING TO USE IT BECAUSE IT MAKES ME FEEL VERY SICK.

ITS GOOD, BUT NOT FOR ME.
