Pros:

I don't know... it's good for you? I guess it reduces inflammation

Cons:

It doesn't really make a difference for me...

I started taking 50mg religiously for a few weeks.... i took it with vitamin d, and omega 3... It didn't make much of a difference for me, I guess when i stopped i got one cyst, but i think it might be from some other factors cause i was changing up my routine during that time... I'm starting it again just for the hell of it, but i dan is right most of the effect is probably placebo... I guess it works better for other people

Pros:

CHEAP

Cons:

Didnt take away pimples/cysts. If you leave it on as a mask overnight you will you see chalk dust from the zinc all over your clothes and pillow. You have to be careful when eaten.

It didnt work. I wanted it to work so bad after seeing all the rave reviews. I had severe acne so I used it for 2 months and 3 weeks, and seen no results. I ended up going to a dermatologist because I was so devastated that this didnt work for me and i had millions of pimples/cysts all over my face!!! The dermatologist helped ALOT... I have no pimples or cysts now masha'Allah, (I use a combination of retin A at night and clindoxyl gel in the day).... but the search still continues for something over the counter, cheaper and natural....

Pros:

None that I noticed.

Cons:

Didn't notice any improvement while taking it.

Long term dosage of 50mg per day can cause excessive hair loss. (2 months in my case!)

I started taking this in Gluconate form but never saw any benefit from it. I was also supplementing on Green Tea (2 cups per day) which I found out was actually making my skin WORSE. After stopping Green Tea I continued taking Zinc but I still had no improvement and suspected all of these supplements were making things worse. Also, 50mg can still be considered a high dose and after at least 2 months of high doses of Zinc you may experience rapid hair loss! I had to stop taking this and actually found my skin improved. I'm not clear right now but Zinc is useless for me. I believe my acne is pretty much fructose induced.

Pros:

None

Cons:

Made me ill.

No affect on my skin. Took 50 mgs/day and felt ill after almost every dose. Yes, I took it with food. DO NOT take it if you are only having a snack, youneed to eat a FULL MEAL with it or you will feel nasty unless your stomach is made of iron.

Pros:

it doesn't have any side affects that i have noticed

Cons:

i haven't notice any difference in taking it

i guess i feel neutral about this product, since it seems to have nothing good or bad. i still take it though, since i still have some left. i guess its worth a try like anything else.

I've been taking zinc as a supplement for about two weeks. I take 3 50mg pills in the morning, and 3 50mg pills after dinner. So far I have not seen ANY improvements for my skin. I am still getting frequent breakouts. I'm also taking B-complex supplements along with the zinc one. Should I increase my dosage for zinc to more than 300mg per day? or should I decrease my intakes? how long does it take usually to see some results? I am so frsutrated after reading everyone's comments and that it seems to work for most of the people. Am I just being impatient or is it REALLY not working for me?
