Pros:

Helped scars
Considering returning to internal consumption at a much higher dose, to measure it's benefits.

Cons:

Internally did very little the first time round (I took 1600iu a day for around 3 1/2 months)

I'm reviewing this because I'm reading the same thing over and over and I think it's quite baffling. For some people, yes, popping the capsules and putting it's content on your face will be fine, but more likely the majority of you are going to break out. Why? Not because vitamin E oil is comdogenic (it isn't), but because the majority of these capsules will contain other ingredients to aid digestion etc. It is very widely available to buy pure Vitamin E oil, and yes even that may break some people out but that's the stuff you should actually be putting on your face. And it's also very likely it won't break you out. Test your boundaries and reactions, put it on for 10 minutes, see how it goes and then give or take from there. That's what I did, and I ended up being fine sleeping in the stuff, and it massively improved my hyper pigmentation. The reviews on this site have been greatly helpful to me, but it's far more important to do actual research. You will never be able to decipher an individuals whole experience from their review, there will always be influences that you won't know about. Your always going to be taking a risk. Clean your face and hands properly, and apply the oil (H&B do one at 70,000IU for aprox £10). Steaming your face before hand will help it absorb. It will NOT clog your poors, but you MAY have an adverse reaction. They are not the same thing. Wipe it off after 10 minutes, and you will be able to measure if you will react badly in a controllable way. Trust me, this stuff is essential for skin repair, if you don't react badly it will be incredibly good for your scars. Best of luck. X

Nyc review! ;)
March 4, 2016
I experimented lol
I have sensitive skin. No doubt about it. I'm a 19 year old college student and have been fighting acne since freshman year in high school. Junior year of h.s. was the absolute worst with acne so I was on Acutane and after off, was clear for about 4 months then acne again. I used insanely harsh chemicals to fight my acne, I was willing to throw battery acid at my face if I knew it would clear it up; but nothing was doing it. Going into college, I went chemical-free. Here is the process of my experiment: ---------------Applying it directly to face--------------- I read that you can break the capsule and apply it to your face, so I said why not. I have sensitive skin so I was skeptical. I only applied it to half of my face, first only about 15 minutes then washing it off. This didn't cause me to break out so I was happy. Next (still on only half of my face) I applied it to all of my pimples on that side of my face and slept with it on. Did this for about a week, and made that side of my face more smooth, but much worse acne. --------------Just taking the pill--------------------- So I had a big bottle of this so I just decided to start taking the pill twice a day after meals like it suggests on the bottle. I did this with a zinc pill at night. AND I HAVE NEVER BEEN MORE SATISFIED WITH RESULTS!! 95% of my acne isn't there anymore and most scars now disappearing, I must say that I used 100% natural and not the chemical-made kind. (also, during this process I bought a pillow case for sensitive skin)

Which brand did you use to take for vitamin e supplements ?
June 9, 2016
how long were you taking the vitamin e pills and zinc before you saw results?
September 9, 2010

Pros:

-reduces redness
-clears up pimples
-even clears up blackheads!!
-reduces pore size

Cons:

-causes little bumps all over, but these are temporary
-takes a little longer to work than other supplements

This stuff is amazing! I was going through a really bad bout of acne before I started vitamin e capsules. I had been taking fish oil which was working well, it keep my break outs small. But my skin redness was really bad. I have a very uneven skin tone. At the time I was also using the topical gel Ziana, which was drying my skin out. But I was also using Eucerin lotion which had oil in it (didnt know that until my doc pointed it out), so my skin was very confused! So I stopped the Ziana and Eucerin and started the vitamin e capsules. My doc also prescribed me Clindamycin T gel, but I now only use that for spot treatment because its an antibiotic. When I started the vitamin e it gave me these little non-acne bumps all over. But they've gone away for the most part and are still going away. My skin is now completely clear, not a pimple in sight. Most of my red marks have faded, and all the blackheads on my chin are gone. The ones on my nose are still in the process of going away. Try it!!!

Pros:

Obtainable, cheap, natural

Cons:

oily

vitamin E is good when taken orally and applied topicaly... it is great as a moisturizer after washing your face...as it leaves i feeling soft and hydrated. Choosing the type of vitamin E is crucial as the better qualities will provide less reactions if you would have a sensitivity.

Pros:

-my skin never looked this brighter
-has faded my red marks in just 2 days
-helps a lot with dry skin or oily skin that goes dry when you put on acne medications

Cons:

does make you itchy when you apply it on your face but that subsides after it has fully absorbed

i had a bout of acne in january due to exam nerves and my salon recommended me getting a facial which broke me out in 5 days worse than before. i battled with different medications for a week or so and that seemed to cure the acne. this experience left my skin filled with acne scars and red bumps. thats when i started to look for any good acne marks cream and i came across fair and lovely. however that too broke me out in a few days. i looked at the ingredients and found them to be aloe vera and vitamin e and vitamin B3. That gave me a bright idea of why not use aloe from my garden and vitamin e capsule that are cheaply available from the local pharmacy and voila developed my own concoction.(couldnt find vitamin B3) what i do is break the vitamin e capsule over the aloe leaf and take that gel and rub it all over my marks and any problem areas at night and wash it off with a good cleanser in the morning. after using two days i have noticed brighter complexion and fading of the red marks. and no new acne has formed. by the way i have oily skin but the aloe gel and vitamin seem to be doing the trick perfectly well together. ill keep this on for a week and post the forum with any updates

Pros:

Lightens red acne marks, hydrates skin =)

Cons:

Oily, greasy looking on skin.

This review is for the oil, not the pill. A long time ago, about 9 months ago, I had horrible red acne marks that covered my entire face. So I began using Vitamin E oil from rite aid I bought, and began applying to my skin at night. Eventually, as the days worn on, I found my skin looked brighter and the marks less noticeable. Today, I started breaking out due to exams in college, and began getting red marks again. Grr. So I am applying the oil only on the red areas at night. Hopefully, I will have a postitive outcome like I did months ago. I recommend it. Oh, and I have very sensitive skin, very prone to acne. It did not cause me to break out =)

Pros:

Helps fade red acne marks, makes skin smooth and brighter

Cons:

greasy feeling if added to much

This is a review for vitamin e oil, not the pills. I have moderate acne, which often results in red marks/skin left behind. I started taking vitamin A pills about 3 months ago and it has helped a lot, also with the help of murad face wash and a toner.I have tried everything to get rid of the red marks: baking soda, bleaching kid, etc. Nothing worked, I've heard lots of reviews for vitamin e, so I read up the reviews on this website and decided to give it a try. I went to the drugstore and couldn't find the pills so I bought the oil instead. It contains grape seed extract oil and vitamin e. I used it for the first time last night. I was really worried about it breaking me out, but I thought again how bad I wanted to get rid of the red skin and marks. I only use it at night. I put two drops of oil in my left palm and added water in my right palm. Then I gently massaged the oil only on the problem areas mainly my forehead, chin and the sids of my nose. The next morning I woke up and the marks looked less noticable and my skin felt smooth. I was very happy. Later on during the day and pimple formed on my forehead near my brow. So I hope it won't break me out, but I'm going to give it a try. I want the red skin gone!!

Pros:

It does work.
Leaves the skin smooth and soft.
Doesn't leave skin oily after using it.
Cheap.
Been using it for a month, and now have started to see results

Cons:

Hard to rub in, or for it to be absorbed into skin (so use it at night)
A little viscous ans sticky
You do have to wait a little for results to show

One thing i would like to recommend is that when using Vitamin E oil, make sure you exfoliate before you actually apply it to your skin, it helps absorbtion, as well as taking off the top layer of skin, speeding up the fading of the scar. I have been using it for a month now and what I do is prik vitamin E capsules with a pin and squees the oil out ant topically apply it to the skin and rub it in. Do this at night as getting it to absorb is tough. Then once apllied, i orally take what is left of the vitamin E capsule. Double the effectivness. You do have to be patient. Seeing results does take its time, but it sure does work. I do recommend exfoliating before applying as it really does speed up the process!

Pros:

Took away acne on my forehead.
Helped with my dry skin.
Small capsules, easy to swallow

Cons:

Non that I can think of. :)

I've been taking 250mg of Vit. E everyday for a few months now, and I've realised that ALL the acne on my forehead has basically disappeared! I still have some light acne on my cheeks, but i am very happy with the results! I also have eczema, and it's helped my skin feel less dry.

Pros:

Helped even out my skin tone
Diminished appearance of scars
Dried up a few pimples

Cons:

None so far!

I just started using vitamin E capsules (internally) as well as vitamin A. It has only been a few days now, but I am definitely seeing results. I take one vitamin E capsule a day (it's pretty large.. I do not know the exact size) and two small vitamin A capsules. I also use olive oil or vitamin E oil topically on my face. I apply it pretty generously, let it sit for about 20 minutes and then wash it off with a mild cleanser. So far all of this is helping. I tried this as a last resort before going on medication for my acne.
