Seeking Advice

Okay sooo I've been using the regimen for 2 years now and I will say that it definitely cleared up my skin for the most part (Male, 21, oily) after using so many different washes, antibiotics, etc... However, after about a year and a half in, my acne has come back (not as severe) even though I have stuck to this regimen night and day every single day. Over time I found what worked best for me was:

-Acne.org cleanser or Cetaphil gentle cleanser

-Acne.org B.P Treatment

-Cera Ve Moisturizing Cream

-CLEAN DIET aka no dairy

So what I'm trying now is adding Jojoba Oil with the moisturizer (always was hesitant bc my skin is VERY oily) and so far haven't seen results. I've only been doing this for a month so definitely not enough time to tell. But if there are any men out there with oily skin that by some chance have had a similar situation please let me know if there is anything you switched up with the routine or if there is something you found that works for your oily skin. Thanks :)

Esperando resultados

peeling

I bought this product back in september, because I was having hormonal acne and nothing was working not even changing my diet. This product truly has stopped any type of acne that I have had before. I didn't even really go through a purge phase. The only downfall is the fact that my skin was sooooo flaky. That lasted for a long time too, like about 4 or 5 months. Nonetheless though I remained clear always. My problem now is that I am going through flakyness once again. It had stopped and now it resumed and it's frustrating because I don't know why it re occured if I've stuck to the product. I use Aveeno as a moisturizer, because it helps a lot more than cerave or other creams. Another problem is since my skin is flaky whenever i try to put foundation it looks ugly, because it looks blotchy or it emphasizes the flakyness. I love that it cleared my acne, but I'm so over the flakyness. Does anyone have any recommendations?

oil cleanse at night and a muslin face cloth when cleansing face

If it's not broken...don't fix it.

The acne.org Benzoyl Peroxide 2.5 % has saved my skin!! I was using acne.org from November 2017 until January 2019. Why did I stop you may ask?...My skin was clear and flourishing but Instagram and popular skincare caught my eye. I switched to another skincare routine and it seemed to be going well (BIG MISTAKE!!!) until my acne started to creep back in on my jaw line, then on my cheeks. I used this different routine for 3 months and now I regret every moment of it..so...I went back to acne.org because I KNOW it works! The purge from using the acne.org Benzoyl Peroxide made my skin purge...It was horrific! However, I knew it was just doing it's job to unclog my pores from the previous skincare I was "trying out". 2 months later and my face is smooth again, I still have scars from my skin purging but the acne.org Benzoyl Peroxide is definitely getting me back to normal! Note to self and others out there...don't even change what is working in your favor!!

And yes, even though you may have been on the regimen before...starting over after a period of time means that you have to let your skin get used to it again....I know from experience. The purge was probably worse for me because I tried using too much when I went back on it in July. It takes time...start slow and YOU WILL see results.

Very good product. Have used it few times

November 11, 2019

im having the exact same experience!  Im about a month in to using the benzoyl peroxide again every other night and still breaking out--- how long did it take to get under control again?

November 13, 2019

So I've been very careful with it after using too much of it in the beginning, so I reduced again and started very slow.

Week 1: Pea size amount at night only.

Week 2: Pea size amount in the morning and at night.

Week 3: Pea size in the morning, double the pea size at night.

Week 4: Repeat week 3.

Week 5: Two pea sizes in the morning, 2 at night.

Keep increasing from there - but listen to what your skin is telling you. If you start to get irritated one week, don't increase until your skin is used to it.

I would say it's taken about 3 - 4 months. My cheeks and forehead are super smooth but my temples didn't get the initial purge memo so they are doing that now. Some areas of your face might need time for the benzoyl peroxide to really draw out what it under the skin. It is helping that I use an ice cube to ice my face right before applying the benzoyl peroxide because I saw it helps to penetrate products deeper and gives a little exfoliation.

Be patient with it! You got this! Let me know how it goes!

Hey quick question! What moisturizer are you using? I’m having a hard time finding one that’s not breaking me out. Thanks!

Too much too soon

This is my first time using the acne.org products. I have suffered from adult acne and cystic acne with a lot of hyperpigmentation.  I have spent hundreds of dollars looking for the right skin products and countless of hours at the dermatologist and nothing seemed to work for me.  I have watched how these products transformed my daughter's skin and it gave me skin envy.

Now when i ordered the products i had every intention to follow the instructions and wait for my turn for skin envy.  Anyway I started using too much of the benzoyl peroxide too early in my regimen an my skin was not happy, not happy at all.  It became very dry, flaky, and lots and lots of peeling.  I looked a mess! but i reduced my usage for a few days to weeks and added 6-8 drops of jojoba oil to the moisturizer every morning and evening which left me a lil greasy during the day but it was all worth it.  Now my skin is under control and I can really see the difference, fewer pimples and when one does show up it doesn't last long. I still have a ways to go but I'm will on my way and after using this product for a month I'm starting to see and feel the difference over all.

My advise follow the instructions to the tee don't rush the process or it will take even longer.

improvement noticed

i started using this product 3 weeks ago. just the treatment and i have seen sinificant changes though my acne keeps coming back. especially around my chin and jaw line. at least the pimples dry faster which is a good thing but i dnt know why i keep getting newer breakouts. the skin around my eyes can not stand the benzoyl. it makes it look ages older and all wrinkly. so when i apply the benzoyl, i try as much as possible to avoid areas around my eyes and neck. otherwise, am still hopeful it will work for me too and completely eliminate the jaw line acne too.

Need patience
Great product, but definitely need to be patient to see the result. I've used the entire regiment 2 years ago when I first started breaking out, it worked like a miracle, my skin didn't react badly to it at all, this was exactly what my skin needed. I got off the regimen after nearly a year bc my skin was cleared and I was trying to find other alternatives since this product is only sold in US and shipping was too expensive. But I started having little breakouts again but nowhere near what it was before. Until recently, my skin started breaking out again. WORST THAN EVER!! I went on the pill but it wasn't helping, so I decided to go back to what saved my face 2 years ago, the acne.org regimen. But unlike last time, I had a really rough start this time. My skin was reacting badly to the benzoyl peroxide. My left cheek area which is right under my eye started getting red, irritated and incredibly itchy. It started to have a texture, felt like all my cells were dried up. Even though I was draining my face in moisturizer and serums nothing seemed to be helping the dry rash looking patches I had on my face. It was painful and ugly. But I decided to push through. Now I'm on my 4th week of the regimen. My skin is clearing up and the dry patches I had are slowing disappearing. If you are going through the same problem. Here are some tips. 1. Avoid putting too much benzoyl peroxide on irritated areas because that area probably needs longer time and slower rate to adjust to the benzoyl peroxide. 2. DO NOT SCRATCH, I know it can be really itchy and irritable but trust me, scratching is only going to make it more irritated and might leave you with scars. 3. I used Bio-Oil to help my skin to get back that even texture and it also helps a lot with red acne marks, it was too oily for me before I went on the regimen and it would break me out, but now it works amazing on my skin. 4. I never really liked the acne.org moisturizer, it wasn't moisturizing enough and it was too harsh for my skin, I would get burning sensation when I use this after applying benzoyl peroxide, I found the best moisturizer while on Benzoyl Peroxide and that is Full Of Grace Serum Bar from Lush. It is the best thing!! It is so moisturizing without irritating your skin and leaving your skin glowing and hydrated. Good Luck on your acne journey, you are NOT alone.

Mostly Great
Keeps my hormonal acne at bay for the most part. I get bad breakouts a few times a year. Probably because the season changes or something. But it's the only thing strong enough to mostly keep it at bay.

Clears skin but makes skin red

Been on the regimen for 5 months ish. Using own moisturizer and cleanser. This regimen DOES clear your skin especially if you do it twice a day. However, your skin will get red and dry, which is a big negative side effect in my opinion. So I guess there is a tradeoff between clear skin and reddish skin. 4/5

EDIT!

1 year later - I've been doing the regimen twice a day for 1 year and 5 months now. The regimen keeps the skin 90% clear, however i still get red and irritated skin after applying BP. So I have 90% clear skin but my skin is red while the rest of my body is white...
