Pros:

clear up the spots
make skin look smoother
inexpensive

Cons:

dries out the skin
new spots are still appearing

I am using PanOxyl 10% Acnegel which had helped me (it still does) a lot! I got really severe acne when I moved to Thailand and after reading a review on benzoyl peroxide I decided to give it a try! At first my skin was red, then it got dry and flaky (originally I have oily skin) and finally I realized that it works! Usually I apply it to my face once a day, covering the spotted areas. I tend to get more breakouts before my period, if so I use it twice a day. Yes, it makes my skin oily and dry at the same time (because of the hot and humid weather) but I try to balance it by using moisturising facial wash (Cetaphyl or Smooth-E). It doesn't stop me from breaking out though, so I'm planning to try accutane in nearer future but I'm not going to stop taking PanOxyl by any means!

Pros:

Clears Blackheads wonderfully!

Cons:

NOT for sensitive skin- it will burn and sting

To be fair, I have rosacea and my skin is sensitive, the product did work but I just cannot tolerate the itch & burn anymore. Even after over a month of use and in small quantities it burns so baddd!!! For people with "normal" skin, it's probably a great product- but if you have rosacea/sensitive skin-stay away it's way too strong. (still giving it a 4 because I think the extreme reaction is not "typical")

Pros:

- It definitely works if you use it as instructed
- Huge tube
- Nice consistency (disappears easily)
- No smell

Cons:

- Very drying (even for oily skin)
- Not very portable tube
- Bleaches clothes (if you're not careful)
- Aging

I'm of south asian origin, and have had very oily skin, bad scarring and acne on and off for years. A few months ago, I had the worst break out of my life, with big red lumps appearing on my cheeks and jawline daily. I tried countless expensive products to get rid of them, but I just kept getting more and more lumps every day. After reading the reviews on this site, I decided to order Dan's BP, but was not impressed at first. I was expecting overnight results and instead all I got was extremely flaky skin which I have never sufferered from before. I did the regimen as instructed for a few weeks and there were a lot of changes - some good, some bad. My skin felt really tight and dry and it was difficult to cover up the flakes with make up. I was still getting new spots, but they seemed to go down a lot quicker. I now think my skin was just clearing out all the gunk that was stored in the pores. After using BP at first, my pores would feel bumpy, and if I scraped them lightly with my fingernails, blackheads would come out easily as if they were on the verge of 'falling' out (disgusting I know - but also very satisfying!) I stuck with it and although I still get spots occasionally on my forehead and jawline, it is nowhere near as bad as it was before. My pores look and feel really clean and my skin overall feels soft to the touch. I currently have only one big spot and a few small pimples on my forehead (and scarring unfortunately), compared to a face covered in big red lumps a few months ago. I'm not using BP every day anymore as I'm worried about the aging effects, so use DHC Salicylic face milk on alternate days or when I'm away from home. I'm very happy with Dan's BP though so will continue to use it even when my spots clear up completely as I know they could return again at any time.

Pros:

1. Benzoyl Peroxide really does work to clear up acne.
2. The product prevents future outbreaks.
3. The lower concentration is less irritating to skin

Cons:

4. I prefer a thicker consistency

Benzoyl Peroxide works to clear up acne for me much better than the alternatives and it keeps breakouts away. This is sold at a great price and can last quite a while. I would definitely recommend it to others and will continue to use in the future.

Pros:

Bang for your buck. One 8 oz tube can easily last 2+ months, mine usually lasts 10 weeks.
Non-irritating (in the long run)
Affordable
User-friendly packaging and instruction
Simple
Effective
Goes on smooth, works under makeup

Cons:

None compared to the pros

It works. It's simple, effective, affordable. This gel based formula has been the only product I've used which has not been messy, extremely irritating, or lumpy under makeup. My skin adjusted to the formula within a month. It goes on clear and is easy, one application in the morning, one at night. Clear(ing) skin. At 10 weeks I have not had any new blemishes, and I am clearing nicely. Old red marks are fading as well. Try this product. It's a must.

Pros:

-it actually is clearing up my skin
-dries clear
-huge tube when bought from the website

Cons:

-very dry skin after a week of usage
-slightly flaky skin
-makes my skin look weird, like wrinkly or leathery

I had the WORST acne of my life after using tretinoin for about a month. I couldn't take it anymore, so I decided to try out Dan's Regimen again. I had tried the Regimen before, but I didn't adhere to it... I also never bought any of the products from the website. So I figured I'd give the Regimen a shot again after my horrible experience with Tretinoin ( I bought the 3 things from the website). Well, it's been about 1.5 weeks, and I am so happy! Although my skin is dry and flaky, it's SO MUCH BETTER than having a million pimples all over my face. Seriously, I'll go for dry skin over acne any day. I 100% recommend you to try the regimen with 2.5% BP. Don't be like me when I first tried it out - didn't stick to the rules like Dan says. FOLLOW THE RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!! I could see a difference after only a couple days. My pimples were getting smaller. I still did have new pimples come out, but they weren't that bad. My skin seems to be wrinkly around my mouth. It was never like that before. I assume it's because of the BP. I'm going to see what I can do about that without irritating my skin.

Pros:

-Reduces oiliness of skin.
-Reduces break-outs
- Decreases inflammation

Cons:

- May cause dryness and itching of skin

I've been persrcibed BP for a few years now, and it has worked well on me. Of course, you have to use other products such as cleansers or whatever your dermatologist recommends. Since I live in a climate where seasons change and are signigicantly different (harsh winters, hot and humid summers) I have to switch up the dosages. (winter I use BP 2.5%, summers I use 10%) So basically....this product works well when used properly.

Pros:

-Works well for those little bumps that don't really look like zits.

-It didn't totally clear my blackheads, but they are much less noticeable. I think a pore strip might clear them right up.

Cons:

-Using it twice a day and REALLY dry out your skin, even though you are using the moisturizer as well. However, I don't have expecially oily skin.

-Bleached my pillow and towels. I haven't noticed it on my clothes so much, but I don't use it on my back every day. I think it would definitely bleach your clothes if you did that.

Great product. I had bad acne as a teenager and it has gotten better, but I've struggled to clear it completely since then (I'm now 28). This is the first product I've found that has cleared it for me without over drying. As I said before, I had to cut back on the treatment because it was over drying my skin, but since I've done that it is working great. One negative, I recently noticed that it is bleaching any fabric that it comes into contact with on a regular basis. If you are someone that has struggled with this for a long time, you probably agree that this is a reasonable price to pay for something that works. I just use the same pillowcase and towel all of the time and wash them as needed.

Pros:

Gel not a cream.
2.5% so you can use more upfront
actually seems to work!!

Cons:

Face redness
Light flakiness

Ok so listen up, I've been on the regiment for a little over two weeks. Maybe its to early to write a review, but I have seen significant improvements in my skin. Acne seems to be fading and fading fast, new breakouts nope... Skin tone has dramatically improved. At first I just thought "well maybe because my skin is red from the treatment, thats why it looks better." No, not the case. This week the redness has been reducing as my skin begins to normalize with the treatment. Im seeing more and more improvements as the weeks fly by. I suffer from 'cystic acne' I had a 'big boy' on my face (which was there for more than a week) before I started the regiment; a little over two weeks and its basically healed... Anyone who suffers from cystic acne knows that these 'big boys' can take weeks, sometimes even months to even start to reduce in size, let alone heal. I still have the dreaded red patch were he lived on my face, but that is fading rapidly, and with the AHA, that red patch is on the outs. At this point only time will tell whether or not this will actually work out for me, but its looking pretty good at this point, so im crossing my fingers. I intend to return to acne.org to update my review at about the eight week mark. Whether that be good, bad or indifferent. However this morning I woke up; went to wash my face, and I knew I needed to get here ASAP... Drink plenty of water, exercise, and eat right.

Pros:

-Moderates Severe Acne
-Reduces Whiteheads
-Easy to Use
-Flatens Cysts
-Affordable
-Great Acne Product

Cons:

-Irritates Skin
-Does nothing for rooted blackheads
-Leaves Skin Susceptible to the Elements
-Very hard to stop using

I've used this product for well over a year and am overall impressed. Good price, good product. However it does damage the skin significantly.Skin builds up a reliance and in the event you decide to change your regime to something more natural, you'll be hit with a whirlwind. I am still using this product however 3 months ago I had decided to ween myself off this product into a much more natural regimen. I got down to one application every other day. Doing this for over a month I decided to finally eliminate that application. Big Mistake. The breakouts that followed were 10 fold worse than any I had experienced in my life. I've switched products in the past as I'm now longer a young man and understand the adaption period your skin requires. However that calm after the storm never came. For over a month I persisted to no avail. In the end my confidence and personal life was suffering too severely which prompted me to start using BP, again. Transition back into form was not easy either as I took me the better part of two months to get to a level close to where I was before. However in the end I recommend this product because it did improve my situation. But do your research first and look into natural alternatives.
