Pros:

it definitly woks well

Cons:

some say a red spot appears but i didnt have that problem, if you use the right kind maybe its diffrent, i used rembrant

it will get you results fast and you dont need to go through the embarassment or the long period of time the dermatologist takes to get things straightned out, and chances are you have some at home right now so the availability is perfect.

Pros:

reduced pain and inflamation

Cons:

the brand I used burned for a little while

This worked quickly for me, despite the sting for a bit, after ten minutes it had already reduced much of the swelling and the pain. I don't believe I will have to leave it on all night.

Pros:

burning takes pain away
dries it out

Cons:

"scab" appears before healing
actual healing time is longer

Using toothpaste really dries out the spot and a scab will appear before healing. I tried this numerous times over the past year or two. A healthy diet and lots of water is the best way to deal with acne (for me anyway---I believe I may be allergic to some sugars or in excess...)

Pros:

It works. Dries up the pimple.

Cons:

Slightly burns, if left on too long, it will leave a red mark that isnt appealing, but I guess its better than a big zit. Its probably not the best choice in acne care, its been advised against by many derms.

It works, but if you have sensitive skin, find something else! Do NOT use toothpaste.

Pros:

reduces swelling

Cons:

does not heal the acne

I use toothpaste on cystic acne. Here's my most recent experience using it: I woke up with a painful bump and I thought for sure it would pop. It didn't and all my probing led to swelling. I walked around all day with huge bump on my chin that HURT. That night I put a dab of toothpaste (not the gel kind) on the bump and woke up to ZERO swelling. I want to make this clear - the spot was still red and I do not think the pimple vanished. I think the toothpaste just reduces the inflammation. It's definitly worth a shot.

Pros:

I used it over my acne for about 10-30 min., then spotted with a towel then let sit overnight. When I woke up, it was still all there but definetely smaller and worked okay.

Cons:

Does tingle a little, but that means it's working. It's not the cure for acne people, you have to use Clean and Clear as well

I'm sitting with it on right now after my shower and then I'll wash it off after an hour.

Pros:

-Really does minimize size of zit, and is pretty much gone by morning
-Smells nice!

Cons:

-Left a patch of where the toothpaste was ):

This really does work to reduce size, but... You definitely should not leave it on over night like I did. It leaves a mark, which is a real shame, because I don't know if you would get the same "drying out the pimple" effect if you just left it on and then washed it after 10, 20 minutes. So excellent smell, and effectiveness. Just don't leave it on over night.

Tingles, but I kind of like it

This is my first time trying this method and it seems to be working. I'll have to wait for to see if the results are as promising as Im hoping, but we'll just see.
