Tea tree oil is defined by international standard ISO 4730 (2004) (“Oil of Melaleuca, Terpinen-4-ol type”), which specifies levels of 15 components, which are needed to define the oil as “tea tree oil.”

Among over 98 compounds contained in the oil, terpinen-4-ol is responsible for most of the antimicrobial activity.

My Clear Skin Secret

Pros:

Doesn't dry out my skin
Clears up my acne faster than ANYTHING I've ever tried
Brings pimples to a head

Cons:

Stings a little bit
Has a smell (I like it, but a lot of people don't)
Expensive for a small bottle (10$ for one fl ounce)

Tea tree oil gets rid of pimples the best and the fastest out of all the products I've ever tried. I have combination skin, so parts of it gets really dry, and some really oily. It doesn't bother the dry parts or the oily parts, which is the reason why I stopped using BP. What I do is use the tea tree oil as a spot treatment after I wash my face. It works like magic and my pimples will disappear within a night or two. Tea tree oil is also my emergency product I use to clear my skin before a big event.

Pros:

Tingly fresh clean feeling after applying, Makes your skin very clear and soft, evens skin tone, reduces redness

Cons:

none to me though others complain about the smell or dryness/burning I don't get these affects I have normal skin not too oily or dry.

I've been using Tea Tree oil for around 3 weeks. I love the fresh feeling after you apply it - very tingly / cool refreshing, the smell is strong but I like it. Clears your skin quite fast, prevents pimples and evens skin tone. I use just normal tea tree oil strait out of the bottle with cotton pads firstly dampen pad and then apply small amount of Tea tree oil wipe face morning and night So far my skin tone has improved 100% less pimples and redness, pimples don't seem to flare up anymore. My whole face looks brighter and feels so soft. I recommend anyone to use not only people with acne! Fantastic product :)

Pros:

Gets rid of AND prevents zits and acne every time!

Cons:

temporary smell that goes away in a short while

Tea tree oil has worked for me for years! If I don't use it I break out. If I eat chocolate I break out, but if I am using tea tree oil EVERY DAY I never ever break out. If I forget and start to have a zit I just use tea tree oil and it goes away. I have told my friends and strangers about this for several years now. FABULOUS PRODUCT! I get mine from Whole Foods. Just don't get it in your eyes!

Pros:

Reduces redness, my skin is less oily, acne is slowly vanishing, safer than benzoil peroxide, multi-purpose (cuts, bites, ect.).

Cons:

Has a strong smell, but I got used to it.

Well, I was on BP for about a year, then found some distrubing things about long-term use of BP. I tried other natural product, but just broke out worse. Then, I found out that BP makes your acne more resistant. I then started using tea tree oil (undiluted) and my acne is slowly fading, Had some whiteheads come up, but left them alone and they are gone! I have combo skin, so it dries out the normal parts of my face a bit, so I use an oil-fre moisturizer. Once my acne is competely cleared up, I will dilute the oil and just use the 100% for spot treatment. While tea tree oil has been link to some other things (rare estrogen production, sesitization), I would rather have that than premature aging and tumors growing on my face (from BP). Even "natural products", you would be surprised as to some of the harmful chemicals in them. The Body shop line has restricted ingredients. So far, tea tree oil has the least amount of risks I have found and it seems to be doing great!

Pros:

Works amazingly. You can feel how clean your skin is afterward. Completely got rid of my blemishes and pimples. I'm now zit-free and am not prone to breakouts as much as I used to be.

Cons:

People complain about the smell. Frankly, I guess because I've been doing it for years, I like the smell now. It took getting used to, but it definitely wasn't unbearable. Also, it dries your skin, so use a moisturizer afterward.

Tea Tree Oil was recommended to me by a hair stylist I used to go to. I went and bought it at my local pharmacy, tried it, and I really liked the burney, tingley sensation. It didn't hurt, but there was definitely a burning there. After a few minutes my face felt so clean. After a three or four days, my pimples were completely gone. After a week, my face was one even color. No red, no blemishes at all. Now the only time I ever break out is right before I get my period, but I no longer get an embarrassing amount when I do. One or two, which are usually gone in two days max. I always buy 100% Tea Tree Oil. I don't trust products that say they use it in their ingredients. 100% has always worked the best for me. Desert Essence makes a good one.

Pros:

The best product I have EVER used to clear my skin. PLEASE try this if you are running out of options.

Cons:

None. None. And none.

Where do I begin??? There is nothing bad about this product. It has honestly SAVED MY LIFE. Everyone on here knows how debilitating acne can be, so I think most of you can understand that moment when we find something that we think will end our suffering. I have tried everything short of accutane and drained my savings on expensive treatments (I think I spent almost $2000 on peels, microderm, colonics, vitamins, cleanses, meds, and products) all to no avail. NOTHING worked. Not even a little bit. I was on Antibiotics for 6 months with no help whatsoever. AND THEN I bought a $13 bottle of Tea Tree Oil thinking "What the hell!!!" and it has honestly been a godsend. I have dehydrated DRY skin and it with all the acne treatments it was looking very weathered. Not to mention the scars and hyperpigmentation. Not only is TTO keeping me clear (I hope I don't jinx myself) but it is softening my old marks and it doesn't dry my skin out at all.

Pros:

- Works very well with consistent use.
- Much, much heaper than other co-called acne treatment system in the market.

Cons:

- Strong smell (but you'll get use to it).
- May dries and irritates skin.

I've tried Pro-Active and other acne systems but none seem to work. I was about to give up, until I tried this tea tree oil. I apply 100% tea tree oil along with 100% Vitamin E oil, so that my skin doesn't dry, night and morning daily. The result may takes a few day but you can definitely see the difference.

Pros:

Totally cleared up acne in a matter of days

Cons:

Strong smell - got used to it though

As someone who has gone through an Accutane treatment, oral antibiotics, proactiv, topical antibiotics, benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid and just about everything else under the sun. I feel that I can give a solid recommendation when I say that undiluted 100% tea tree oil all over my face with a cotton ball showed results in a matter of a few days. I also use it under makeup to prevent breakouts. You can order it cheap from [link removed]
