This product has done wonders for my acne. Although it dried my skin out SO BADLY. My face has never in my life been this dry. It is red, itchy, puffy, and of course; DRY. No matter how much moisturizer I apply, it does not help WHATSOEVER. I would definitely recommend this product for people with acne but try to use as little as possible && DO NOT put it all over your face. It does say on the bottle to use a small amount because it is drying but it should say use a VERY VERY small amount. A little does go a long way with this product. Disclaimer: Everybody's skin is different so it may work completely different on someone else. This is personal experience.

Would you use a flame thrower to light a candle?
This stuff will help your skin to clear up, but it probably will remove a few layers of skin in the process. Its pretty strong. Also it's kind of expensive for the small amount you get. I would prefer the Acne.Org stuff, but that's not nearly as strong as this. I gave it three stars because it does help acne.

use with caution.
To use by itself ,hummm benzoyl peroxide shouldn't be used by itself ,I ,found out ,that I needed a good exfoliator and good moisturizer ,otherwise I end up with clogged pores ,I can use it on my back ,just for a couple of days if my back gets itchy or during the day if Im Not wearing any make-up,I just put some on a q tip and kind of pretend that I clean my skin using the q tip ,as a spot treatment when having a painful pimple ,this is what can happen either the pimple would die or pop and make a mess that can take too long to heal ..so I do use it for my back acne or chest,or my scalp if I get one there ...even though my favorite thing to use on my back when its clear and I Have the itch and feel like breakouts are about to come ,I reach for the cotton and dub ,or rub gentlly with pure hydrogen peroxide.

Perhaps a little too strong for sensitive skin.

Pros:

Helps if you have severe acne
Is not expensive
very strong and effective

Cons:

Dries out skin
Not suited if you have sensitive skin like me, go for a 2.5% or a 5%
Could bleach clothing

I have been using the persa gel for over a month now and it did dry out my face a lot! I would recommend this to the people with severe acne problems and to the ones with less severe problems i'd say, use the 2.5% or the 5%. It is true that it fights to clear up acne, but i've been getting weird and painful acne bumps because of this product filled with whiteheads. I realised that when I stopped using this product that I wasn't getting the bumps anymore.

Not much difference.. Eyelids swelled up?

Pros:

Got rid of acne fast
Affordable

Cons:

Made my eyelids swell up?
Sometimes left a white, dry residue

At first when I got this, it worked wonders. Most of my acne had disappeared. However, when I have put this on my acne before bed, I would wake up and my eyelids would be swollen? This had happened about 4 times, and I have stopped using it, and my eyelids are now fine. Maybe I'm allergic to something in it? I'm not sure, but overall a good product. Just be cautious.

Pros:

10% available OTC without a prescription

Cons:

flaky dry skin
red skin
irritating to those with very sensitive skin

I use Clean and Clear persa-gel on and off when i have really ugly pimples that won't disappear. This is my last resort method to really attack pimples that won't go away! I apply a very very very small amount and then apply a moisturizer after. Without a rich moisturizer my skin would be flake city haha. USE THIS PRODUCT SPARINGLY.

Pros:

Helps shrink big stubborn pimples
Not deathly over drying

Cons:

It's not a miracle product like these other people are describing.

I bought this flat out because of good reviews. I get stubborn pimples that generally don't have heads on them, so I needed something to help sink into the skin. This product helps, but it isn't a lifesaving cream. I notice that with large pimple, they naturally go away in 5 or so days. This stuff will cut it down to 2-3 if you apply morning and night. For the smaller pimples, it made no difference for me at least. They would go away naturally in 3ish days with or without. I'm giving this 3 stars instead of 2 though because it is good if you apply to a site where you feel something coming up. It will keep it from growing into a full blown painful zit.

Pros:

Reduces Pimple Size
Good for cystic acne or nodule

Cons:

Doesn't prevent acne
Very Drying

This product is good and reducing pimple size, but does not completely get rid of the pimple! It's very very VERY drying and it tends to itch, it doesn't dry clear so only use it at night. I would only use it as a spot treatment though not for your whole face.
