Pros:

Cleared most acne within 3 weeks
Bigger boobs

Cons:

Vomiting
Constant anxiety and nausea
Horrible panic attacks

I can't explain how TERRIBLE this medicine made me feel. I'm on Welbutrin and Prozac, which have been successful in helping with my anxiety disorder and depression. I was prescribed Yaz after being diagnosed with PCOS to help with acne and excess hair. After staying up ALL NIGHT vomiting during the third week of taking the pill, however, I had to stop taking it. For a month after stopping, I had the worst panic attacks I've ever had in my life. I was suicidal and felt like I was never going to feel normal again. After a month I started feeling better, but if you have a history of anxiety or depression, be prepared just in case! From what I can tell, these are fairly common side effects.

Pros:

It's better than Diane35 and Yazmin (DONT TAKE THEM!)
- I've run out of Pro's :S

Cons:

- Gained 5 kilo's in 10 months
- Migraines
- Constant Headaches
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Didn't really clear my acne
- Digestive problems
- Insomnia
- I had a day where I had one blurry eye
- Chest Pains
- Cravings
- Only felt good when I was on the sugar pills (GO FIGURE)
- I developed intolerance's to things too

So many more things!

I dont like to be negative but please look at different alternative's. I've done some research and the newer pills seem to have a lot of problems. I've tried everything to cure my acne and the only thing that seems to work is if I try to de stress as much as I can, drink heaps of water, limit alcohol, eat a healthy diet, take out dairy, exercise and try to eat foods that are easy to digest. My acne decreases and sometimes clears up completely whenever I've achieved a good balance of all of these things. From experience I believe that severe acne is caused by stress and diet ..... HOWEVER your acne won't clear up if you just de stress for one day - you have to add it to your daily routine. Back to this pill; i had so many different side effects from this. It's horrible. I've also don't a lot of research on this and theres heaps of side effects. People have even developed blood clots and died. I stopped it recently when I had a blurred eye for a day and then looked on the net and found a youtube video on somebody who became permanently blind from the Yaz pill. NO JOKE! OH and my friend was on it for 2 months and developed a clot in her leg. Luckily she's fine but what if she didn't pick that up? it could have travelled up to her lungs!! Anyways; good luck! i know how horrible it is to have acne but don't let it bother you - your going to find out what works for you, just keep on trying and monitor the effects.

super cure from acne that will mess you up forever as soon as you get off

Pros:

Regular period
Healthy nails, skin and hair
Weight loss

Cons:

chest lump
shredding hair
irregular period

With this pill, you have to make sacrifices - whether you have clear skin and artificial hormones in your body, or stay healthy with acne. I took it for 2 years and it was amazing for acne! At the time I've had moderate acne which took 5 months or so to clear up. My skin has not been this clear in forever! Plus my hair became less greasy, I've lost weight, got regular period (literally, I knew every month that it will be coming on Thursday at 2 30 p.m.)...All good until I realized I'll have to take it forever, and I want to have a baby in a year or two so I figured better stop now, hoping I grew out of acne. Three months after stopping Yaz everything was still the same and I was so happy... But in September my acne started getting progressively worse, could be related to back to university. In addition, my hair is now greasy by the end of the day I wash it on and it shredded really bad until these days. My nails got so much worse (they have always been long and hard before the pill), I started getting cysts which I NEVER got before... Lastly, I found a lump in my chest that turned out to be a harmless fibroadenoma and I believe the cause was the pill. I've had panic attacks as well; my period is messed up now, sometimes it won't stop and sometimes it won't come. DO NOT take this if you don't want to take it forever. I am still hoping that I hasn't affected my reproductive ability, but I can only hope....

Pros:

-Breasts grew two sizes larger! Shorter, lighter periods with less cramps

Cons:

-Same acne as before beginning 3 month treatment
-Became a very depressed person
-Lost motivation
-Zero sex drive
-Expensive
-Weight gain

When my doctor prescribed Yaz to me for my acne she asked me about my current mental health, I told her honestly that I was a very happy person and by no means "depressed" though I did get fed up with having acne and so that was a source of some stress. Yesterday was the last day of my 3-month cycle of Yaz. Over this time I have become a very depressed, down and unmotivated person. Most days I have to force myself off the couch to actually get anything done. I have felt no zest for life and stare into the mirror each morning wondering why my skin still looks so bad. My anxiety has reached a point where I don't like to leave the house because of a mix of low self-esteem and the vicious cycle where I can't leave the house without wearing makeup but I think wearing it adds to my breakouts. Ie. Not a healthy lifestyle!!! This is coming from someone who is described by friends & family as bubbly, happy, positive, very energetic and excitable. I decided that I'm done with it and will not be renewing my prescription. I'm looking forward to regaining my passion for life and losing the 2kg I have gained since taking Yaz. It will also be nice to have some sex drive back! It's always been relatively low but in the last 3 months sex has been the last thing I've felt like doing. I believe these pills effect everyone differently so I don't doubt this may work for some. Unfortunately it wasn't my miracle cure. My skin is problematic as it was when I started the cycle. I am now exploring the possibilities to treat the cause naturally. Will post when I find my cure!! X

Pros:

Cheap with insurance.

Cons:

Severe nausea, increase whiteheads, heaches, swollen joints, severe cramps, blood clots, smelly periods, disorientation and severe back pain.

I have stopped taking this poison and I'm still feeling the effects of it. I did not want to use any type of BC, but to go on Spironolacton* I had to go on a BC. Mu docotr also claimed it had some Spironalacton in it. The first two nights I got horrible headaches, but did not connect them to the pill and everything was pretty normal. Then towards the start of the second month, I started bleeding when I wasn't even on the placebo and that's when the horrible side effects began. My face was just as oily and pimple prone while on this pill, so no changes there. I thought I knew what pain was, and Yaz showed me how wrong I was. I honestly feel like dying and I will NEVER touch another BC again.

Please be ware

Cons:

Messes with your homones
Will destroy your skin coming off

I was put on Yaz after I first got my period because it was completely irregular. I don't know why I was put on Yaz and not a standard BCP, but anyway. My skin never had any problems before I started Yaz, and I didn't have any issues when I was on it (for about 4 years). Then I decided, after reading about dangerous side-effects of Yaz, and having experienced some scary symptoms of blood clots in my legs, I wanted to get off Yaz and onto a normal BCP, that didn't mess with my hormones. After I switched off Yaz, I had a SEVERE hormonal breakout. I had clear skin before and during Yaz, with one or two regular pimples, but not real acne. After going off Yaz I started growing hair along my jawline, and I had serious cystic acne on my chin, jawline and neck. SEVERE. It was the most painful and horrible experience of my life. Being 19 and breaking out with intense cystic acne. Horrible. I got tested for PCOS and I don't have it - YAZ had artificially controlled my hormones when I was on it, and going off, I was left with hormonal acne. I didn't want to go near Yaz again, and have been trying to deal with my acne ever since. 9 months since going off Yaz and I am just clearing up, however I now have intense hyperpigmentation all over my chin/jawline/neck. Please, if you are considering going on BCP that helps acne, please don't. They have some seriously dangerous side-effects, and when you want to go off them it will destroy your hormones and skin. Please, PLEASE, PLEASE, if you are considering taking BCP for acne PLEASE DON'T. I hope I can save someone from the same experience I had.

Pros:

For me, Gained weight (was needed)

Cons:

Smelly periods/ Strange discharge after period til next one
SEVERE Migraines
Very bad acne: Everywhere
Bad cramps
Something changed down in vaginal area (PAP-test came back "un-normal"

This is not a product that I would tell any of my girl friends to use. It's the worst BC that was made and yet the doctors just give it to us without know the side effects that could happen. Doctors need to look into the BC's that they give us, so we can be sure that we're not harming ourselves and harming our insides, that may cause problems of conceiving a baby!!

Pros:

none

Cons:

Gave me chronic cystic acne

I never had probelm skin in high school, but my gynecologist prescribed Yaz to take temporarily for some menstrual issues I was having. While I was on the pill my skin was amazing. I'd never had problem skin, but now it was glowing. After my periods were on track again I went off the pill, and within 2 or 3 months I started getting these red bumps randomly on my face. The problem got worse and worse until I had full blown cystic acne. I've been on dermotolgist recommended antibiotics, used every topical cream you can imagine, tried home remedies, cut out sugar, dairy, gluten, etc. Nothing ever helps permanently. This has been such a nightmare. It is now 6 1/2 years later and I'm still dealing with this issue. Yaz completely threw my hormones out of balance. It doesn't have this effect on everyone, but many have complained of similar experiences. I do not recommend Yaz for anyone!! Taking B5 supplements is the only thing that has shown any kind of lasting improvement. Look it up, do some research before going on Yaz.
