Pros:

Clear skin, thinner body hair, effective birth control, fuller breasts (?)

Cons:

Fatigue, dampened libido, severe depression, poor blood circulation (heavy legs, swollen feet), head hair thinning/loss, expensive.

Listen up, ladies. I started taking Diane-35 when I was 19 years old, and I've been on it for 6 years. I noticed a real improvement in my skin only when I was 21, and to this day I can't say if it was Diane or just lifestyle/maturity changes. I have always been skinny, so I didn't quite gain weight, but I lost muscle density--I stayed slim but got soft/fatty and I now have a bit of cellulite that I don't think I'd have gotten if I hadn't gone on this pill. VERY LOW SEX DRIVE--which is tough because I had a really high one before I started. Having read more about the risks of Diane (I think blood clots might be a concern for me because of my "heavy legs"), I'd really like to get off. My concern, of course, is that I get pimples again when I've been mostly clear for 4 years. On the other hand, I had several episodes of severe depression that I believe impaired my quality of life.I've noticed over 6 years that bad side effects improve with increased health/activity...but then so does acne

Waiting for improvement
I'm on the 2nd month taking this pill and i'm going for the third, I sincerely don't see much difference. My skin of the face was clear before but then i had stress and my period was causing me acne and I am a hairy girl so i decided to take this pill. My hair and skin are less greasy but i still get hormonal acnee, i even have a cyst and nodules and bumps over my face and even behind my ears and on my shoulders and back and sometimes lower back that i never had before and believe me it is all so painful. I will give it a chance and i will keep taking this pill until the 6th month and if i don't see improvement i will have to stop taking this pill. Althought i noticed the hair of my legs grow slower after waxing than before but my skin has been causing me pain because of hormonal acne, it puts me down everytime i feel a bit of pain on my shoulder or back and notice it's a new cyst and the scars they leave is just horrible :(

Pros:

Clearer skin all over, skin less oily

Cons:

Price is expensive, frequent headaches

I have been using diane 35 for 4 months and my skins is clearer than it's been in a long time. After 3 months my skin was still pretty bad so I was skeptical but after the 4th month my skin is clear but still has acne scars, my back and chest are perfectly clear but i get occasional pimples on my face but not as bad as before

Pros:

I went off Diane 35 in December because of bad headaches that pain relievers wouldn't help.

Cons:

Amazing skin for the first time ever. Little or no facial acne, no backne, nothing... and fabulous for oily skin which I despise!

I'm going back on it, at least for the summer. I'm covered in pimples on my back and chest, less on my face, which I am grateful for, but the oilyness is horrible... I use tons of the oil blotting sheets every day and have spent hundreds of dollars on over the counter crap that just DOES NOT WORK. These companies take advantage of our desperation. I'll accept the headaches to not have to hide all summer!

Pros:

nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! really dangerous!

Cons:

serious sideffects! gaining weight is the least of my problems related to diane 35!

1) while I was taking them (for 9 months), I had strong headaches almost every day, and also strange sensation in my right arm(?!) 2) dryness of the eyes, and this is terrible, because I'm wearing contact lenses for 15 years and I didn't have problems, and now my eyes are so dry that I can't stand the lenses anymore. I can't wear glassess cos they don't help, I see poorly with them - I must go on laser operation and pay it app. 2500eur 3) gain weight (and I'm still gaining fat...) about 13 kilos in few months, and I can't lose it, I tried everything... :( 4) my acnes didn't stop, my face is as bad as ever...

Pros:

Had no cystic acne.

Cons:

Continued to get zits, zero sex-drive, severe depression.

It was free because it's covered under my extended medical as an acne medication. I took it for three months and during that time my sex drive fell so low that I didn't want to be touched at all or even kissed. Right after I stopped taking it the PMS was so bad I had to sit in the back room at work and cry for no reason at all. The depression was pretty horrible and I am still suffering the effects. This medication is very androgen-inhibiting and will likely make you fatter, get bigger boobs and have no sex drive. It may help your face but are the side effects worth it? Definately not for me!

Pros:

it cleared up my skin considerably, increased breast size, had no period pain

Cons:

Made me severely depressed, moody, cry all the time; i lost my libido, and had suicidal thoughts frequently/ You also need to be on it all the time as the Acne comes back so much worse after going off pill. Also gained weight

i have suffered severe acne (cystic) for more than 12 years. Went on Diane 35 for 3 years and found that, while it worked very well on my skin, the side effects made it very difficult staying on it long term. My constant bleak outlook on life and extreme depression plus loss of libido made me realise it was not worth it for gaining clear skin. It got to the point where it wa slike those tablets took over my life and made me into an emotional mess. Only realised it was all because of diane 35 when i looked up the side effects one morning 2 months ago. Stopped the tablets there and then and havent looked back since. Have broken out worse than ever but have managed to keep things in control by adjusting my diet and ridding junk food/sugary food consumption. My mental state is heaps better and i am slowly getting back in control of my emotions. Suicidal thoughts with a clear complexion or cheerful old me with my cystic acne? Give me happiness anyday :)
