Pros:

none I can recall

Cons:

caused persistent melasma

I used it for 6 months for my irregularities about 8 years ago, yes it help for that matter but I had very fine skin although had light acne problems. These pills left awful looking dark patches which get worse with sunshine exposure and acne problem was not gone either. Since then I have been trying everything to my melasma stains nothing works permanently. Recently I have been using Dan's jojoba oil, it seems they've got lighten a bit. It also worked my other friend who has worse melasma condition. So if you don't really need these pills don't use it for acne because it is not a solution.

Pros:

- smooth clear skin
- bigger boobs
- oil free hair

Cons:

- boobs were sore to the point of irritation, i couldn't even give my boyfriend proper hugs
- general moodiness
- zero libido

during highschool i was like every other teenager, a few zits here and there but nothing major. it cleared up for a few years after highschool was over, but returned when i was 20 and it seemed to be moderately worse, or so to the point that i felt self conscious stepping out of the house without some make-up to cover up. i mainly broke out on my cheeks and along my jawline. i am now 22 and have recently jumped off diane. i was on it for 6 months and now it's been over 1.5 months since i've stopped taking the pill. i guess i didn't want to become dependent on it. i must say my skin has completely cleared up and looks fantastic - there is no scarring. i don't want to jinx anything *knocks wood*, but the acne hasn't returned. i've had one or two spots here and there but nothing of concern. i think diane is fantastic for short-term use on moderate acne sufferers. i wouldn't recommend for long term use. i also recommend SK-II treatment essence as part of a skin care regime. this product is my holy grail! it has tightened and cleared my pores, controlled the oil on my face and keeps my skin plump and fresh (my face no longer feels too oily or too dry). and i haven't broken out since using this!

Pros:

clear skin

big boobs

Cons:

weight gain
severe hair loss once you stop

I wouldn't use it . Sure, it gives u clear wonderfulk skin, but the pay off is horrible. I was on Diane for 2 years. Got off it and right away started to get acne back even worse then before, Two months later , I got severe hair loss. The hair on my head is falling off. I am losing a ton of hair. I had thick beautiful healthy hair and now I have half the hair I once had and my hair is still falling out.

Pros:

I was becoming catatonic and within a week of starting Diane-35 I began to be able to walk more than 300m at a time, and I could handle 45 degree temperature, I still went catatonic on the plane though and ended up with a bruise behind my knee. But considering that I was confined to a hospital for two months, this drug was a miracle. It has also cleared up my acne.

Cons:

None.

Not really using it for it's intended use. But seeing as how medical treatment is being denied to me because I have been labeled as having conversion disorder, it's the best thing I could come up with that could be easily prescribed by a random GP to control problems that seemed linked to my menstrual cycle.

Pros:

My skin was fantastic while I was on it. Also, I weigh on an average 10 lbs LESS while I am on Diane than when I do not take it. Having been off of it for about 8 months, I decided to go back to improve my skin and help with weight control.

Cons:

1) You can't get pregnant (obviously) 2) After a while, I started feeling sick (nauseated) before taking it (as in, while looking at the pill in my hand), like my body did not want to accept it

I am 34 years old and would like to conceive sometime soon, but... looks come first :-) Diane, here I come!

Work in Progress
I'm 18 years old, female and just finished my 3rd month of a generic brand of Diane, same thing though. If you're reading this you're either: A) Thinking of getting on Diane B) Already on Diane and wondering when it's gonna start working! or, C) Looking to see if your side effects are normal. MY ACNE:- I have had moderate acne for about three years now, generally my pimples are big and blind (underneath the skin), take ages to surface and then ages again to repair so when I get one it's almost kind of devastating. After that I usually get a cluster around the initial mother pimple which sucks too. RESULTS SO FAR:- I'm posting this just to let you know (whoever may be reading this) that I'm not one of the lucky ones who has achieved perfectly clear skin after only one to three months of using this drug. Since being on Diane, I honestly think my acne has gotten worse, not a crazy amount, but it hasn't improved just yet. This doesn't mean however that it won't start working very soon! Most of the reviews I've read only notice a difference between the second to fifth or sixth month. After all, it is a hormonal treatment and your body must adjust to it. This may involve random breakouts that aren't like the ones you've had previously, they may be in different areas or of a different volume. Don't freak out! it's pretty normal and they will clear. SIDE EFFECTS:- Personally, I have experienced some of the common side effects such as trouble getting to sleep (not too bad or often), mood swings and breast growth/ soreness. I honestly do believe that the mood swings I've been having can be controlled with a mind-over-matter mentality, take a deep breath and calm down or watch a sad movie and have a cry! It's okay to be a bit temperamental unless it's leading you to harm yourself or others. If you're looking to try Diane but are nervous about the side effects, just try it. You can stop taking it at any time if the side effects (if you have any) become too much for you. I haven't even had results and I'm not bothered by the side effects! THE TRUTH ABOUT OTHER REVIEWS:- Don't freak out when you read reviews that seem incredibly bad, everyone reacts differently and many are very quick to not only slam a drug that didn't work for them, but they're obviously going to exaggerate their story to sway the minds of those who are interested in taking Diane because they're angry with their result after spending time and money for it! Acne can be exhausting, frustrating but also expensive. All I'm saying is that if you're at two or three months with no result, persist. I'm going to update this review when I finish my 6th month of Diane because I feel it's important to share my story. Good luck, I know how tough it can be but you're not alone x

Hey! I'm on my second pack and my skin is worse than ever! First month was fine but second is not fun at all. I'm 8 days in and on the worst day break out wise. But I've been on this pill before and it actually did work for me, I just didn't remember my skin ever getting worse before it got better but I guess thats the case here. I heard 4th pack it gets better, then by the 6month mark it should start having noticeable results, which is what the info in the pack says anyway. Hang in there!!

Pros:

lighter periods
less oil production
decrease in acne so far
boobs have grown a bit

Cons:

slight weight gain but nothing bad
causes nausea so take at night!

So far I have been on this product for almost 2 months and it has made a great change in my skin. I was put on it because my acne has become very hormonal, and birth control is recommended for this kind of acne. I no longer get cysts and my acne has become much much better. They say it can take 3 to 6 months to see full results so I look forward to my skin just continuing to get better. The only thing is to make sure you take the pill before bed because it can cause unpleasant nausea!
