Pros:

Reduces Acne, Prevent Pregnancy, no moodswings experiences with other Birth Controls

Cons:

Breakthrough bleeding

I like it, but lost my Blue cross and can't believe the cost! The breakthrough bleeding is avoidable with 2 daily advil, which could explain documented liver damage in others. I recently have lost sex drive which I wonder could be related to the hormones but I doubt it. I have been using it for 8 years.

Diane 35--Only works whilst you are on it.
I took Ginnete 35 , generic version for two years when i was 25 and my face went from sand paper to baby bum smooth. I also looked very feminine and had this glow happening. I was very pretty on the outside but on the inside i was not happy. The mood swings were not a joke, i could cry at absolutely anything and my libido was just not there.. my cervical mucous was so white and sticky the whole time i was on Diane so sex was very much not enjoyable and dry-ish for me..oh and my hair was not growing anymore. When the time came for me to try for a baby , i stopped Dianne and thats when all hell broke loose...i could not conceive for a good 1 year 2 months and the acne was coming back slowly but surely.. the once glowing skin was now very oily.. libido came back..hair grew back, my moods wings got better..in short i just got back to what i was..except that i could not conceive. . Then i went to the Derma who prescribed tetralysal. I used it for 4 months then had to stop because i started having severe stomach cramps.. when i went to get these checked.i was diagnosed with colitis and they also found out that I was two weeks pregnant. So i stopped taking Tetralysal...and miscarried the baby at 8 weeks. I then went to a fertility clinic and they prescribed Glucophage because they said i had developed PCOS and found 2cm fibroid which i never had before Dianne 35 because my mensus was very much on time and i would know when i was ovulating and when i was not. Anyway I stopped all acne treatments and concentrated on trying to get a baby. Though my acne had stabilized whilst on tetralysal, I could tell it was starting to get worse but the rate was very slow maybe because of the Glucophage. Within two months of glucophage, i fell pregnant...my acne got better as i remained on the glucophage. When i gave birth, it was hell on earth,.the acne just got bad..three times worse that it originally was. I went back to the derma and was put on Erymicin, Skinoren, Retin A and a cream for scars with 4% hydroquinone. Things improved drastically but my derma ackowledged me that it was temporary because once i stop all this, the acne will just come back again . so she offered to put me on accutane once i finshed breastfeeding. I breastfed for a yr and have started my accutane treatment and its only been three days without any problems. I will not be taking birth controls with this and my birth control method will be using abstinence and condoms. will write a review on the accutane once iv completed treatment

Pros:

*less sore and big spots, less outbreak on cheeks and forehead.
*BOOBS !!!!

Cons:

*weight gain :( - 5kg since I've been taking it - hopefully no more.
* nausea!!!! first month I felt like I was going to be sick all the time. ( settled now )
* BAD BLOATING!!!

* very tender breasts.
*very irrate and emotianal especially during first month

So my acne hasn't cleared after 2 months, but I can defo see it is improving. Spots aren't as big and sore and less on my cheeks and forehead. still alot around the chin, jaw line and neck - which are getting smaller and not as long lasting. The first month i thought I NEED TO COME OFF THiS !!! I put on 5kg, it's all gone on my boobs and hips. My boobs were soo sore and tender to the point all my bras were uncomfortable to wear, I felt sick after most meals , especially in the mornings after taking the pill. I was very emotional and irrate , so moody I've never been like that before - It actually was so bad it actually broke up my friendship with someone because of my outbursts!!! Bloating is really bad , I feel very full all the time. The sore breasts, mood swings and sickness has subsided a lot. I feel like my hormones went wild at first and now its settling. I still have not lost the weight I have gained and I am still bloated. But I am hoping they will settle and my skin will clear. I'm going to persevere with it for a couple of months to see if it does clear up my acne. But so far there is more cons than pros for me! I will review again at a later date xx

Pros:

improvement of dark circles around the eye, skin seems plumpier, cleaner and brighter.

Cons:

big time depression!! can't stop crying!!!, rollar coaster mood swings.

i used to use Marvelon and i thought the sideeffects were pretty bad (can't stop eating, higher body temp., mood swings) since Diane35 costs 3 times more than Marvelon here i thought it'd be better...but my body reacts even worse to it. When i first started taking it it feels great. skin is noticeably better.. about a week later depression started to hit me & i am crying all the time. I have also spotting during the 1st week of taking diane and it has been for about a month now to this date. originally i took it for the purpose of birth control, now with morning sickness for 2 days in the row now & continuous spotting both of my partner and myself are so confused!! i never missed a pill and always take it on time. i think my system is messed up big time and perhaps change back to using marvelon. good luck girls!

Did not help at all!
I am 18 years old and I was put on this pill because of my unbalanced hormones, my acne was never really that bad and my weight was always average and hadn't changed in years, but my emotions had always been quite up and down. I read pages and pages of these reviews in hope that this would be my miracle pill. This pill broke me out in acne very badly and made me very very emotionally unstable and extremely paranoid, I thought I had some sort of terrible mental disorder, I thought I really was going insane! I also put on 7 kilo's in the few months that I was on Diane, and have gone up 2 dress sizes, but a week after stopping this pill I lost 2 kilo's and am still eating the exact same as before, yes my breasts did get bigger but that came with putting the weight on and they were extremely sore for the whole 2 months! I am a smoker and I was very worried about getting blood clots on this pill, I did get a lot of pains and cramps in my arms, legs and stomach during my time on the pill but nothing major resulted from them. I had high hopes for this pill but for me personally I think the side effects outweigh the pro's for this product! I did not lose hair after stopping this pill, my acne is slowly starting to go and my emotional state is on its way to recovery. I say go for it if it is a last option with your acne and if you're willing to put up with what may happen to your body!

Pros:

helped clear up skin a little

Cons:

depressed
weight gain
bloated

I went on this after the doctor prescribed it for having my period to often . fast forward 3 months and the only plus side to this pill is that it did clear my skin up ( had mild acne ) but still with the occasional breakout hear and there, but this pill did result in me being very depressed and also gaining 7 kgs. I felt bloated and hungry all the time and couldnt stop eating so no wonder i put on the weight, I also had stretch marks from the quick weight gain on my hips which didnt fade for 2 years. I have had friends that have gone on this without a problem so it could of just been the pills reaction to me, im sure everyone responds differently.

Pros:

- short periods

Cons:

- made acne worse
- very depressed
- crying a lot, moody

Overall, I would not recommend this product. You are giving your body hormones to try and help clear acne, which may work for some people but not always. Ultimately it is your body and if you can handle emotional stress I would say give this pill a try. I would try an antibiotic like minocycline before trying or switching your birth control. I personally switched from tri cyclen lo to diane 35. I was on it for 5 months and decided it was just making my breakouts worse so I went back on tri cyclen lo. It was not until about a week I was on tri cyclen lo that it felt this huuge weight or black cloud surrounding me just lifted off and I was smiling, all the time! It was like I was "me" again! :) Speak to your doctor because what works for someone may not work for you, but perhaps an antibiotic would be best at first, vs. hormones.

Pros:

acne is gone..

Cons:

READ THIS!!!! i have been on this pill for about 3 years, started when i got married. the acne was gone within months and i did not have any side effects on it. It all switched when i dropped the pill and started planning a family.

IT'S A NIGHTMARE. when you go off the pill - you symptoms (acne in this case) will come back multiplied by 10 and will last for years (if you have been on the pill long enough) i am still having the hormone waves come back with severe hair growth and acne. i have not been on the pill for 2 years now and acne was never a problem for me before the pill. please please stay away from it and if you don't - get ready for the side effects after... if you need to know more - write to me kate_kozelkova@[link removed]
