Pros:

It was just wonderful for my skin. i no longer have more acne.but.....

Cons:

Since i started using diane 35 i have experienced to many pain in my chest. and I'm kinda depressed too.

I have been using diane35 for 2 years and I'm thinking of stop using it because of the chest pain. sometimes it gets really strong and i think that it does not worth to be without acne and having these terrible chest pain that I'm having. ....pay attention to this before it's too late...

Pros:

I have had severe acne since I was 16, now 33 and have tried everything... this completely worked and I don't have acne.

Cons:

I have been feeling a little nauseaus, sharp pains in my breasts every once in a while

I will be making an appt w/my doc regarding breast pains... that can't be good. Hopefully I dont have to stop taking it as I dont have any other options left. With all of the self esteem issues I'v had with my acne it's worth it as long as it's taken smartly.

Pros:

acne reduced, birth control, bigger breasts, covered by extended health plans when other birth control pills are not, body hair finer and less prevalent, reduced cramping and bleeding with menstruation

Cons:

nausea after taking first pill of cycle (nausea reduced by taking pill before bed, avoiding alcohol on the first day of cycle), mood swings, anxiety

Although it cleared up my chest and back acne, I did not find that Diane cleared up my facial acne completely. But along with the Proactiv 3 step system my skin is completely clear. On occasions when I have woken up in the middle of the night after taking the first pill of the cycle before bed, I have vomited from the nausea. I've been taking it for at least 7 years, so I'm not sure if the pill is to blame for mood swings or anxiety. If you're going to be taking a birth control pill anyways, it's nice to have one that you don't have to pay the full cost of. I took Ortho Tri Cyclen before Diane, and I found Diane much more effective for acne. I am a bit concerned about the risk of blood clots, so I wear support socks on long plane flights, and no longer take packs of pills back to back to control when I have my period. I asked my doctor if it was OK to be on it for so long, and she said that the risks to my health from an unwanted pregnancy far outweighed the risks from Diane.

Pros:

works as a contraceptive

Cons:

takes a while to work, depression, fear of blood clots in legs, tender breasts

I've been taking it for two months - my acne is worse than ever. :( I'm going to take it for another 1-2 months to see if it works. But I am very worried about having relapse acne after I stop taking it. I need to seek a more permanent solution. Also, it is dangerous for blood clots. yikes.

Pros:

None so far.

Cons:

Itchy acne. Mood swings. Decreased sex drive.

I'm gonna continue using this pill to see if anything improves. I just started so i guess its a bit too soon to see any real changes. But so far, I am miserable for no reason.

Pros:

Cleared skin well. A few hormonal pimples here and there.

Cons:

I decided to go off this pill to see whether my skin would get worse or not as I had been on Diane since my teenage years. I was shocked that I no longer had mood swings (I previously had no idea why I was cranky all the time)and my libido improved

Even though some of my pimples have come back, the fact that I am much happier, less anxious and less moody means so much more

Pros:

cleared skin a little bit, faster periods.

Cons:

weight gain, stretch marks, moodiness and irritability

I do NOT recommend Diane....I honestly put on over twenty pounds in five minutes, I did not eat more than I used and I excersized more than I did before I switched to Diane 35. I got wierd stretch marks on my legs, calves and thighs that I have NEVER had before, and after switching off Diane, I noticed that I was a lot less grumpy and irritable. It did not make enough of a difference in my skin to continue using, and I was very dissapointed.

Pros:

Clear Skin, Effective Birth Control, Regular Periods, Price (for some reason I am paying a lot less then many of the people reviewing - under $18 for three packs?)

Cons:

Slight Spotting, Weight Gain (no more then 5 -10 lbs) Moodyness at first (went away after a few monthes)

I get an occasional pimple here and there but my acne has significantly deceased. Also, for those of you just starting on this pill if you wait a few monthes your body will get used to it and almost all of the side effects will go away. I've never had any problems with significant hairloss (that actually sounds pretty scary.) If you could put up with the minor side effects I've experienced, go for it. If you're scared of these side effects ask your doctor about tetracycline for acne, it also works, but the pills are larger and you are required to take more of them daily.
