Pros:

Continuously clear skin (for over 15 years!), regular & light cycle (virtually no cramping), no pregnancy scares

Cons:

Occasional depression and mood swings 1-2 days prior to getting period, and most recently, seriously low sex drive!

I have been on Diane 35 for over 15 years almost CONTINUOUSLY! I went on it when I was 18 after 2 unsuccessful attempts at using Roaccutane (after which my acne came back worse!). I am now 32 and have found Diane 35 to be excellent at treating my acne. I have attempted to go onto a more 'typical' BCP a few times because of the price. Diane is not subsidized in Australia making it 3 times more expensive than a regular pill. My acne has returned with a vengeance every time, particularly on my back & chest. Up until now I have been pleased with Diane 35 and have had relatively few side effects. However, recently my sex drive has virtually disappeared, much to the disappointment of my partner. After 2 years of suffering, he is at his wits end, and I am now researching possible reasons. Perhaps it is due to my age or other emotional issues, however I am exploring physical causes first: they're the easiest to cure!

Pros:

Bigger boobs and butt, better skin, lesser cramps during period, good birth control.

Cons:

Alot of cellulite on butt and legs, weight gain, occasional mood swings, also alot more gassy.

I've been on Diane 35 for about 2 years now. I first noticed the weight gain but nothing of other symptoms like moodiness or cellulite. I began to notice these cons during the second year of my taking the pill so I discontinued for a few months to see if I could tell the difference. I lost all the weight I had gained over the past year in about 2 months, my skin remained the same and I was a little more in control of my emotions but not enough that really affected me. After a few months a took the pill again as it was simply the easiest form of birth control available and I wanted to gain weight anyway, but after a couple months I noticed the cellulite. I'm 21 years old, about 100 lbs and I live a relatively healthy lifestyle, I've never had experience with cellulite before so I was very surprised to see it on myself and immediately began checking the internet to see if this could be a side effect of the pill. I'm trying to decide now to go off it again or not.

Pros:

No oily skin, acne reduced

Cons:

Weight gain, moody, depressed, heavy period and cramps on the first and second day.

I still have some acne but it has reduced since I started using it 3 months ago. Of course I still use many acne products along with Diane. I think for most girls that increase in breast size has to do with weight gain and that is the case with me. I get pretty bad breakouts during my period and it seems that it became worse while on Diane because I never used to breakout a lot before my period. Barely helps with any period problems.

Pros:

Clear glowing skin
Thick strong hair

Cons:

Depression, Anxiety and weight gain while on it, and Hair Loss and Insomnia after stopping it

Please only take this if your acne is bad and you can't live with it, it is a strong medication and you will need to weigh it against the downsides. This medication can cause clinical depression and if this happens obviously you need to stop taking it. Take a vitamin B6 supplement as all BCPs deplete B6 which is implicated in depression. Please take care and consider whether this is the best choice for you. No one will love you more or less because of your skin.

Pros:

Will control oil production and reduce facial hair. Will clear up acne, control and lighten periods.

Cons:

Abnormally hungry, weight gain, loss of sexual appetite, moodiness, fatigue, headaches.

If your skin is ruining your life, it's worth it-but remember, there are tons of other products for acne. I take tetracycline for example.

Pros:

Acne is gone. Scaring from the acne is dramtically reduced. my periods are light, less than 4 days and i am overall a happier person.

Cons:

none

I recommend that you do not give up after a month or two. it took 3 or more months for me to start seeing results but it is worth every minute and every penny.

Pros:

Birth Control; Clearer skin, regulated period, slightly fuller breast

Cons:

Increased menstrual pain while on the pills.
Weight gain; Skin more oily and broke out more after stopping; Increased menstrual pain; Constant hunger

It is not worth it. The cons outweight the pros. I took Diane for birth control purposes. I never had to take pain killers before, but while on this I had to take pain killers if not I would not be able to sleep. Weight gain was horrible, so I stopped after 3 cycles. I am petite (5ft) small boned, asian built. My hips grew from a size 0 to a size 4 within a month. My stomach also grew larger. Pants and skirts which I could have pulled off without unbuttoning before, I barely can zip/button up now. I had to buy a whole new wardrobe. (my cousin was also on Diane for half a year, skirts that hung on her waist now can barely fit her hips) Skin and scalp felt oilier after I stopped Diane, and my forehead broke out, which is unlike the past when I had zero acne. While on diane, I was considerably hungrier, and ate more than double my normal serving of rice. Even after stopping diane, I still feel the hunger pangs
