Pros:

great for acne, great as a contraceptive

Cons:

depression, headaches, no sex drive at all

It is great for what you start taking it for but not worth it because of the side effects. It took me a while until I realized what caused my mood swings, depression (and I'm not saying they are all gone :) but do feel the difference now that I'm not on it anymore. Now I just have to find something else for my skin. It has never been this bad. If I could go back in time with this knowledge about this pill, would never ever start taking it. (I was on this pill for 9 years)

Pros:

clearer skin, increase in breast size, no PMS

Cons:

A bit of weight gain

At first my skin got worse rather than better, but after about 4 months it has started to clear up completely, and I hardly ever break out anymore. Also, I've noticed my breasts have increases an entire cup size! Although it might come with a little bit of gained weight, I feel like I've gained it all in my breasts. I haven't experienced any hair loss or other symptoms that many others have seen, so as far as my skin goes, it has worked beautifully! I also used to get really bad PMS, and now my mood has improved 10X during that week!

Pros:

Cleared my skin from acne and lessened oil production a great deal. Also regulated period.

Cons:

None

I was told to try Diane by my Dermatologist for my acne back in 2002 and I'm glad I did! It cleared up my skin so well as well as making my skin a LOT less oily! It also regulated my period which has never been regular until I went onto these pills.

Pros:

Very effective control of acne, no more cramps during my period, regular "periods", higher self-esteem because of clear skin

Cons:

Nauseous, moody, weight gain

The first two months of taking Diane 35 I was very very nauseous but stuck through it because my skin was really affecting my self-esteem. It was hard to look people in the eye because I felt like my skin was so horrible. I just entered university and I was breaking out like crazy! I got on the pill and was determined to stick through it. I endured sprawling on the bathroom floor next to the toilet waiting to puke during those first two months (this intense nausea happened about 4-5 times during my first two months). But after that I only got stomache aches when I took a pill without food. My skin got SO much better, it got SO clear and it was unbelievable because I thought that I would never be able to go back to clear skin after breaking out. BUT I found that my calves for some reason are so much chunkier, I've been upset more then I've ever been in my life and I feel bad that I am abusing my body just for my skin. I am trying to get off of it soon.. but it really does work for skin.

Pros:

shorter and lighter periods, my skin is less oily.

Cons:

I have some hair loss that is worring me.

I think Diane is a good medication for people that don't develop side effects, I haven't developed much of them (only the hair loss). I have tried other bc pills and this one really works for me. I haven't gained weight.
