Pros:

clear skin! regular periods

Cons:

worrying that its bad to use for a long time, small weight gain ( 5lbs). only gives results when your on it, acne will be back when you stop.

diane 35 was the major turning point for me in m acne battle! my acne was pretty close to severe and my skin was oil slick, within 2 months my skin was so much better i couldnt believe it, it was friggen magic! i have been on it for 4 years and although my skin isnt perfect it is nowhere close to the mess it was before. I never experienced side effects, still enjoy sex as much as ever. I've heard it can be bad for you to use it long term but my doc keeps giving it to me so it cant be that bad. As long as you are a healthy weight and dont smoke the risks are minimal i think. Taking fish oil daily also prevents the formation of blood clots if your worried. take it! it WILL work for you!

Pros:

No acne, skin is smooth, birth control

Cons:

none

I love Diane, I have been using it for 8 yrs and saw results right away. People ask me all the time what I use to make my skin so smooth (not just my face). I never get a pimple unless I stop taking it for a month, which i do not do anymore because I love the flawless skin and the not getting pregnant. I wish I was having weight gain in my hips but I guess no luck there :). I am sorry that it is not working for everyone maybe you guys should give it some time. My sister is also on Diane and her skin healed from the acne quickly, however she initially had headaches. I hope this helps

Pros:

I have been on Diane for 3 months for contraception. It ha been really good for my skin, although its still not immaculately clear

Cons:

Dr told me to take the pill at night (I have been on other OCP's and always taken them in the morning)because Diane can make you feel really sick when you first start. I have had really dsturbed sleep since i started.

I am generally a happy and relaxed person, but cannot sleep! Is anyone else getting insomnia on this pill?

High dosage is high risk
I've been on different birth controls and pills for 15+ years, but I have NEVER had side effects like I had with this pill. I guess a high dosage pill (in this case estrogen) comes with the risk of more severe effects. I have never once before in my life had migraines or anything related to migraines. On Estelle 35 I had daily migraines that were so severe I could only lay in bed in the dark and cry from the pain. It started a few days after I started this pill, and they haven't come back since (over a year ago). I gave it a total of 3 weeks before deciding to stop torturing myself. On top of that, this pill has been linked to long term severe health issues - proven! It is banned in many other Western countries! Ladies there are so many less harmful effective birth control options, and smooth skin is not worth your life. Stop accepting this pill and the people who produce and prescribe it in spite of proven links to blood clots and other life threatening conditions.

Seeing results takes time but it's worth it
It took 3 months for me to see an improvement but now my skin is the best it's been in years. I used to constantly get large, painful cysts around my mouth and chin but I haven't had one for about a month. This month I didn't even get a breakout on my period. This is the only medication that has worked for my hormonal acne. I did not have any side effects and I finally feel comfortable going out without makeup! I just hope that my skin doesn't get worse after I stop taking it.

Wait for it!!
I started using this product 5 months ago. I had milde to severe acne on my cheeks and on my chin. My forehead was quite clear. First month was brilliant. No new whiteheads or pimpels at all. But then boom, month 3 was the worst. My face was covered in acne. I never had that much acne at once. One day I was losing hope but still hoped for a change. Then the end of month 4 was the time where my acne totally backed off. My skin started to improve so much, and I didnt worried about it at all. Now it's the ending of month 5, and my skin is better then ever. Still have to deal with some little scaring and redness, but acne is gone so far. You will still get some whiteheads around your period, that is pretty normal ever for a perso without acne. I can only say, that dont give up too soon. This is not a over the night product, it conteins hormons your body needs to get used to it.

best skin in years, used to have severe acne
2015 was my worst skin year. I've battled acne since I was 12 and I turn 20 in 2016. In 2015 I had deep, painful, cystic breakouts all over my temples, cheeks, chin and jaw and whiteheads on my forehead. So I started taking zinc, vitamin d3, and Womensense Saw Palmetto Plus since my acne is hormonal. Saw Palmetto Plus contains vitex and saw palmetto. I also tried evening primrose oil but that didn't help so I stopped that after a month. So I took zinc, d3, and saw palmetto plus for almost two months and that cleared 80 percent of my cysts but I still had a lot of tiny pimples or closed comedones and maybe 5 cysts at once. Then Diane 35, which I started over two weeks ago. I've experienced no side effects so far. I was scared to take it because I didn't want to get an initial breakout. I'm an actor so it's imperative that I have smooth skin. I stopped the saw palmetto plus to take diane 35 which I worried about since the saw palmetto helped my skin so much. But I've had no initial breakout on diane 35! My skin improved further. Now, I only have 4 active spots and they're relatively small compared to what I suffered last year in 2015. I feel my skin with my hands and it's the smoothest it's been in 4 years. I still have a few closed comedones but not nearly as much as before. I have PIE (post inflammatory erythema red marks) and boxcar acne scars. I plan on going on isotretinoin since I know birth control is not a permanent cure. But I am so happy with the skin I have right now. PS I have Asian skin and I eat a pescetarian and often vegan diet. The only difference I've noticed from diane 35 is being even more prone to constipation but it could also be what I've been eating. Flax seeds usually do the trick if you have constipation. I'm still taking zinc and d3.

I have now started isotretinoin/Accutane. Still on diane 35 as well.

Quit using that stuff. You are what you eat. I'm half asian. So I know what you're talking about. Eat more probotic foods, drink homemade fruit juice. Look up amla fruit. I use other fruits too and make my own drink. You need to detox your blood. Look up schishandra berries. Know in TCM to detoxify the body. Garden of like vitamins all made with veggies, no animal by products, all have probotics in them. If you can donate your blood so your body can create new blood. Good when you start changing your diet. Also onion and garlic. Water. Lemon water. I'm currently taking Spiro. I will try this diane 35 instead of spiro.

Acne
I am currently on Diane 35 for my skin. My acne was never severe or cystic but I did have continuous pimples and zits all over my cheeks and chin for about 5 years. I have been on the pill for just over a week now and my face is getting a lot better but I don't know if this is because of the pill or if it is because of my current skin care routine. I am wondering, if I should go off the pill after I finish the first months dose and continue with my skin care routine, or if I should stay on the pill. I want to know if acne comes back once the skin is clear and you get off the pill? Please help. I want to get off the pill but I want my skin to be clear.

Painful
I just completed my first month of Diane-35 and I've decided to stop this treatment. The first night I was up until 5 in the morning vomiting. The second and third days I stayed home from school with extreme stomach pains. Throughout the month the pain has come and gone, but I've experienced strange cramps on an hourly basis. I haven't seen any worsening or improvement with my acne, although the small whiteheads on my forehead have seemed to disappear, but I believe that was due to my topical treatment. So in conclusion, I've decided to go with natural remedies and not risk my body becoming dependent on a treatment that harms me.
