Pros:

It regulated my period really well. I never have any cramps, and my breasts grew a little.

Cons:

I broke out like CRAZY. Cystic acne all over my cheeks and along the jaw line.

1st month, I was extremely moody, anxious, depressed. I noticed that I started getting little bumps all over my face, even in places I never had acne before. 2nd-3rd month, the moodiness went away, but then I started getting a couple cysts on my cheeks and jawline, and they would take FOREVER to go away. 4th-5th month, the cysts multiplied and now both cheeks are covered in cysts. There are also some cysts on my temple area, and one or two on my forehead. The jawline has calmed down a little but I get a new cyst occasionally. I went to the dermatologist and they recommended me to go on Clindamyacin (topical cream) and doxycycline (oral pill) to sterilize my face, because they said I need to go on Accutane ASAP. Before Yasmin, my skin had the occasional cyst, but now its full blown, and my doctor said Accutane is my only choice right now. I'm getting off Yasmin ASAP. And I'm going to let Accutane repair the damages. This may work for some people but it does not work for all.

Pros:

Regular periods and words as a birth control method

Cons:

huge pimples, extreme exhaustion, very sore breasts and digestion problems.

I'v only been on this pill for two weeks and it started with a really bad headache, immediate and HUGE cyst like pimples on my chin and jaw line, and extreme exhaustion. I can't say that the tiredness is from the pill, however, I sleep 3 hours in the middle of the day even after a good night of sleep. So I think it must be. I am a very active person normally, and now I have trouble getting myself out of bed and getting to the gym in the morning. I am going to switch next week because this just isn't fun. And because of the sore breasts.... I was on it before for about 2 months, and it did the same thing. So I think it's safe to say that it's not right for me, and might not be right for you.

Pros:

The pimples have cleared up along my jawline, really helped clear up my back acne, smaller appetite sometimes

Cons:

As soon as I started on yasmin I got nearly the worst break out I've had since I first started getting acne.

I got lots of pimples on my cheeks and few on my forehead (where I both hardly usually get them), between my eye brows and chin!. I am 3 pills away from finishing my first month and I'm going to carry on with my prescription in hope that my skin will clear. Can someone please tell me if you usually have one big break out when starting and then it get betters?. I paid $76.00 for 3 months supply

Pros:

-Haven't gained any weight so far

Cons:

-Horrible break out all over cheeks and jawline

-Extremely tired (HAVE to nap about 3 hours after taking the pill)

This is my first month taking Yasmin. I'm on my third week. I was on Reclipsin for a year, but started experiencing horrible nausea so decided to switch. I was then on TriSprintec for a year, and started experiencing major hair loss, so I decided to switch again. I went on Yasmin because it is a name-brand birth control that is supposed to help with acne. Right now I guess I'm experiencing the initial break out but I hope it doesn't last much longer. I'm very, very, very, fair skinned so any kind of acne lesion leaves a red suface scar on my face for weeks (So right now without makeup I have red marks all over my skin). I've never broken out so heavily on my cheeks before in my entire life. I'm going to give Yasmin a minimum of 3 months, so I'll try to update with my progress (hopefully progress) soon. Also, I used [link removed] to order my Yasmin. I couldn't afford it otherwise. It comes out to 18.67 a pack, and instead of 75 that's a good amount of savings. You do have to fax an ID and prescription, and the shipping takes a long time (like a week and a half) so you would need to order it accordingly. It looks exactly like my roommates, so it's legit, too. I'm giving it a rating of '2' for right now because I only recently started it.

Doesn't work in the long run
I started taking these pills and switched over brands, all with Drospirenone for about 8 years (Jasmin, Jasminiq, Femelle and Yaxibelle). It was only for birth control, I got some black or whiteheads from time to time but nothing serious. After I stopped taking them I had an adult acne, awful and painful, product of the prolonged use of this type of pills (my gyn told me so). I would say that as long as you take them your skin and hair would look great, it's an amazing contraceptive but after you stop taking the pill all hell can break loose... Now I've tried many natural remedies (vitamins, masks, etc), and finally decided to try another contraceptives with another component diferent than Drospirenone, so I don't have the same reaction when I want to be off the pill. Obviously, it depends on each person, but it quite a common issue with drospirenone, so if you're taking this and want to check, talk to your doctor. If you have any questions send me a message, I'm starting the log for the new pills....

Pros:

Bigger boobs, short and light periods

Cons:

insomnia, weight gain, severe acne, sharp, shooting pains in my breasts.

I came to this site hoping to find some other people who have experienced a huge increase in acne since starting Yasmin. When I switched from Yasmin (1 month) to Ocella (1 month) I went from very mild acne to moderate/severe. I dont want to wait it out for another 2 months to see if it clears up, since the scaring is just now clearing after I stopped taking it for a week. I am not sure what kind of reaction I had, but it was almost instantaneous as soon as I started Ocella. Secondly, my boobs swelled up almost a full cup size. Which I thought was great since I am pretty petite. But the pain is almost unbearable. I wake up from the pain in the night if I sleep on my stomach. I cant exercise and I dont enjoy them being touched. Hugs even hurt! I dont know if I risk being put back onto Yasmin to see if things clear up or if the effects of Ocella were really that different from Yasmin. I have been on birth control for ten years and never had such violent reactions to any p
