Pros:

made me lose weight initially but then my weight returned to the same by the end of the month

Cons:

i never had bad skin and it made me break out. I have had break outs before, quite bad ones before my period but in general i have nice skin and yasmin made me get small un-poppable ( yes i know, gross ) bumps.

I had been off the pill for a year after being on alesse for 5 years and during this time i tried yasmin 2ce on seperate occassions. Each time i only lasted a month before i couldn't handle how bad it made my skin. When i went off of alesse and I lost 5-10 pounds in water weight within the first week or so. This was strange to me because alesse is one of the lowest doses of bc...just shows what artificial hormones do to your body over a long period of time i suppose. After a year of being off the pill and having extremely painful period cramps (where i couldn't move and lay in bed and cried for hours), I've decided to go back on the pill. I don't want to go back to alesse because now I know of the weight build up it brought on. My roommate recommended tri-cyclen lo so I'm on my first week of that now, however, everyone says that yasmin or yaz clears up skin..eventually? and enables you to lose weight so I'm wondering if i should just tough it out and give it a 3rd shot.

Pros:

lost weight.. can be a good thing for some people but bad thing for other... if your skinny already don't try because you will loose your appetite

Cons:

ACNE!! even if i don't break out my skin just looked bad.. i didn't have any glow to my skin at all... you will not just get the pimple that you can pop., you get the huge under the skin ones that leave dark spots on your face

no pregnancy but horrible on skin.. and body if your skinny like me... you will look like a skeleton if you use it long.. i don't like it at all

Pros:

Only on month two so still hopeful.

Cons:

The worst skin I have ever had consistantly, at least before I had a day with OK skin, since I have been on this it is constant bad skin, only on my cheeks. Very hard to deal with.

I will give it another month. It seems like it should get worse before it gets better but we will see. I will not go past 3 months if I am still dealing with this. My skin was not this bad before so it's not worth the wait longer than that.

Pros:

no weight changes, no pregnancies

Cons:

ACNE, headaches, mood swings.

I did well with Yasmin back in 2007-08, but went off of it for 6 months b/c I didn't have insurance. Got back on in May 09, and it's been horrible. On my third pack and still have bad acne. Never had it before- could even sleep in makeup, etc. Now I use prescription face wash/meds and its still horrible. I am not responding to it the same as I did a year ago.. not sure if there are different ingredients or what, but it's horrible. Hot flashes, mood swings, headaches... no bloating or cramping though. I will be switching back to ortho tri next month.

Pros:

it really cleared up my skin along time ago. I been on this pill about a month and a half. I know exactly when I'm getting my period. No bleeding or stomach cramps.

Cons:

I am breaking out like crazy! I heard it takes about 3 months for your body to fully adjust to birth control again. I'm always hungry and I rarely feel full.

Christy from Raleigh, NC I'm having the same problem as you. I used to be on this pill for about a year and I stopped for a good 4 months and now I'm back on it again and I don't remember if my acne is suppose to get worse before it gets better. I definitely hope so especially since it really cleared up my skin in the past. I'll give this 3 full months if not then I'm definitely going off this. Let me know how it's going for you.

Pros:

Regulate periods, pregnancy prevention, acne control

Cons:

nausea, stomach cramps, feeling sick

I have only been on this pill for 4x days (afrter being off the pill for over a year? my doctor prescribed this to treat adult acne after a stressful 6 months which had brought it on. I am only going to give it another week as i dont know if i can handle the nausea and wanting to vomit along with stomach pains. I was previously on Dianne 35 of which i didnt suffer from any of these symptoms.

Pros:

It MIGHT have helped clear skin up, but I was using Ziana face gel at the same time so I'm uncertain at what really did the trick.

Cons:

So many cons! I became very depressed on the pill and some days even unable to get out of bed. Also, even though I am an extremely active and eat a healthy diet, I gained 10 pounds on this pill.

Not at all worth the possible benefits. I just went off it this month and if you're taking it I urge you to do the same.

Pros:

-not pregnant
-generic is only $5 with insurance

Cons:

-worst breakouts ever in places I've never had acne before
-constant hunger, resulting in weight gain
-longer, much heavier periods

I've been on this for 6 weeks after 4 weeks of Yaz and I am not impressed. The fact that it's birth control doesn't mean a whole lot when it makes you so fat and pimply no one wants to have sex with you anyway (kidding, kind of :P) If the acne hasn't cleared up by the end of this pack, I'm looking into something else
