Active Ingredients:
3 mg drosperinone and 0.03 mg ethinyl estradiol.

Inactive ingredients:
lactose monohydrate NF, corn starch NF, pregelatinized starch NF, povidone 25000 NF, magnesium stearate NF, hypromellose USP, macrogol 6000 NF, titanium dioxide USP, talc USP, and ferric oxide pigment, yellow NF. The white inert film-coated tablets contain lactose monohydrate NF, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate NF, hypromellose USP, talc USP, and titanium dioxide USP.

Pros:

Cleared my acne at least 50% the first month, but it came back as I began month 2; same thing with bloating; helped moodiness/irritability within 1 week; has normalized my appetite and (so far) has put an end to my constant hunger and food cravings

Cons:

Breakthrough bleeding began after 3 weeks and hasn't stopped since. Have had pretty bad cramps during this time, which I rarely had before.

Overall I am pleased with Yaz so far and will continue to try it for up to 6 months to see what results I have for acne. I am concerned with the bleeding, but will stick it out and see if it stops. I also have severe mood swings and irritability, but stay away from antidepressants and anti-anxiety meds because of side effects I have had with them in the past. Yaz has reduced both so significantly that I would consider taking it for that reason alone.

Pros:

I've lost my appetite since taking Yasmin and as a result have lost weight.

Cons:

I guess what I said about the loss of appetite could be seen as a Con. I've definitely been more tired during the day and have trouble sleeping at night, minor depression that comes and goes, and a need to urinate FREQUENTLY!

I'll have to take this for a few months before making any personal recommendations, but overall, I'm not really happy with its immediate result. I'm usually a happy and outgoing person but since taking Yasmin have been feeling down and lethargic. Is anyone else taking this as a result of severe cramps (possibly endometriosis)?

Pros:

I'm sure it kept me from getting pregnant.

Cons:

Complete lack of sex drive- didn't help my skin- tender breasts.

Everyone is different- I wouldn't recommend this product but it probably works for some women. Having no sex drive was a huge problem, what is the point of birth control if you never want to have sex?

Please check with your doctor if you are taking Yasmin. I just got word that my cousin's friend died of a stroke as a result of taking Yasmin. She was only 31 and a mother of two. She had no history of blood clots. I am going off of it!!

Pros:

No Babies.

Cons:

Acne, Nausea

I have never had acne. I'm 29 years old. Within two weeks of starting Yasmin, my skin was horrible. I wake up every morning with new pimples. I called my doctor today to switch to something else.

Pros:

Didn't get pregnant while I was on it.

Cons:

Gave me complicated, cyst-like acne that is persisting 9 months after having stopped taking the pill.
Became depressed while on this pill (as well as any other pill I have ever tried, so this result is probably not typical).

Absolutely hated it. I have only been more moody while I was on Alesse. My skin was crystal clear prior to starting the pill and it ended up ruining my complexion and now I have many scars because of it.

Pros:

Not pregnant, period is no longer as painful, boobs grew a lot:|

Cons:

weight gaaaain, terrible weight gain, i never had acne, and now i do

I started out decently thin, and no acne on my face at all, occasionally i would get a pimple here and there. My mother today has mentioned how my face is brutal and i need to get off, as well as the weight gain, i won't be on this much longer, i've never had side effects such as this before, alysse was pretty bad with how often i got my period, this one is brutal for everything else

Pros:

Not pregnant. Predictable periods.

Cons:

Horrible facial acne. Huge painful under the skin zits that take weeks to deflate. Sore breasts two weeks in to every new pack. Some lower abdominal pain before period begins. Constipation.

My moods are ok but I HATE what it's doing to my skin. I'm broke out all the time, not just during my cycle but all the time. Once my 4 month trial is up I'm not staying on this pill. Ugh, will I ever find one that works. Tried Triphasil, Loestrin, and Femcon all have side effects I can't live with acne being the most important.

Pros:

Prevents pregnancy

Cons:

Serious cramps and blood clots... 2 periods during the first month

I had previously been on yasmin about a year ago, but I was so careless I just didn't take them all the time. I just got back on them after I had my daughter and they are already giving me problems I am on my period for the second time this month. And I have huge blood clots and it is very painful. Everyone is different... read about the health risks on both yasmin and yaz, they are very shocking! If u are having serious side effects u can possibly get compensation!

Pros:

didnt get pregnant,no cramps

Cons:

horrible moos swings, sore boobs all the time oh worst of all broke out my face and back

i hate pimples! but thanks to yasmine now i have them on my chin and back i never had pimples before. im still on it but wont be for long
