Pros:

No weight gain, no decreased libido

Cons:

Cystic acne (the most painful kind!), Nausea

I have used this for almost a year. This did help clear up my acne somewhat but the acne I do have is now cystic and takes a long time to go away. I noticed that it really flares up before my cycle. I found that the first 3-4 months of taking the pill I was nauseated a few hours after taking it. I am switching back to kariva which I find to be much better for me. I think everyone has different issues with their hormones and just b/c something doesn't work for one person doesn't mean it won't work for you. I started taking this b/c a dermatologist recommended it.

Pros:

Effective Method of birth control, eventually evens out and works GREAT after about 3 months.

Cons:

First 2 months: CYSTIC acne (and all over), yeast infections, mood swings, weight gain (My husband even notices my bad skin, weight gain, and moodiness)

This is my second time on Yasmin. The first time, I didn't realize the side effects were from Yasmin, because it was my first experience with "the pill". I had the largest pimple I've ever had in my life and now have a deep scare from it. I had three yeast infections in the first 2 months. I gained about 5 pounds. I don't remember being moody. After the first 3 months, my skin cleared and I was yeast infection, & weight gain-free for the following two years. Due to an insurance change, I used samples from my doctor for 6 months, interrupting my Yazmin (the samples were Yaz - loved it). I am back on Yasmin for one month now. I have four large cystic pimples, lots of average ones out lining my nose and chin. I have had two yeast infections this month. Despite increasing exercise and scruitinizing my diet, I have gained 3 pounds. I have been crying for no reason, or for little reason. (I am not pregnant -- checked already!). I don't know if I can take any more

Pros:

better sex drive & less cramps

Cons:

Acne & weight gain.

I was prescribed to go on Yasmin to cure my light acne, but it just ended up getting worse and worse. I should have stopped after the first month when I first realized it wasn't helping, but my doctor told me to be patient and keep going until 3 months. After that, my light acne turned to moderate acne - bumps all on my cheek bones, worse acne than I've ever had before -I'm still trying to get rid of it.

Pros:

the only pro i found it to have was that i didn't get pregnant on it.

Cons:

It gave me bouts of anxiety, crankiness, depression, little to no sex drive, sore breasts, cramping, and spotting.

i know birth control has different results with different people, but this pill was absolutely terrible for me. i had practically every side effect possible and was miserable most of the time i was taking it.

Pros:

no pregnancy, no cramps

Cons:

horrible anxiety, panic attacks, crippling depression, irritability, loss of libido,

amanda is right ladies, do your own research. i have been off this pill for 4 months now after 4 years on and i am completely serious when i say it devastated my life. don't believe that your gyno has all the answers for you. do your own research.

Pros:

No babies

Cons:

acne got way worse, PMS, achey back, weight gain

I've never suffered from PMS but while taking this I seem to be PMSing non-stop. I didn't take this for the purpose of birth control, but to clear up acne, and birth control is the only benifit I'm getting out of it.

Pros:

No babies! Periods less heavy and not as long.

Cons:

Slight dizziness, no change in pimples... still have breakouts around the time of my period, I'm VERY emotional/mood swings (no prev. history of depression), and bloating and 4 lbs of weight gain.

I needed it to regulate my periods (I was having 8 to 10 day periods before), and help with the cramping. I am still in the first 3 months so I'm hoping the break through bleeding will stop. It's good and bad...I guess I just have to figure what's worse?

Pros:

Regulates my period

Cons:

Loss of Appetite (I was on Diane 35 before and it didnt have this con)
I usually have clear skin without a mild outbreak before my period but when i started taking Yasmin these real hard pimples popped up

I'm switching back to Diane 35. I'm underweight so I'm not for the loss of appetite i'm experiencing and the pimples are horrible- they just popped up and they were really hard and though i'm not one for poppin bump, i had to squeeze the stuff out it because the skin around the bump would be too stiff; after the stuff, that were really hard may i note, came out it was like there were tiny holes in my face where they were. I would only recommend you use this product if you desire to lose weight (but hey our bodies are different- so that result is not totally guaranteed)

Pros:

-not pregnant
-generic is only $5 with insurance

Cons:

-worst breakouts ever in places I've never had acne before
-constant hunger, resulting in weight gain
-longer, much heavier periods

I've been on this for 6 weeks after 4 weeks of Yaz and I am not impressed. The fact that it's birth control doesn't mean a whole lot when it makes you so fat and pimply no one wants to have sex with you anyway (kidding, kind of :P) If the acne hasn't cleared up by the end of this pack, I'm looking into something else

Pros:

Boobs bigger, periods regular for the first time

Cons:

Made very mild acne into a terrible, crazy mess

I was really optimistic about trying this...I have had acne issues for about 12 years (since I was 12), and I thought maybe this would help out while at the same time regulating my period (which is why I went on it in the first place). HOWEVER, within several months, my face looked AWFUL. I was so upset, because my skin had been pretty consistently clear...just a little breakout around TOM, and some oilyness. Also, in the past I have only dealt with whiteheads and smaller zits...this gave me huge, angry, red pustules. I told my dermatologist that I thought it was the yaz my gyno had prescribed; she waved that off, saying yaz was good for skin and that couldn't be the problem. After I broke out in a horrible, itchy rash over my entire body, I went back to the gyno, who took me off of it. Sure enough, within a month, my skin had markedly improved and was back to normal after about six months.
