Pros:

Less Acne, feeling a lot happier

Cons:

None yet

Diane 35 made me break out BIGTIME! was horrilby depressed and wouldn't see any of my friends. I switched to Yasmin a couple of weeks ago and the acne has calmed down already. I wish I had changed earlier then I wouldn'y have so many scars but at least there aren't bumps and lumps all over the place!! The cycstic acne is clearing and am greatful for the change. Sorry to hear the news isn't great girls but maybe have a talk to the doc and see if something else suits as Diane is mainly for skin problems..to prevent and cure not create acne. Everyone is different I suppose but I am feeling a lot happier and all the best for you girls. Good luck guys!!

Pros:

Beautiful skin, PMS gone!, more stable moods, small/minor weight loss

Cons:

leg cramps

I was a bit psycho during PMS every month, and this pill made me sane. I really like it. It's only been two months, but my skins has been clear for the first time since pre-puberty. Only thing is that I get leg cramps. Anyone know how to fix this?

Pros:

4 periods a year (if you want), shortest periods

Cons:

spotting, hormonal mood swings, night sweats?, doesn't help acne at all... might make it worse

I took OTC for 8 years, recently instructed my Dr that it wasn't helping my acne anymore and she told me that after time your body adapts and it may not have the same effects. She switched me to Yasmin and told me i could control my periods better by only having them every 10 weeks. My skin has become terribly broken out in the past year I've been taking these. I also recently realized that I have begun having night sweats that may be due to this pill. Terrible mood swings and mild depression seem to be common to other users of this pill and not just me. I'm going to change pills the next time I see my Dr.

Pros:

Clearer skin!!

Cons:

Initially, felt sick, ok now.

I have had bouts of bad acne on and off, more on and am now 42 years old and sick of it. Was on Dianette for a long time, over 7 years which was brilliant for my skin. Doctor took me off of it when I was 40 and for 6 months everything was okay then my acne came back with a vengence. Boils, lots of pimples all over my face. Doctor put me on Yasmin, at first it made my acne worse!!! Very gradual improvement and now after 3 months I have no boils just a few small spots, which I can live with!

Pros:

Clearer skin (body and face), lighter periods, no pregnancy!

Cons:

Frequent spotting.

Yasmin is working for me except for the spotting. I have had no other negative side effects. Mood is fine, less PMS (in MY opinion anyways!).

Pros:

Clears body and facial acne and is fantastic once it starts working

Cons:

Bigger breast, food cravings, expensive, takes a while to work

I am on Yaz, which is a lower dose version of Yasmin. The first three months were really bad, the pill caused me to break out more, and I experienced a lot of food cravings and breast enlargement, but my doctor told me to give it a chance. By the fourth month my skin started to clear. Now I've been using it for six months and have not had a breakout on my face for the last two months, (my back cleared up about the second month after I started using Yaz). I just started Retin A micro and hydroquinone to help with the hyperpigmentation marks left from my past breakouts.

Pros:

Typical birth control pros, Helpful for those with PCOS

Cons:

Acne has never been a problem for me, but after taking this pill, i have HORRIBLE acne! I couldn't believe it, I thought it would help my skin rather than hurt it.. I now have large hard pimples on my jaw line and chin!

I'm not certain if this will go away after a while. I have only taken it for a short time, so I am hoping things will change, but this acne has gotta go! - However thanks to great health care the price is cheap, and the active ingredients make this great for those with pcos.

Pros:

Yasmin has been great at preventing pregnancy. It also has completely cleared up my skin...I used to have acne all over my face, but I don't have any since taking Yasmin!!

Cons:

A little expensive for me, but it will depend on your insurance. I switched to the generic form and it works exactly the same for me! So, that has helped save some money.

Try it! It might take some time to find the right birth control pill for you, but Yasmin is worth trying, especially if you are currently suffering from acne.

Pros:

Helps my skin, but i think that forms of generic ortho-tri cyclen have worked better. Normal periods, but that has never been my struggle.

Cons:

Doesn't help my skin as much as I would hope for. Occasional cysts. I definitely still have emotional effects of a period, it does not help me with this at all, almost seems to have a negative affect.

OK, more expensive than my generic orotho...but it is such a pain to switch birth controls. I had one generic orotho REALLY not work for me that is when I switched to YAZ. (when I have switched insurances different pharmacies have had different generics...they have different effects/ results).

Pros:

Cleared up my acne, less oily skin, bigger breasts, regular period

Cons:

afternoon headaches, mood swings, stomach cramps

After having my Dermoid cyst removed, I started to break out really badly in acne. I was rather worried that I would have another cyst as I was starting to have stomach cramps off on, and some ultrasound scans showed that I had developed a small cyst. So my gynae recommended that I try the Yasmin pill, which was awesome for my acne. Cleared up entirely, but I started to get headaches everyday right after lunch. I used Yasmin for 1 year and it helped clear up my acne completely...I've stopped it for 3 months now and the headaches stopped within a week! But my acne started back after about 2 and a half months. I'm now still contemplating on whether I should get back on it. My doc recommended another pill - Diane, which she said might work better for acne, but that the headaches I got were entirely subjective. I read online that the Diane pill causes blod clots so I'm not about to try it just yet. Oh and the Yasmin pill also kept me cyst-free.
