Dianette : Oral Contraceptive

I'm 24 years old and only started having issues with acne from the age of 20 onwards. I had been on other pills from the age of 16 and these did help my acne but I still had bad black heads and acne on my back and chin. After coming off the pill at about 21 in an attempt to solve the problem, my skin became the worst it had ever been and I started to really struggle with confidence. Although my skin was by no means the worst, I had hundreds of bumps under the skin on my face and these eventually turned to spots. I did research online and realised that there were several pills that helped with acne and went to my GP who prescribed Dianette. I noticed the change in my skin within 2 weeks and actually had far less side effects that Marvelon or other pills I had tried. My stomach was slightly bloated for a couple of days and this really was the only problem. After a month people started commenting how Wonderful my skin looked and I now need about half the makeup and concealer I used to use! At last i feel like I did when I was 16! I genuinely urge anyone who has not tried this pill to give it a try, I regret not going to the doctors years ago. Although the maximum prescription time is 18 months due to increased risk of blood clots, this is usually enough time for the skin to recover. One tip is that dianette is a very expensive pill and many GPs will not prescribe unless asked for, likewise most family planning clinics don't stock it.

I've had acne for about 7 years and NOTHING has worked. Got this from my GP. Just finished my first packet. Within the first few days I noticed I was getting slightly less spots than usual and about 3 weeks in I stopped getting any new spots. I couldn't swallow tablets before but I can swallow these no problem. Felt a bit sick and had minor headaches during the first few days but nothing major.

Throughout my teenage years I was constantly at the doctors trying to find a solution to try and clear up my very bad acne...tablets, gels, facewash...u name it I was on it!! And every time no improvement! Decided that nothing was going to work for me so went to the dermatologists and ended up on raccutane! This took no time to clear my skin! I was so chuffed with the results :) once my course of tablets was finished I stayed on dianette as a precaution to keep my skin clear and have been for years until recently! Dianette really helped keep my clear skin flawless! I went off them once for a few weeks and ended up having to go back onto raccutane again to control my spots! I gained weight on this pill but that's because I ate too many takeaways and drank too much booze once I went to Uni (it was worth it haha)...when I finished Uni the weight just dropped off! Lol this pill didn't affect my moods! To sum up...I was so pleased with Dianette! Am ragin my Doc has took me off it :(

I was one dianette for 3 years. my skin cleared up really well and i didnt experience any weight gain. having come off it 2 months ago, my skin and hair are REALLY greasy and my acne has come back. im also feeling really moody and emotional and looking like crap doesnt help! period pains are unbearable now too :(

I am now 29 and have been taking Diannette on and off for about 6 years. I came off it on April and the spots came back. So re-started it again yesterday. I hate having spots and it really does make you feel miserable.

when i fist started on dianete i wasnt sure about it i had read so many bad reveiws on it and was scared some of these things would happen to me. I was put on it by my doctor at 16 after having tried about every cream thy could think of and nothing was working. My face my back and my chest was covered in them!! Dianette has helped so much i still have a few spots and a lot of scarring but its no were near as bad as it used to be. It took about 4-5 months to start working so you just have to keep at it. Now the thing is im scared to come of it as i really do not want my skin to go back to how bad it used to be trust me it was awful!! I have been on it now for 9 months and dont know what i would have done without it it gave me alot of confidence back and i ddnt have to worry how bad my face looked like all the time. I really would recomend this pill if your acne is really severe although it will take some time to start working it really is worth the wait. :D

ive been on dianette for around a year and a half now and my skins been great! i sufferd with spots around my mouth, which the doctor said is due to hormones, the spots appeared less red within the first few days! dianette was definatly a conferdance booster for me! when you do come of it make sure you keep on top of your skin and you'll be fine. since coming off it recently, ive noticed ive lost alot of wieght, and i seem much happier in myself. remember not to stress when you get the odd spot because ive found it only makes them worse!

although it takes a while to work and can't be used long term it is worth using to get acne under control abit.

I loved Dianette. I tried many different antibiotics and creams and nothing worked. Then I took dianette and within around 4 months my skin was back to how I remembered it pre acne (which developed in my 20's). My doctors took me off of it as they say it has higher risks of blood clots but my spots came back and I have put on weight and feel very low. I am trying to find an alternative but think I'll just plead with my doctor to be put back on it.

Really effective acne treatment, works on the basis of prevention of further breakouts by reducing the factor that causes the acne. Tried lots of other creams etc but this is the only thing that worked.
