My period used be about 6 days long now its only about 4. My boobs have grown... not a lot!! but I'm happier with them now! lol :D i used always have bad cramps on my period and i still do :( but I would definately reccommend this product!

Pros:

Acne has almost completley cleared up, periods are lighter, no weight gain, skin less oily

Cons:

Sore boobs, still get the odd spot around my period , took a few months before there was an improvement in my skin.

I had suffered from appalling hormonal acne around my chin and mouth for a long time. It would break out around ten days before my period, and I would have horrible puss filled painful spots. Just as they would be starting to clear up, I'd break out again and it was a vicious cycle. My skin began to scar and I felt self concious. I had tried everything. Benzyl Peroxide, Dalacyn, Oxytetracline. Then my doctor put me on dianatte. At first I noticed little results, in fact my skin was worse. Then after three months my skin suddenly began to imrpove. It was really noticable, I had fewer spots and my skin was far less oily. I'd guess that my skin is around 98% better than it was before. Ive been taking it for a year now and because I have less spots my scars are begining to fade away

Cons:

Slightly depressed, Emotional, weight, stomach pains, petrifide to come off it.

I like it so far, having lived with PCOS for so long with no treatment I am so happy now that I am being treated, facial hair was a nightmare but its now getting under control, definately got heightened emotional were the littlest thing will make me cry, but I feel happy on it, stragely I am lucky I married my best friend but I am hoping that the way I feel on dianette that i wont smoother him in hugs, I feel so in lve that I could burst and I like it ha ha not sure whether he does though lol

Pros:

Worked wonders for my hair growth from androgen excess. Felt much better overall than with other medications. Better skin.

Cons:

Occasional headache in week 3. Some water retention.

Use it. I've been trying to solve the androgen excess problems for almost 20 years. This has been the first thing to help so effectively.

Pros:

Cleared up avne on my back and chest, which was only very light to begin with, bigger boobs, no weight gain, no baby!

Cons:

Nausea, only cleared up facial acne very very slightly.

I went on Dianette for birth control and to clear up my acne. I have had acne on my face, back and chest for about 4 years. To start with I hated Dianette. I was taking it at 9pm, and would wake up at 2 or 3am feeling incredibly nauseaous. This continued for about a week. Then I started taking it in the mornings with a meal, because I was losing too much sleep every night! I still felt nauseous in the middle of the day, but this did subside my the time I began my second pack. I liked Dianette then for a few months as it completely cleared up the acne on my back and chest, although I will admit it was not very bad in these areas, and also my boobs had grown a full cup size. I also had no weight gain. The acne on my face had slighty improved but I thought it would just take a bit more time...I waited 9 months but I still had bad facial acne. 10 months later and I have been off Dianette for a month now. The acne on my face, back and chest is now worse than before!!

Pros:

Most side effects calm down after a couple of months, skin significantly less greasy, I feel noticeably less hormonal (a combination of symptoms invovled here, which included acne flare ups and PMS), skin smoother, less irritation and fewer breakouts

Cons:

Some side effects - for me, very dry eyes, an increased appetite so I really have to watch what I eat, and occasionally sore breasts. Other than that, nothing major.

Different types of pill will have varying effects on different people - Dianette may agree very well with one person, and not at all with another. It's all about trying out what suits you best and finding a good 'fit', hormonally. It's extremely important to have a sympathetic doctor who will work with you on this one. Dianette works very well for me. I took it first for six months and it completely cleared my skin, but I was afraid of fertility complications down the road if I stayed on it too long. Big mistake! I was ill-informed and had listened to too many scare stories. Now back on for just over a year, with few side effects and good skin. My doc says the formula is so refined now, this is completely acceptable (to keep taking it continuously).

Pros:

Everything! Completely clears skin. Also regulates periods. Been taking it for 8 years.

Cons:

None. A bit of weight gain when you first start but that evens out and I have actually lost a lot of weight over the last two years.

I started Dienette at 14 due to my bad skin. Was told to come off it at 17 and try other pills such as Celeste and my skin was terrible I was soo depressed. Was then told to try antibiotics (oral and topical) and was allergic which I was actually grateful for as this meant the doctor gave me Dienetta again. Best thing ever. Worst thing I ever did was stop it. I don't notice any major side effects only the positive ones and if you eat healthily you should not gain much weight. All I worry about is the horror stories and coming off it. (which i'm not planning to!)

Pros:

Only been on this for 4 weeks but already noticebale difference, seems to shrink the affected patches of skin.

Cons:

Initial itchy/red rash that appears within the 2nd and 3rd week of starting treatment; this soon goes though. Only other side effects were mild headaches for the first 3 days

I'm 21 and have just been prescribed Dianette for mild/moderate acne within the last 4 weeks. I have seen an improvment in my skin already, however I have a lot of questions about how this pill works - I do not suffer from oily skin at all, in fact the skin is normal, and my acne that has flared up is in fact an allergic reaction to another med (before this my skin was completely clear). My GP believes that what this reaction caused was an acne-like dermatitis/rash, and therefore said I'd need to treat it with something - as a result Dianette has been given. But I wonder if this was a wise move because as I said, what I have is an allergic reaction to another tablet, and not the type of acne that starts in the typical way.I do not get spots as a result of hormone probs or excess oil - maybe Dianette is wrong for me. Does anybody have an opinion on my case? More harm than good?

Pros:

Clear Skin

Cons:

when I came off this pill my skin was 100 times worse than it was previously also caused headaches and thrush, and had no sex drive whatso ever

I was on this pill for 7 years....I was put on it when it first came on to the market....I was 18 and I had a some spots on my forehead....not bad enough to be classed as acne but it did bother me so when I mentioned it to my GP I was put on dianette...the spots cleared up with about 2 weeks...and so I decided to stay on it as a contraceptive... 7 years on I decided to come off it after a month my face was covered in acne this must be due to hormones now being completely imbalanced....now I have been off dianette a year my skin is still bad but the acne has cleared up by about 70%....although now I am left with scars on my face and neck....I do not currenly have the money to see a dermatologist so i'm afraid it is just a case of covering myself in make up every day. Bottom line if your acne is so bad that it is having an affect on your life dianette could be an option for you, if you just have a case of some spots that bother you look at other alternatives first

Pros:

Helps clear spots.

Cons:

Patience is needed - in my case i found it takes at least a good 2 months to clear spots and a couple more months to help with the red marks and general improvement of skin.

Dianette is very good for clearing acne and im impressed with the reults. I found within 2 mths of using it it cleared my skin and this made me very happy as my skin was constantly breaking out. The down side I have experienced mood swings and depression.. i have kinda lost my spark a bit and my libido has vanished! Thinking of coming of it and trying yasmin as I think this will be better all round. Will keep you posted.
